Pinetop's Boogie Woogie Intro and Main Riff tutorial with Terry Miles 

The ur text of Boogie Woogie piano originally recorded by Clarence "Pinetop" Smith in 1928. With its signature tremolo introduction and thirds based riff, it is an all time classic. While most play this in C - the original key - it has been widely recorded in F and the published sheet music tends to be in F as well (including Jimmy Dorsey's "Jay-Dee's Boogie"). Transposing the riff to G to complete the 12 bar structure in C shouldn't be too hard. The Pinetop riff also lends itself to variation - the pick-up, tempo, repetition, etc. Make it your own. Enjoy!
