Nice mods on that hat. The F Troop reference was probably the most memorable thing I have ever seen in a video. No one and I mean no one references F Troop. Probably one of the most underrated funniest comedy series on the face of the earth. Awesome video guys keep those Hats waxed and those knives sharp see you in the next one

Excellent mods, I wear a Boonie all summer as I work outdoors, keeps the sun off, damp it down with water to keep me cool and always have a chin cord to stop it blowing away. Never thought of the wire which is just brilliant, or a fatwood toggle. Need the mozie net when I go up on the moor or on holiday. really pertinent information chaps and probably not thought about too much.

we always keep coat hanger wire in the top of the cover (hat) lol old family tip from my grandfather, who was a retired marine. I love how it always looks pristine when I put it on. Tfs that great tip on the wire and lots of blessings my friend. Take care. -Nikki

Yeppers... Ball cap for everyday use and the boonie in the field in the summer. If I want the sides up when I don't need the sun protection I just pull the draw string up over the top and use the cord lock to pull it tight. I leave my boonie brim floppy so (weather permitting) I roll it and an pocket it and switch to my ball cap. Excellent hacks guys.

Great video and information on boonies !!! I have a boonie from Strongpoint Apperal . I've owned several boonies but this one I got from those guys is very tough. I've waterproofed it and added a flag pin plus a heavy duty wind cord. I also carry a lightweight flashlight for my brim and I've tied two peic s of Paracord to the band up on top of the brim to attach it to. That way it's out of my line of sight and I've got no glair on my glasses. Works well for me . I don't have a big bug problem hear but I think I will use the mosquito net suggestion. It just makes too much sense not too! 👌👍✌ Very Happy that y'all are still around and make helpful videos . Thanks y'all are my kind of folks . I've begun un following some of the many bushcrafting shows on the internet because of them going more into selling than just being natural and enjoying what they were doing. I think of you didn't have fun and really enjoyed helping share ideas about bushcrafting and camping out or just making a fire and whittling a stick then you wouldn't be here . Awesome video brother :) Loved the mods...... I tend to wear a boonie all through the summertime at work. I will have borrow that wire idea so I can have more control of the brim. I sometimes lay a microfiber towel inside the hat and soak it in water. I find it stays wetter and cooler for longer, especially during the hot days.
