A die hard Zeppelin fan for 30 years (48 my age, actually) and a Pink fan from now on. She nailed the song and did such a great cover, full of respect and passion. Kudos to the great guitar playing, too. This guy Derrico knows his craft, indeed!!
Why all the hate? If you don't like it, that's it, don't listen. I think she did a great job with this song. And a cover is a tribute to someone they respect, they're not trying to make it better.

@@5gnMoe Well, hang on, dude. She is a great singer, sexy, and talented but, unless I am mistaken, most of her great work is not her own. She does a lot of covers. So, there is no way to have taken the place of Robert Plant.
That is one of the best comments ive read because its so true. One, who beside big zeppelin fans know this song, two she killled the vocals putting her twist while having the right touch of plant, and three starting off talking about the guitarist and saying well lets see what you got is true respect to page. Very true!! I like that point when theres a great song, its already great. So when a band or artist "cover" it while putting their twist on it and do it well, just enjoy their version
I love this Led Zeppelin song and pink does a fantastic job singing this. Her voice is amazing. I don’t know any female singer who would have the guts or the chops to do this song. The guitarist is fantastic too.
Zeppelin is my favorite band, hands down, ! 16 years old they were my first concert was in 77' when they played 6 sold out shows at the Garden in NYC. I think Pink nailed the vocal part here. I prefer Jimmy's style but this guy is excellent also (Glad to hear this music is still strong, and you all enjoy it, like back in the day) LOL - All. JMO - Thanks for the Post

You know how good Pink is when her first word of the song was bland and she instantly got into mode and belted that shit out like a song bird. The contrast makes it better. Loved it.
I thought it was simply amazing. It's great to see a pop singer proving her chops with a masterpiece. The guitarist is excellent. 75yellow, the Great White cover is also one of my favorite Zep covers.

I have been listening Led Zepp since I was 4 or 5 ( with my father). now im 44yo and I have some weird music taste ( primus, pj harvey in the 90s, nomeansno, discharge...). this was great. it is not an easy thing to dare to do. I dont know much about her- but WELL DONE GIRL
I am a huge Zep fan and Pink did an Excellent job covering this song in their style. If you think any differently, then You obviously aren’t familiar with the Zeppelin version.
Led Zeppelin, is the performance, gritty, moving, we feel the meaning, the inflection of voice, the audience is transfixed, you hear a pin drop, this, vs Pink's version, the entertainment, that what I see...
This is one of my all time favorite Zeppelin songs and I am not much for covers at all. But I gotta say, I was impressed. Of course I love Pink, but her voice and presence are amazing. But to cover Robert Plant and get away with it like that, I want to see more!!
It is an interesting question. Plant can play for sure, but it's hard to judge how much of that performance was based on Paige's licks.... Guess Pink just liked the blonde hair, blue eyed 60's surfer look :)
Pink loves rock! Lot of times she respect for the best: Janis Joplin, Led Zeppelin... She is outsider in the music. And i'm glad, that she SHOW FOR THE YOUNG,that such an amazing songs was in the past!!!!

ever sat and watched someone coming up with ideas and you think ........ I would have done that differently this is how I see music been covered by other artist it inst exactly wrong its just another aspect. if people didn't think differently and adapt then nothing would change. sometimes the world is clearer through a fresh pair of eyes! I love this pink cover I think she does a great job of it more edge to the song!
Plant/Page at their absolute best - on designer drugs meant to enhance musical ability - with the best PA known to man - engineered by the most visionary sound engineer of all time - can't even come close to this MASTERFUL rendition of one of their greatest hits. Pink does to this what Hendrix did to Dylan's All Along the Watchtower. Triple thanks for this post - I owe you lunch at the very least.
she can sing any style AND do it very credibly. in florida interview a couple of summers ago, robert plant himself acknowledged that pink certainly knows her rock & roll chops. he was referring to this cover of zep's cover.

But when someone you really love, deep down inside says it, well it just plain hurts. Hurts worse than having your leg cut off by a hacksaw without anesthesia. Or at least I imagine it that way. Nothing you can do. She is going. And a darkness worse than HELL is what you see about to engulf you. Gals, us guys really do feel and hurt and cry (but we don't want anyone to see it) and often we would rather die a thousand deaths than lose one moment with you. He used a piezo pickup on the bride pickup of his Les Paul and blended it with the regular pickups. Fishman makes an exceptional one that will knock your socks off. I have a double neck and use this all the time. Amazing stuff. Hope this helps.
Many folks think Joan Baez did the original version of this song, but it was written by Anne Bredon circa 1958. Robert Plant learned it from a Joan Baez record.
