I never use AR. I need XP more than anything else. if i grind for dust, like in spotlight-hour, then I AR catch. Ultemately it is way easier to land the excellent throws with the consitent distance and angle towards the pokémon. The excellent throw is worth 10 ish normal 1st try catches, so even if I have to lock the circle or wait for an attack it is still way more efficent time wise IF i get that excellent or great throw in. (OFC still w/ quick catch)

Still issues with AR mode on Android. You either get a blank white screen or the screen zooms in and you can't move around. Android doesn't seem to have the quick exit either

@@crackerjak801 The "quick exit" is just a method anyone can use to leave an encounter during the catch animation by resting your left thumb on the berry icon and then after throwing a Pokeball opening the berry menu and pressing "back" on your phone. Poké Daxi made a video about it.

When you AR catch do you end up holding your phone near vertical to make the throw? I find it awkward to have everyone nearby think I’m filming them.

If you have an android, you can enable a quick settings toggle that turns off all sensors temporarily. Basically it restricts the game from accessing gyroscope, accelerometer and camera input. You're ultimately left with a generic catch screen and pokemon that are fixed in position and dont move around when you do.

AR doesn't save time for me. It always wants me to 'find' the pokemon first, before I can catch it.

You can turn that off by going into setting and turning off Niantic AR, it also turns off the thing you have to do when playing with your buddy

This can be highly debated depending on ones needs & wants during an event or non event. CD for example, If you got a huge cluster of relevant spawns, Yeah. AR would probably be superior. Whereas if someone really wanted/needed candy and only had 2 spawns, Pinab would definitely be more beneficial. My advice would be "Know your local spawn hotspots and decide the best course of action based on your preferences."

I use both option. I think for things like spotlight hour AR quick catch way out benefits. It is all about the XL candy benefits. If you had time to review the benefits of XL candy that it would make a great video. Keep up the amazing videos

basicly only when there are not enough PKMN to speed catch with AR+ constantly, pinap is the better option the benefit of AR+ without pinap is that you have more PKMN. Thats useful for trading (and trading events e.g. double/triple trade-candy) or transfering events with double/triple transfer-candy. trading and transfering can even be combined with mirror trades.. E.g. you catch 50 mons with pinap = (50*60)+(50*3(distance trade))+[50 or 100(spotlight transfer)] =500 or 550 candy (+50XL) vs. 100 mons = 100*3 + 100*3 + 100 or 200 = 700 or 800 candy (+100XL) --> AND you havea higher chance for a 100% from trading

I've used ar very few times mostly for the mythicals and now for areodactyl. Every time I use it though, I have to spend time moving my phone around trying to find the pokemon first. Left right up down. I look quite foolish. Is there any fix for this?

Dax, you should make a tips video on turning off your niantic ar in your settings. Doing this allows you to interact with your buddy without having to scan the area. Also you’re able to turn on ar mode when catching Pokémon so it doesn’t affect gameplay.

7 candy in 6 seconds (42 in 42) 8 candy in 7 seconds (48 in 42) The latter will also yield you more opportunities for Candy XL. More XP, more opportunities for high/PvP IV.

I just learned: you have to go to settings and turn Niantic AR+ off. I think this turn perfect handler off as well. Just for your information. Happy catching my guy

Catching 2 pokemons yields additional rewards such as exp and stardust. Sure you get 3 more candies, but the other rewards outweights the 3 extra candies of 1 pokemon.

I'd no doubt be using the AR strat on Community Days or similar but that XP from Excellent throws is just too important atm. Started fresh in November and I'm working towards Lvl 37 now trying to reach 40 ASAP.

Actually Pinap is better. 7 Candy divided by 6 seconds is 1,166 and 8 Candy divided by 7 is 1,14.. Also this does not include Catch Candy events. Then the Pinap gets even better. The only reason to use AR is catching *many* pokemon. E.g. in Spotlight Hours or keeping them afterwards for trading for XL Candy. So if you just need the regular Candy, then Pinap is better.

AR Mode is better if there a lot of spawns like com days and spotlight hours. If there aren’t that many spawns, pianap. Also for Ar, you catch 2 Pokémon which gives you more chances at better IV mons

I have painful basal joint arthritis which hinders my ability to utilize the quick catch method effectively. I started playing last January and just made level 45, so I guess I am not doing too bad.

pineberry makes pokemon breaking out of the ball easier then no berry with red balls. AR mode catch 2 mons with no berries is faster

I like to grind for exp cause I was not lv 40 untill recently so hitting those throws and catching pokemons fast was my priority, literaaly every throw can be same when catching in ar mode so I prefered ar while I never used pinap but quick qthought, can't you use pinap in ar mode?, it will have faster loading screen while also giving pinap berry effect. Also ome thing to note is that ar plus mode of mine is always disabled.

i thought that too, however i think its more based around people trying to maximise the amount of pokemon they can catch on comm days. you could have a massive cluster spawn and get through it twice as fast and move onto the next cluster, therefore resulting in the potential of more clusters being hit?

Using pinaps is the biggest waste of time if you grind a lot. Does it really make a difference between 10,003 gible candy or 10,006 gible candy? Gimme that XL candy and let's move along.

technically, lets assume that you have 10,003 candies and that meant you caught & transferred 2500 gible. now if you pinapped, caught and transferred 2500 gible, you would have 17,500 candy.... im not great at maths but that’s a massive difference

@@linking932 well congrats on the shundo. TrainerTips Has a theory that If you buy something within the game, then there is period of boosted shiny luck. That said the odds should be the same. Niantic dosent release the actual rates, but they are estimated on the silphroad

extreme optimization. If there is an event for 1hour = 3600 seconds. Using pinap takes you 6 seconds and gives you 6 + 1 transfer = 7 candy. Thus in total, you can earn 600*7 = 4200 candy. By not using a pinap you can finish the process in 3.5 seconds giving you 3 + 1 transfer = 4 candy. Thus in total, you can earn 1028 *4 = 4114 candy. Thus if you are looking for extreme optimization both the processes are almost similar
