It's funny, people hear that first solo and think that they will never hear anything as visceral or transcendent as that ever again in their lives, then the second solo rolls around and boom, life lesson, never say never.

Arguably the greatest guitar solo of all times. The soul and emotion's that scream from his guitar solo is unbelievable.

David Gilmour does not simply play the guitar. He tells a story with it.

"Leo Fender created the Stratocaster and God created David Gilmour to play it."

I was at this concert too at Earls Court. Still remember the journey home with a few friends, none of us spoke for about two hours. The first thing anyone said was "what the hell did we just see?". Got yourself a sub here, great reaction.

It always surprises me to see newer generations reacting to Pink Floyd... That is how great music used to be made, long intros, 10 min songs and all... not 4 min songs made to fit into radio stations time slots... Saw that show Live at the Olympic Stadium in Montréal, Canada in 1994... Best show I have ever seen (followed by MUSE). Keep listening to great music.

No other bands even came close to what Floyd did. I remember hearing Great Gig in the Sky for the first time and being blown away!

I had the privilege of seeing them on this tour, at Three River's Stadium in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. When they opened the second set with "Shine On You Crazy Diamond", I began to silently weep, and did so for the rest of the show, it was so beautiful. I actually wept a bit just now, listening to and watching you reaction.

Rebeka, great reaction. Many years after this the master Dave Gilmour can still deliver. Check out the version from the Royal Albert Hall in 2006 with David Bowie on guest vocals and even more majestically, live from Pompeii in 2017 when Gilmour was 71. Both are as stunning as the Pulse show.

Dave Gilmour 1 of the most underated guitarists of all time, he's up there with Jimi, Eric, Jimmy, Pete, Eddie and not forgetting all the blues guitarists that they emulated

that "in the middle" is the spaceship that transports gilmour home after concerts.

The Beatles took music to new heights. Floyd kicked it into the stratosphere.

I saw the Pulse show live in 1994 at the, then, Giants Stadium in New Jersey. The disco ball went just about not noticed until the moment they trained just about every light in the house on it. The whole stadium burst into rotating sparkles, a much more pronounced affect than in the video. Then the ball started opening revealing this one source of very bright light leaving everybody in the audience mesmerized. A moment you never forget.

Interesting fact: At the end of this show at the Olympic Stadium in Montreal, on my way to the parking lot, I passed behind the stadium and there were four trailers equipped with huge industrial generators. I spoke with a member of the staff, who told me that these generators were needed to provide enough electricity for the show, that the stadium could not meet this huge demand.

One tip about Pink Floyd is that when you hear a change in the music and want to close your eyes, don't look away. That's when you get the big lighting effects.

David Gilmour is the king of the bend and of the emotion,...seen this footage hundreds of times and it only certifies that you don’t have to shred to be one of the goats.He uses highs and lows on the guitar like a master.He is #2 in my book after Jimmy page,...wonderful reaction to to greatest solo of the 20th century.look forward to the next.Thank you!!!

I know because I was there. Giant mirrorball which was hidden during the rest of the concert. It opened up firstly from the bottom and finally from the top. Awesome concert and great reaction. It was also a quadraphonic sound system which took the music around the stadium. You got a great taste in music and I hope you enjoy exploring the Pink Floyd rabbit hole.

David Gilmour's guitar doesn't speak, it emotes. It exudes pure emotion that you feel in the deepest depths of your soul.

I was at the Kansas City show in their 1994 tour. Best F*cking concert EVER!!!

My best friend and I went to see them on this tour at Texas Stadium in April of '94. When that giant mirror ball came down and the lights hit it and lit up the whole place... WOW. We'd never seen anything like that, ever. I've seen lots of amazing concerts over the years, but that moment is burned into my brain. So super thankful to have gotten to see them since that was their last big tour.

This song changed my life and led me to one of my greatest achievements . When I heard that solo I was blown away and I knew I had to learn how to play the guitar 9 years later still going strong with the axe

Rebeka, you’re not only young and beautiful but you seem to know the words and feel the song. David Gilmore didn’t just play the guitar, he put soul into your soul. I first saw Pink Floyd live in the early 70’s and my life was changed forever.✌️ Had to add: Finally someone who knows the rules when listening to Pink Floyd. The first two and most important...Do not pause or talk!!! The third is not as critical but headphones should be worn. The 4th is just a suggestion.....when listening to Most Floyd albums, it’s best to start from beginning to the end. Newer listeners should start with “Dark Side of the Moon”. That’s when David came in and things really changed. Enjoy your journey.

Now who does not love this performance another of the worlds greatest bands not a song but a ride through time and life sucks you in blows you out time and time again leaves you in a trance. Great reaction Rebeka your a Star : )

The other thing about this long solo is that there are points during the solo where you think he's about to wrap it up, but he doesn't, so there's a good tease going on. It drags you into thinking, "no, it can't be over yet"!

This is an all time epic, and it will still be playing 100 years from now.

Normally the mirror ball is above the screen on the stage. And it opens like a flower. Here it was suspended. I was seated just to the left of the mixing desk; so immediately under the ball There was a black curtain covering the ball from the majority of the audience so it wasnt until it was lit up that they knew it was there. Working in London Ive been lucky to see everyone from the Stones, Who, Floyd, Queen, right through to White Stripes and Oasis. During the period Momentary Lapse of Reason to Division Bell was lucky enough to see them at London Docklands twice, Wembley Stadium, and Earls Court six times. This is the best concert Ive ever attended.

I always been a pink floyd fan, but the first time I came across the Pulse Album I was on LSD. I think I watched the whole concert 3 times that day, and comfortably numb, sorrow, and high hopes a couple times more. I wish I was around for that age of perfected music.

The pinnacle for PF fans! I traveled all over the West Coast of the US, and even a few times in Canada. Saw them over a dozen times. When I was in the Navy I would listen to them before every mission, no matter where we were in the world. They were a comfort to me in very difficult times. Never failed me. I’m still alive by the grace of God, and will be a fan for life.

Your face when the mirror ball opened up, ha ha :) That was exactly my face when I saw it for the first time, only that I was just few meters away from it. (yeah, I'm showing off :) ) No really, it was mind blowing, the powerful sound, the lights..I was totally overwhelmed. But the first shocking thing was (when the final solo starts) when the big circular screen started to lean towards Gilmour. You can see it slowly changing its position from vertical to almost horizontal, like a spaceship pointing its beams at him. Oh yeah, and at the end it goes back to vertical.

Pretty sure your expression was my expression as I sat in the audience in a show during that solo. The prop was just a huge mirrored ball that was concealed in the ceiling until that very moment. It opened up to reveal something that looked an awful lot like a lighthouse light. The crowd just went nuts. Great show. Bravo for reacting to it.

I'd pretty much got the studio release of The Wall on a loop in my brain. So I was just bopping along to this. And then... Just a little pinprick - no more AAAAAAAAAAH and I was blown away. Then that solo. And I think people massively overlook the epic drum breaks thoughout. In a parallel universe he's still playing and people just see to his physical needs in shifts.

It invites you in, then it embraces you and before you know it you’re completely submerged.

I got to see them live twice at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri in 1988, and 1994. A deaf or a blind person would have enjoyed their performances, but to see and hear them live is almost a sensory overload!

When the federal building was bombed I went there before all the keep out fencing. That night it was a cold rain. As I turned the corner to see this horror Comfortably Numb came on the radio.

I was at the 2nd British Rock Festival in 1972, It was held on an island in the middle of the Rhine River in Germersheim, Germany. 3 Days. Pink Floyd, Atomic Rooster, Buddy Miles, Country Joe, Doors, Faces, Rory Gallagher, Humble Pie, Kinks, New Riders, Savoy Brown, Uriah Heep, Wishbone Ash - That's all I can remember but there were many more.

I was fortunate enough to see The Wall tour in Los Angeles back in 1979. I can tell you, that was the best concert I have ever seen. It was truly one for the ages.

That in the middle was (and might still be) the world record largest disco ball....Pink Floyd has held a few records and several "Firsts" in music history....

Your expression at the blooming stage of the disco ball was epic! That ball in my humble interpretation represents the light shooting out from the music. Bright crisp and beautiful. The blooming stage of the ball represents comprehension absorption. Then the extension as the solo wraps up is like a spaceship of ascension. "You like this? Come up for take off! Lets GO!" All my life. Every car stereo. Every headphones. Every cell phone. I have heard this song played. For this fan. Never gets old. First heard on the Wall on cassette I thought it was SICK! It blew my mind. Then saw it on Delicate Sound of Thunder vhs concert film, then waited for the Pulse tour by which time I was in the navy out at sea while they toured near my home station. But then this...Pulse came out. Mind. Blown. All. Over. Again. Thank you Floyd for the music and many, MANY, memories!

saw this 5 times. 200 ton stage , 200,000 watts of power , 4 sets of 32 wireless speakers. out doors was even better with gold lasers and a little more fireworks after " run like hell" a must watch. second half in Mich. they play the all of dark side of the moon, first since the 70"s

I'm in my 50s now, and have been to many many concerts, but this show at Earls Court will forever be the greatest I've been to 👌❤️

The mirror ball was especially popular in the 1970's/early 80's disco. Pink Floyd highlighted that mirror ball and firstly made it in to a balloon shape then what seemed to be a spaceship. The lighting department had a large budget for the show.

You got to love when guitar solo is longer than modern day albums.
