despite me and my brother living far apart we still managed to connect braincells and click on this within seconds of the notification and send it to each other at the exact same time... we may be apart but pilotredsky will always connect us
@@reverendneko8512 "These anthems convey the conceptually distilled and structurally intricate essence of Percy Roger Smith, the facetious cartoonist. The character is a fictional farce facade and fake phony falsehood." channel desc
Percy is an interesting guy. He's a digital artist who has the resources to create digital art that moves and even reproduce it physically with his buddies at IDM, but it seems like his art isn't very popular. Previously he was selling his picture movers in the center of town, but now he has to pack them up into boxes and sell them in a yard sale, most likely at a discount. And judging by the money he has made so far, it's not profitable either. I wonder what Percy's face looks like in this video. Is he happy to see his mom? She looks so proud, but it seems like Percy's art isn't panning out. His father is languishing in the background, unable or unwilling to leave his car, but keeping the door open to show that he's there, just not enough to talk to his son. Percy always looks so happy in his art and in the previous videos, but this is the first time we can't see the artist and his smile. Maybe Percy is fine, or maybe not. Hopefully it all works out and he can keep doing what he loves.
The amount of bliss those last moments of this song give me is hard to describe. It feels so melancholic but at peace and just full of love. Like a hug in musical form. Fits the artwork perfectly. "Thanks Mom!"
Music like this brings people together. I wish that someday a screening or live show of PRS could bring you awesome people to one place. That’s how Aphex Twin crowds are too, full of nice people.
As cheesy as those 'metaverse' concerts are. I think a PRS one would be a amazingly surreal experience. I can imagine scuffed looking PS1 graphics flashing and waving to the beat.
When everything in my life seems in a state of disarray, Pilot always manages to bring me a wave of calm through these beautiful and serene compositions.
This song was released less than an hour ago, yet it’s easily one of his greatest tracks. From the cozy melody to the powerful beats, especially the breakdown at 1:31. Phenomenal!
The painting is very wholesome indeed, but I can't help but worry about its possible implications. Considering PRS's long period of inactivity before posting this video and the fact that Percy is selling his picture movers I can't shake off the feeling that PRS is moving on from producing content for the internet and that this is a goodbye to all the fans. I seriously hope that I'm wrong and just overanalyzing things though...
With this drawing, PRS was able to perfectly depict the expression of pride and love in a mothers face when she is presented with whatever her child has created. No matter if it's any good or if she understands it at all.
he was selling his artwork literally for pennies, but mother appreciates his efforts and bought only one paint for 20 dollars which is couple of times more than he earned for probably several paints combined.. pretty meaningful
I like to think that Percy Roger Smith is just a reflection of how Pilot sees himself. He gives us music to make us and himself happy, and also gets money in return.
I may never achieve anything as great musically, but just having you as an inspiration provides a sort of comfort. When I hear subtle notes of PRS in what I do as a hobbyist musician, I feel such great homeliness, if that's a word. And also just now finding out about your Bittertooth project, after like, 8 or so years that I've been a fan, it feels so personal, because I'm also uhhh... let's say, a user of FA. So it's like a little family of sorts. But not in a weird way. Love you man, please keep on going.
Yes. The time has finally come. Edit; had to listen to it again. Like damn your work is so immersive. It has the weight and depth of a music video without even being one, "technically" . It's a music video I'm my book though! Also I forgot to mention I love how your music feels like it has layers, stages even, cause it changes as it goes but somehow you still make it all sound great together! Your a true artist, both musically and visually.
I really dont know how you manage such consistent quality in every piece of music you make, i can't think of an artist that has such an extensive discography that i enjoy as much on average. Thank you, Pilot.
I've been following your work since the Bittertooth days all those years ago, and I have to say that I owe a huge portion of my own sound to listening to yours for so long. I hope to one day be half as good a musician as you are. I'll never get tired of your stuff man!
He's not a bad musician but these comments baffle me. It's very busy 4 bar loop layering. He likes to make a lot of overlapping melodies. It's cool but it's also very prosaic and not in a bad way, just in a way that clearly slows this is his chosen audio aesthetic. I think people would be really surprised to find out how much good music is out there, seeing comments like this. This is good music but part of it's aesthetic (and this matches up with his art) is a sort of floaty overwrought cheesiness. Probably sounds like an insult but I do not intend it as one. It's simply a choice, and it benefits and compliments his visual art style well. It's more about the fact prs is just leaning 1000% into what HE likes and I feel like that's what everyone here is really picking up on. Just to reiterate, you should NOT interpret what I said as "the music isn't that good you just like the art". For reference I listen to stuff like tobacco and EPROMM and com truise. Obscure innovators one and all, like prs
@@zoned7609 I think that the vibe pilotredsky creates in his tracks is what most people find so special. I must say that I appreciate it too, though maybe not as much as some here. I think if the vibe is so special to so many, for them at least, the music is probably fantastic, regardless of mixing, complexity or novelty. (he's also probably doing something right to get the reaction from so many people) The way I see it is that there is no such thing as a good musician in an objective sense, just in the personal one.
There is something so liminal about the space on the art that matches the music so well… I can’t even describe the ethereal feeling I get when listening to your music. You have made my life so improved with your music. Never stop.
I didnt even know this was a new upload, i was just listening to his playlist and just now realized it was new, but im glad because i just noticed its been a while since he uploaded
I think this is easily your best work yet! Everything about it is fantastic. I also love the progression of your art, it tells a story of its own. It’s not a complex story, just a one about everyday life.
One of my favorite parts of PilotRedSky's work is the art that the music comes with. He's grown so much as an artist and developed a style that looks akin to renaissance paintings done in mspaint. I'd buy so many prints of these I love them.
WOOOO a new upload! Been really getting into your music lately and this is the perfect time for something new! Looking forward to what you’ll do in the future! Keep up the good work
