Thank you for sharing. It will be very helpful if you could also share a layout illustration, with plants and interrow distance. What is the list of service plants which are less demanding, other than the pineapples and Brazilian pepper?

I am surprised to see the ground uncovered and also no mention of watering plan. How will these challenges be met?

In a case like this, where the bananas are not being grown as a food crop, wouldnt it make more sense to use a seeded banana variety for biomass? Itd be cheaper per acre and easier to propagate, as well as being more disease resistant due to genetic variability. Here in australia I've wanted to do this in my systems but its hard to find the seeds. I'm sure it would be easier to find there though.

I had the same idea in the Canaries, or else we need in vitro culture! But I tried to buy some seeds and they didn't sprout... I might lack scarification skills? I have managed to sprout Ensete though... Nicking the seeds was more obvious due to their size and hard shell.

@@xiscanicolas6009 oooh this sounds awesome! Let me know if you find a good method for sprouting the seeds, I'm sure I'll need it if I can ever find some

Interesting, thanks for sharing. It would be great to see how the service plants develop. Moringa definitely an excellent choice as it grows at lightning speed and provides a less dense canopy than other plants.

Brazilian pepper is weedy in Australia, actively controlled. Interesting to find out it actually has a use as a pepper, never heard of anyone using it here.

Same story in Florida. Spice use tried and failed maybe 70- 100 years ago.

By "Brasilian Pepper" you mean Brasilian Pepper tree (Schinus terebintifolius)? I thought it was some kind of Capsicum... Got Schinus molle in Perú... Also another that may be that Brasilian especies...

That brings a big question. Why is banana so prevalent in all your other systems so far. What is it about this site that kills the feasibility of musa?
