Bought a Haibike with the Bosch system and chipped it to remove the 25km assist limit. I can get a range of 100km out of the standard battery and can have assistance up to 60km+ per hour. The challenge with these bikes is the limit....totally counter intuitive to have a max speed of 25km when we all need it assistance above that. That just makes it a heavy road bike

how do you remove the 25km assist limit?
@luxorion1

Most Haibike are heavy VTT/trekking and the battery is not really integrated in the frame. A road Haibike has no battery. At last, If it is to unlock the 25 km/h limit, better to purchase a mopet... or don't say that you are a biker.

All the negative comments come from those who never tried an ebike. Your simply ignorant to the rise of the ebike. They are the next BIG DEAL. I have both a road bike and a road ebike. Both are amazing and I ride both. The ebike simply goes faster but you will work your ass off. Unless you amp up the assist and take it easy. It’s up to you. Is a Porsche 911 called a cheater car because of its power? No fricken way. Consider the ebike a faster more powerful machine ( Porsche like)and believe me the speed is incredibly exciting and addicting. I ride my non ebike with the purists so we are on equal ground. But honestly, for pure excitement, I prefer my ebike. Ebikes are here to stay!

Think your first line is quite right, we haven't found someone who has ridden an ebike and hasn't enjoyed it. Cycling should be enjoyable, whatever you want to ride

Nice review but what about the lack of serious suspension and the low torque ? It 'd have been very interested to see a test on road, and steep ones (15-40%) with the strongest assistance (60 Nm). Not sure that results are performing with such a low torque (but surely enough for an athletic biker).

This isn't a review, just a first look. We have the taken the Nytro out and featured it plenty of other times on the channel so check those vids out for indepth thought on the ride

@@roadcc Thanks. Have you a chance to test it against a Trek Domane+ LT ? I suspect the Trek to have a better suspension

Here in the USA many states are looking at regulations for motor vehicles being applied to e-bikes. It will be curious to see how that plays out.

It will definitely be interesting to see how things go on that front, I think there is legislation in place on e-bikes in Ireland but it's not something you hear a lot about

Grande bici solo che la batteria dura poco ci vorrebbe una batteria almeno 500 wat

Ye failed to highlight all the work the designers did to hide the fact that its an E-Bike

That's a really good point, they don't look like the typical assumption of what an e-bike would look like anymore

I can see the benefits of an E-bike if you have a specific role in mind, like commuting with some gear you have to lug to work or some sort of cargo, like shopping or light deliveries. The problem with that is, where I live, bicycle infrastructure is pretty poor and you have to ride on busy roads in the car traffic, so there are better solutions for that type of thing, scooters etc. I know some Euro cities have been great at building dedicated cycling infrastructure, but they're the minority as far as I can tell. I ride primarily for fitness, so an e-bike is really not necessary for my needs, as it simply defeats the purpose. I think the e-bike thing is a fad will eventually sink into oblivion due to these reasons, there are better, and safer, ways to do what they can do, and there is no need for them for general fitness riding. I can see them morphing into lightweight motorcycles that can keep up with traffic, when battery tech evolves.

I don't think so because the better electronic components don't use as much juice.

Why the hell is road.cc supporting this ridiculous 'trend', E-bikes belong to people who can't cycle ffs.
@roadcc
@roadcc 5 лет назад
We support it because e-bikes are great. Great for commuting. Great for older riders and above all else great FUN. Just because the electric motor assists doesn't mean you don't have to pedal and if you don't want the motor to help then turn it off or only use it for steep climbs. At the end of the day if you don't like them then you don't have to buy one but we're going to continue to feature them because they're interesting

@@roadcc It's just another marketing gimmick that won't hang around hopefully. The market must be so small.

I read the same stuff about disc brakes and they don't seem to be going anywhere. In Europe, e-bikes are massively popular so the demand is clearly there. I have honestly never met anyone that has ridden an e-bike and said they didn't really enjoy it

Let's see how you'll feel about them when you are in your 60's or even way beyond. Are you supposed to hang your bike on a peg if you can no longer ride up the Stelvio or Colle delle Finestre? I bet you are probably in your early 30's at most. This is about still being able to be out riding in challenging terrain long after you've proven to yourself you could do it in your 20's, 30's, 40's, 50's, 60's, etc......No, not another ridiculous trend like the derailleur, brake hood shifters, carbon frames, compact cranks, 11 speed cassettes, disk brakes, etc.....
@JasonMemory
@JasonMemory 5 лет назад
Why would this bother you? I would see your point if someone was forcing you to use an e-bike against your will, but trends change and opening up bicycling to more people through e-bikes is not a bad thing IMO. You sound like granpa arguing for automatic vehicles being a cheat for driving.
