Brief Introduction:
Dr. Manisha Gaur is working for the betterment of Mental-health of the society in
general and children in particular since one and a half decade. Her empathic focus on
problems faced by children with mental disabilities had her involved in a number of
government programmes, civil society movements and self-initiatives at a level that
can be termed herculean in certain terms. She is so dedicated to the cause of well being and rehabilitation of mentally-deprived children that she puts her work before
her family including her younger children. She is always available to render her social
work services whenever and wherever there is a requirement for the same. Despite
being young, she has devoted almost 2/5th of her life for the care and welfare of
children suffering from the dreaded ailments such as autism, mental retardation,
depression, schizophrenia, suicidal tendencies, dyslexia, and obsessive-compulsive
disorder. She has been actively involved in spreading awareness among general public
through seminars, workshops and camps using presentation.Her expertise in these areas has been recognised by various quarters and
is being invited with respect and pleasure by them to further the interests of those in
need. To give further impetus to the cause of mental-health, she is now launching a
volunteer group and NGO which will provide free-for-all services to the needy
Dr. Manisha is also providing specialized psychological services to the geriatric (senior
citizens) population. She is regularly invited in Government organized and other
camps for Screening and assessing children with psychological issues or special needs
from normal schools and counseling their parents for child’s better development. She
has taken up a task on spreading awareness and training teachers and B.Ed. students
for identifying Dyslexia in children. In last one year she has trained about 4000
teachers
Dr. Manisha is actively involved in manpower development and runs Training
programmes and internships in Psychology. She is also an avid researcher and has
been a part of several national and international research projects.
Dr Manisha is often invited as an expert at Patrika TV to give her opinion on various
mental and emotional health problems in the society.
She has been awarded with INTAS Award for her Paper presented in IPS national
conference. Ideal Women Achievement award 2017( award given to 50 women all
over India for providing best services in their respective areas). Tadka Women
Recognition Award- season 7 awarded the title of Health Ambassador.
She is a founder member of mental-health awareness and positive thinking group
named “ Positive Mind, Happy Us” on social media platform
