Call me a snob or whatever you like, but the moment someone, before even hearing it, crys about a song being 9 mins long, you know they are not a fan of music, i'm guessing hes more of a radio listener than a record buyer. And if 9mins is too long for him then i pity his boyfriend/girlfriend.

Love the reaction from the guy in the middle (Mike?); yes, fantastic performance! The guy on our far right: since you 'love' these 9 minute performances from Pink Floyd that 'put you to sleep', then I highly recommend you take in "Dogs" off of "Animals", another masterpiece performance of a short duration of 17+ minutes......surely, will put you into a coma.......and then, after you arise from your slumber, I also recommend you experience, "Echoes", off of "Meddle", which is the ENTIRE Side 2 of this 1970 album, one of 6 albums BEFORE "Dark Side of the Moon".........this one here will put you on the wrong side of the dirt........I would say you have the attention span of a 5-year old, but that's an insult to a 5-year old........more like a 2-year old!! I get that you're not a fan, but you don't need to insult us hard-core Pink Floyd fans with such rubbish as 'falling asleep after 6 more minutes", absolute nonsense

Back then, Pink Floyd filled the Earls Court seven times within 14 days always with a day off to check the gigantic equipment and I saw this concert in 1994 in Cologne's soccer stadium, together with 75,000 fans. With my 60 years now I have been to dozens of partly very big concert events but what I was able to experience in Cologne has beaten everything. At that time a good friend of mine lived about 500m as the crow flies from the stadium and could see the arena directly from his balcony. He later told me , when the block with the encores: Wish you where here Comfortably Numb and especially Run like hell - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0dB6MQlFLu8.html - was played, the whole stadium looked from the outside like the colorful glittering spaceship at the end of Spielberg's "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" after landing, because the light show could of course be seen from the outside through the distances between lower, middle and upper tier. After nearly 2 hours of watching and hearing it was clear to me that there is probably no more or better. And of course the overall experience of light and sound is inextricably linked. For example, when the sphere was still closed, it rotated and turned the stadium into a huge disco by the spotlights directed at it. When it opened, lasers were directed at it from various positions, reflected by the mirrors on it, which in turn were reflected back by mirrors fixed around the stadium roof and other mirrors distributed around the stadium near the ground, creating indescribable effects. You can't see this on the concert video because they made these setups only in stadiums and really must have been there because it's literally indescribable ! In the preannouncement of the concert it was promised that, regardless of where one´s position in the stadium is, listen to at least stereo if not even quatro. They implemented this advertising promise in such a comprehensive and impressive way that I will never forget this bombastic sound experience together with this indescribable light show. And to this day, when I hear "Comfortably Numb", especially during this inconceivable guitar solo i get goose bumps all over my body and it leads me to another dimension ! EVERYTIME❗👍 Many wonder how the name "Comfortably Numb" came about. David Gilmore had injured his back shortly before a concert, whereupon a doctor was requested. He gave him an injection against the pain and something to relax the muscles. After the injection, he suddenly felt exactly the way he had felt as a child when he was sick. His hands felt like two filled balloons and overall he felt very very pleasantly dizzy after getting medicine. The problem was that with this feeling in his head and of course in his hands, he had to go on stage to play a concert. What can we say, the man is a professional and still rocked it out 👍 PS : Guys, let's face it. You all look like you're listening to a funeral orator. 🤔😉

Maybe it's a generational thing. Sorry it wasn't your cup of tea. I was lucky enough to see Pink Floyd back in their prime more than once and it was just absolutely mind-blowing. The show and the music were front and center, not the personalities of the group. As you're watching Gilmore play that amazing solo, there is no flash--just mastery of the instrument. The music had substance. The performers are strong musicians with more than a large dose of inquisitiveness about the production of music around themes of interest to them.

David Gilmore is a genius but it isn't "Pink Floyd performing Comfortably Numb" without Roger Waters. I went to this concert tour in San Diego in April 94 and it was here i heard about Kurt Cobain committing suicide. When Gilmore mentioned the passing of Kurt and devoted the concert to the dousing of the light that was Cobain's death the entire audience wept like babies, Gilmore included. I still can't think about it without getting emotional. "Ok, just a little pin prick. There'll be no more AAAAAH!!!!"

Well Mr Grey,Pink Floyd is definitely not for you, perhaps a bit of ABBA or a boy band or two would be more to your liking? I was at this concert and it blew me away from first minute to last. Today’s “music” is a steaming pile of shite compared to these icons and many others from that era.
