I'm pretty nervous, I have to replace switch 47 on no good gofers and just want to double check that when I do this, I don't need to disconnect any wires before lifting the board up. It's a 97 Williams.
You need to unplug all the connectors from the harnesses on the playfield from the boarrs in the head. Open the head and see all the harnesses going down intonthe cabinet. Mark all the connectors on the boards that you are unpluging so you know where they will go back, Drop all the harnesses down into the cab below. Just slide the playfield out towwrds you on the runners and when it hits the stop lift it up and out. It's that easy!
on my pinball machine big guns as soon as I remove the lock down bar the glass starts sliding immediately. Is that normal? I usually have to hold the glass when removing the lock down bar otherwise the glass will start sliding immediately.
Most glass will not. Your glass may have been replaced and is not the exact width or thickness, Your game may be pitched very steeply. There are plastic channels under the side rails that the glass slides through . They should be holding the glass with some friction. For some reason you have none and the angle of the game makes the glass slide down hill.. I had one like that and when I would remove the lockdown bar, I would stick a key into the slot of the metal frame the Lock down bar covers to stop the glass from sliding out, until I could put the lockdown bar on the side and was ready to take the glass out..
