I was born in Pinehurst. I have had that "sand in my shoes" since 1969. Even though I am retired now and living in the Philippines, when I take a real vacation, I still come home to Pinehurst.
I was born in Pinehurst and grew up next door in Southern Pines. My late older brother caddied for Arnold Palmer (and many more top golfers of the day) in the 1960s.
Pinehurst resorts is one of the worst places to work! I worked in transportation and the manager Veronica will schedule drivers to 10 - 15 days straight working with no break. The pinehurst resorts pay barely minimum wage and expects its employees to give up everything do some rich folks can play. The transportation manager Veronica allows unsafe shuttles to operated. Shuttles with exhaust leaks, mirrors that don't work. Multiple mechanical issues. If you complain about anything Veronica the transportation manager will cut your hours immediately. Pinehurst resorts treats its employees horribly and with zero concern for them at all!! Anyone who spends money at pinehurst resorts are essentially enabling border line slavery!! The Dedman family should be ashamed!!
