I'm a little behind the time so I am just discovering how incredible Brandi Carlile is. This is the second time I've heard her sing with pink and my gosh
You both should check out her cover of Elton John's "Mad Man across the Water." But she is such an amazing songwriter too, so I really love her originals (my favorite is probably her performance of "Whatever You Do" on Stephen Colbert.
If people wonder how brave Sinead was. She was the first artist male or female who called out Pope John Paul for all the child abuse that was going on. She did it on stage in the early 90s i want to say 90 or 1991. Shewas demonized by the catholic church in her native Ireland to tghe point priests were telling their congragations to not go to her concerts or by her albums. She didnt back down even when it was costing her money. OVER TIME ALL OF IT CAME OUT. SHE WAS A LIGHT FOR ALL THOSE ABUSED KIDS!!!! May she rest in peace now that she has made the world better than before she came into it
It was a Nun from the Catholic School Sinead attended that encouraged her talent and in essence played a pivotal role in her career.. So like us all Sinead endured Saints and Sinners in her life
Ppl have said this repeatedly and I think it’s sad. It’s not a tribute if they haven’t passed. Sure they could’ve done it before her death… but it’s still a lovely gesture. Have you listened to Chris Cornell’s cover? I think his is so beautiful.

Exactly i only came to know about her after her pressing out people who matter ere not celebrated until they are gone she's really a monster hero a straight talker i really like sneid 😊

I was listening to this song hours before Sinead died & was reading about her life. I think I intuitively knew she was leaving this earth. She missed her baby boy too much to stay They were like one in the same..She was beautifully sensitive & it came through in her voice. I always related to her on so many levels. RIP Sinead O'Connor. Nothing compared to you. 🕊🌹🕊

Beautiful tribute to a beautiful person. She was ahead of her time. I remember watching that video of her feeling like I was watching a work or Art perform a work or Art.
P!nk has such amazing, unique vocals and always pays tribute to other talented singers, songwriters and musicians. Sinead was truly a one-off; magnificent heart-wrenching clear vocals. Now with many other true greats who have gone but will never be forgotten. RIP 💜
I love my Pink forever and I appreciate her for this but no one ever, ever will sing like my O'Connor and it hurts me how people didn't appreciate her when she was still breathing... R.IP. my Senead. ❤
Well said. And I think the great thing about pink is when she does covers she does them with her own twist, not trying to outshine the original but complement it.
Brandi Carlile's harmonies have so much movement, and seem so effortless. They're both very gifted. Beautiful tribute from artists who understand the spirit of Sinéad enough for her spirit to truly echo through their performance.

I was fortunate to witness P!nk and Brandi Carlile's duet of Sinead O'Connor's " Nothing Compares 2U" at Cincinnati's Great American Ball Park on the date of Sinead O'Connor's death. To tell the truth, I hadn't stopped singing this beautiful song since P!nk sang it at her BBC Piano Room performance. ❤
In my opinion, many artists tried to cover this almost unreachable version from Sinead O'Connor, however, feel like nobody ever reached the original version, but it looks to me as if Pink can cover just anything it it is good in her version. Just beautiful.
@@ericgelder1there’s a live cover somewhere on here by Chris Stapleton that’s really wonderful too. He’s done a fair few tributes to some amazing artists at his shows and they’re all worth a listen to despite any recording issues imho
Pink has covered this a lot. Brandi loves doing covers. They’re both beyond incredible song writers, and vocalists. My two faves!(especially love Brandi with the twins❤️) It pays great tribute when the best singers do covers. I love that they did this together. They first did it hours after we all heard of Sinead’s passing.
