I went to an arcade near me and they use your video clips running on the screens to help all the new players! It's so cool!

I am new (well new in the sense that I am buying pinball machines and trying to get good enough to beat them) to pinball (I am 52yrs old and have been playing since I was a kid - as far back as I can remember) and really appreciate this “skill” video..thank you! Going to practice tonight!

i think renting is better than buying.. you don't have to play much to off set the monthly cost.. plus they service the machine free of charge as well as fix if it breaks.. change the machine whenever you want to also.. just my opinion off course.

the back flip off the micro flip.....mind blown i have a JP and was like wtf?!?!? i know what ill be practicing all night
@AbeFlips
@AbeFlips 2 года назад
It takes some time to get the timing right, but if you keep practicing you can pull it off quite safely. Shoot the ball as it starts to roll backwards, thats the crucial part.

Really like it. Just really hard skill to get. maybe you could elaborate a bit giving more exercise to practice. For instance I can micro flip in the upper position like in your final exemple… but in the lower it’s hell. I think this one of the must have skill for a fine game play. Thanks again
@AbeFlips
@AbeFlips 2 года назад
From the lower possition its called a Tap Pass and its very hard to do on modern machines. The Tip/Flick Pass is the most important skill explained here. I use it all the time, and it works very well. Just include it in you gameplay and do your drills from time to time and it will get better.

@@AbeFlips i have a new JP prem, Is there a setting i can just keep flipper power on without playing a game so i can practice?
@AbeFlips
@AbeFlips Год назад
@@gamblegamble2863 I'm not exactly sure, you can try an go into switch test mode, close the coin door and see if the flippers work. You also can set your balls per game to 10. Or, you get an ear protector and practice with the glass off (loud). If its your game, you can do whatever you want. I personally just start a simple game and practice.

@@AbeFlips I forgot to mention that a "Tip" is only a held up flipper that receives a "Micro-Off", not the Micro Flip at trap to set-up a backhand or drop shot. The term comes from the fact that the ball is at the tip of the flipper when done.

Great again! I only play Pinball FX3 (not by choice ;-) ), the Williams tables with realistic physics, and these micro flips are possible (especially with the later releases). They are not so easy to do though as on the real table mostly because of input limitations.
@AbeFlips
@AbeFlips 3 года назад
Thank you, really? I have FX3 too, I guess I have to revisit it. Only possible on the remakes or also on newer games like Doom?
@PinStratsDan
@PinStratsDan 3 года назад
@@AbeFlips only on the remakes (Classic Arcade) from Vol 4 for now. Zen is in the process of updating and adding the realistic Classic Arcade physics to all their tables including e.g. Doom. It will likely only be released with Pinball FX (their newest version of the game) later in the year.

Just can't seem to get the microflip going. Is it about the speed of the button press or finding the sweetspot? Anybody any tips on training this? And how do you do it when you play with staging flipper buttons that control 2 flippers like the godzilla left flipper button?
@AbeFlips
@AbeFlips 9 месяцев назад
I'm working right now on exactly this tutorial, which is part of a 90min + tutorial. First of all, every machine/era can play completely different. you will find machines where it's nearly impossible to micro flip. Make sure to not use just your finger for control, since it's very hard to control this way. Move all fingers off the cabinet/button, and make sure you don't touch it anymore. this makes sure, the switches are closed and it makes it easier to get the timing right. Now slap the button back in. If the flipper doesn't flipp at the first slap, use another quick slap which might save the ball. Stage flipping will also come, but for now use ther search function, there is a good one there on youtube! cheers
@Rikity
@Rikity 8 месяцев назад
@@AbeFlips Thats exactly what I was wondering. I couldnt tell if it was just very precise light flip with one finger but I couldnt possibly do that while playing a live game with everything else going on. The slap hit made more sense to me but I'm just not that good enough at it for it to be something reliable. At least I know what to practice now, I'm glad it wasnt going to be light pressure on the button to get it to barely go, just couldnt see how one could do that fast enough to make it work.
@AbeFlips
@AbeFlips 8 месяцев назад
@@Rikity you don't have to slap, but the additional vibration can help in some cases to influence the ball too. It's just important to make sure that the switches are fully closed- completely taking off the fingers of the button will provide exactly that. From there you can work on your timing, whitch results of how long you take your fingers off the button. That also means you have to be quick, sometimes resulting in a more forcefull push "slap". If the timing is too short, no microflip will happen, you might have a second chance for a second flip before the ball rolls off the flipper ... have fun practicing!
@aleck9820
@aleck9820 6 месяцев назад
how do you do the micro flip where you drop the flipper with a trapped ball and then micro flip once the ball rolls down the flipper? I see them doing it at the North American Championships and I can't recreate it!
@AbeFlips
@AbeFlips 6 месяцев назад
Release the flipper button just a very short amount of time and push it again. If there is no flip, repeat with a little longer release time. Good luck!
