Im kind of disappointed that switching to cabinet mode doesnt give a new viewing option to just show the playfield only. Its strange to see that its still angled where you can see past the sides of the playfield and its not just a flat image. If it were, i feel like it would be so much more immersive. That way the TV in the cabinet would naturally provide that viewing angle. This way, its like a cabinet within a cabinet...
This doesn’t support nudge or plungers or real DMDs like PINDMD3 right? I mean I have real speakers and DMD yet it will show you the virtual DMD and speakers, that sucks. Please tell me if there is away to disable that before I buy any of their tables. Do the FX centric travels support any real DMD and speakers? Thanks.
Started down the virtual pinball path and really appreciate what you are doing with this series. I have no idea what I'm doing but know how to follow instructions ;) Quick question, are there other programs like Fx3 that are purchase and play that take advantage of head tracking?
To my knowledge, pinball Arcade does it with a Tracking mod. But I personally never tried it. Maybe in the future. There are also people talking about using the tables with VR which sounds really cool too.
Cabinet mode makes the best pinball game even better. I can't rate FX3 highly enough. It's simply awesome. I'm running a gaming laptop with a rotating monitor.
@@Nickbaldeagle02 I just recieved it this morning. Im using a laptop and a tv connect via hdmi. I followed this tutorial but the backglass was not right. Seemed like it was zoomed in. Also dont get how to change the virtual dmd over
I am really enjoying your series and it has prompted me to start my own build. One question, with your Back to the Future table, where did you get your graphics? I really like what you gave, but cannot find anything similar online. Any advice on where to look would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!!
hahah thank you. i designed them in Adobe illustrator and Photoshop and i had them printed to a local print shop. It still ended costing about the same as the one you find online. Unless you are good with photoshop i would say, bite the bullet and purchase an already made one for 200$ or so.
I have all this and a 2 monitor setup but the dmd (can move it around and change color though) is still on the playfield and the second monitor does not show any back glass. How do you activate, choose, the second monitor? Thank you.
Any chance you can help with some of the numbers I am suppose to input while in the cabinet mode settings. My back glass comes on but is off centered or only shows on half of the monitor. So like could you give me some number options to try and input for say the dot matrix horizontal and vertical , and back glass horizontal and vertical numbers . My back glass display is 24 inch landscape , and is a 1920x1080. Please help major frenchy. Thank you.
HI! Thanks for all your great guidance on the MAME In A Box site. I purchased an empty pinball cabinet + 3 monitors in 2011 with the intentions of making a virtual pin cab then (after finishing a MAME arcade). Never got far with the pinball cabinet, but looking to get back to it now. It seems the FX3 tables are quite amazing. If I were to make the cabinet so that it just played FX3 games would I need other software besides Steam? Does Steam work as a "frontend" program? I never got past the software challenges in 2011 so hoping this may be a bit easier now. I appreciate any help as I try to determine if I'm ready to take this project on. Thanks!
Michael, you can just install Steam on your cab, unlock the cabinet mode Mod from Zen studio and you are set. You don't even need a front end like PinballX or Pinup Popper, you can simply launch Steam and browse with your mouse and Keyboard. I you have a cab, i suggest that you install a Zero delay board and using X=padder to map your cab buttons work in FX3.
I have some trouble figuring out a few of the backglass files. I think star wars Rouge one is one of them. There isn't a file that says Rouge one to put the backglass in.
Newbee question; I guess you use 2 screens - 1 for the table and 1 for the backbox when you activate cabinet mode? And that the Dot Matrix is a part of the backbox?
If you have a 2 screen setup yes. I have a 3 screens setup. If you want to use a 2 screen setup you just make the backglass smaller to leave room for your DMD.
@@django60617 I had same issue for longest time, i had to go into pinball fx3 and in the settings set it from full screen to windowed and it should work as mine did.
they responded quickly....to bad they sent me an invalid code. Like really How does that even happened. Totally messed up my pinup baller setup plans for FX3... granted my 'cabinet' is just a TV on a table with another tv behind it as a backglass. still why give me an invalid code?
Do they support animated backglass in cabinet mode? For example does the Willams SafeCracker board game feature show up and work in the actual backglass monitor?
Have a problem with FX3 and PinbalX. need Help.. if I set FX3 and VPX in the recommended graphics setting of 1920 everything works great .. As soon as I change to 2550 the bake glass and topper videos stop in FX3. First when I return to Pinball X will start the videos again. VPX does not seem to be affected by the graphics setting. No jerking or jiggling .. Only with FX3 the videos are still standing .. have since made a short video .. both start operations .. I do not know what it is, but I would like to keep the high resolution ..
The buttons you will need a keyboard mapper. Look at my Xpadder video. For the virtual plunger in fx3 you will need the latest doflinx. If you are not familiar with doflinx I suggest you watch my doflinx video. Terry red has some good one too. I also have a video and an article on making the digital plungerb work in fx3 mameinabox.com/digital-plunger-work-in-fx3/
Can you play multiplayer on the virtual pinball table or is it like the regular computer version where it’s single player or against online friends? No multiplayer with family or friends would be a deal breaker for us.
Mine is somewhat tilted ( Top is higher than the bottom ) , you will find different setup out there. I like the look of the playfield when the top is angled so the Dot Matrix fits under the glass, but my only problem with it is that the table is tilted forward, which goes against the gravity of the ball if you see what i mean. It looks like this bit.ly/2Kg6JV8
Para el modo cabinet Tiene que ser con una cuenta de steam y verificarla por zentstudios. De todas formas tener esto sin ese modo ya es bastante, gracias por subir estas cosas

Frenchy. How come none of my cabinet buttons work with FX3?? i have pinballx as my front end. also when i launch a game it goes right to FX3 menu it doesnt launch the specific game
any help would be appreciated. This should be a simple thing - I have cab mode activated. but cant move the dmd no matter what coordinated I enter in cab setup it stays locked on the playfield. I haven't even started to look into mapping the button. From what I see you need joytokey for that. HELP! lol
Hello. I am using 2 screens. How can I put the dot matrix on the second screen (back glass)? The resolution of the second screen is 1440x900. The resolution of the main screen is 1920x1080. Can you please tell what I have to put in the cabinet support? Thank you
@@MajorFrenchy hey there sorry, what is Doflinx btw?, i now have all the b2s and backglass working, i have not installed doflinks. i have FX2 and fx3 both in cabinet mode.
How long does it take for them to get me the access code? I emailed them nearly a week ago with images of my machine and they still haven't responded yet. Help?

Your Comment is kind of useless. Typically people put the reason why it's not working and describing what they are trying to achieve. This is called a constructive criticism.
