I’ve been listening to PF since 1971. I am 76 years old, 77 next month, and I can remember when this album came out. I was blown away. Never heard such music before. I saw them live twice. In Hamilton Ontario Canada and Syracuse NY, USA. Time flies. I was young and dumb then. Now I am a wise old grandfather of 4. My road ahead is getting shorter and shorter. I can reflect on my life now and I’ve done 100 dumb things but God got me through every one. I thank Him for where I am now in life. Pink Floyd will be played at my funeral. Some things I’ve learned in my travels through life are, be good to people, give them a 2nd chance, help people when you can, be faithful to your spouse and love your family unconditionally. If you’re listening to this music and reading my post, you’re probably a person I would love to know. Maybe we’ll meet on the other side (the good side I hope). Peace out, Tom. P.S. RU-vid "Rumpus Band" then go down to the 5th song. You'll be blown away. A kid band singing Comfortably Numb. I just discovered them.
We are far apart geographically but very close musically. I'm 35 years old, I grew up listening to Pink Floyd. I never had the opportunity to see them together but I had the opportunity to attend a concert by David Gilmour on the Rattle that lock tour and Roger Waters on the Us and Them tour, it was an achievement for me, a moment that I will take with me for a lifetime. It would be a pleasure to make small talk listening to pink floyd with you my friend. Thank you internet, thank you Pink Floyd for providing moments like this. Greetings from Brazil!
Really agrees - this isn´t just as smooth voice, as later performances... - also the voice in "Great gig in the sky" is not near the performance of Clare Torry
I saw the Dark Side Of The Moon tour at Winterland in San Francisco in 1972, with Echoes performed as an encore. It was without doubt one of the best performances I've ever witnessed. Timeless.
Pink Floyd isn't just a band and their music isn't just music!! It literally opens your eyes and your mind, changing what you though was reality by elevating your consciousness! It becomes a part of who you are as a human being, and I for one will cherish that part until the day I die!
In my opinion this era is the best era for Pink Floyd. All four members contributing. No extras besides the female backing vocals and Dick Perry on saxophone. This is Pink Floyd!
I would go so far saying that some of the live versions are better than the overpolished versions that came out from the album. The jazz and blues influences are stronger, some other parts such as Money rock harder (not present here), the guitar solos are meaner.
still the most Amazing album produced IMHO.. Ever I've seen Dylan, Bowie, and Super Tramp, and would still give an arm and a leg to have seen these blokes in the Round 💯%
Check out Porcupine Tree on RU-vid. Their earlier material is somewhat Floyd-influenced. A few examples : The Sky Moves Sideways, Time Flies and Stars Die. Definitely worth a listen
Gilmour’s opinion about Roger, as stated in Rock Compact Disc Magazine, September 1992, is as follows: “He had developed his own limited or very simple style. He was never very keen on improving himself as a bass player, and half the time I would play bass on the records because I would tend to do it quicker. Right back to those early records; I mean, at least half the bass on all recorded output is me anyway. Well, I think it’s been said, but it’s certainly not something we go around advertising. Rog used to come in and say, ‘Thank you very much’ to me once in a while for winning him bass-playing polls.”
@@gsn794 Who's playing bass at this concert. They're quite good. I think Dave was probably exaggerating greatly in that interview, There was a lot of ill will.
What a magical time for an incredible band. All four members contributed to making the most iconic album in the history of rock. Sadly that unity did not last.
@Dad4 Apparently except ridiculous feuds from the two main guys in the band, who show the whole world- and their dedicated fans- that they are so immature and childish that they would carry this feud and bad feelings to their goddamn graves. I forgot to add the word STUBBORN. With these guys and their feud it deserves to be in caps.
Well, I was at this actual concert in London and remember vividly how the whole lighting, pyrotechnics and video effect at the time and the brilliant musicianship completely blew me away ! Till then I had followed Genesis, ELP and Yes from their beginnings, but this one concert changed everything for me and most PR music followers. This album and these concerts that year took everything to a new level....never to be repeated I might add. Great times and great memories...Thanks for uploading....Melvyn Ford
I am truly in awe of you and your experience. I wish I saw Pink Floyd back then, I wish I saw Genesis back then. Feel reassured that you are a lucky man
I have to admit, seeing Genesis live as a support band only to Lyndesfarne on a cinema stage in SE London when they first started doing live shows was also awe inspiring ! Pete in his weird costumes and the songs they played were incredible...especially Suppers Ready and Musical Box I remember. Great years I was lucky to be part of...M J Ford
I"m 70 and have been listening to PF my whole life, have all their studio albums, and play their albums regularly . Never seen them live , and that's one of my regrets.
I understand. I never got to see them live until the Momentary Lapse of Reason Tour! It was awesome, but still regretted that I never saw the original lineup play! They played the Animals tour in my city, but I was too young, and really knew nothing about them at the time! (1976), Then it was 3 years later before they did the Wall concerts, but these were only in New York and LA, California, and being a high school senior, from Louisville Ky, did not have the money to afford this!
The best album from the best legendary band forever…I wish they all could still be here putting out the music 🎼 we never got a chance to witness because of life, love, and frustration from the band mates…..❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I was in that show. Half of it actually. I went there without a ticket because only black market tickets which were too expensive for me were available. So i just stayed around listening from outside along with a bunch of other guys. Then half the way through the show a kindly man opened a side door and we got inside. There were no seats except for some above the stage and i could hardly see half of it as the PA speaker column hid the right side. But it was much better than nothing.
I was born in 1974 and I grew up listening to Pink Floyd, my 1st love in music ❤❤❤ and David Gilmour is the reason why I started playing guitar when I was only 7 years old
I attended a Pink Floyd concert in Brussels in 1974 when they unveiled DSOTM. Blew me away. Nearly 50 years later attended a tribute act concert- PF Experience. Blew me away again, the album is timeless.
6years ago I was in a 10000 capacity tent 5 guys from 4 pf tribute bands jammed this so perfect better than in their own groups the ladysolo was sung by one of them out of this world like it was reaaaaaaaal
This is always my favorite Album of All Time!!!!!!! For me can't Never get tried of this album. Love This Album, The Darkside Of The Moon FOREVER!!!!!!!!!:)
I bought this album for the song Money. in 1973. I played the whole thing on my 8 track player and didn't know what to make of it? 50 years later it is my favorite of all tle albums.
I bought the album around the same time and still have it. My favorite album? Toss up between that and The Wall. Bought that album in 1980 and still have it.
I was. 11 when I first heard them coincidentally in a library in 1975. Back then, people could choose a vinyl record in public libraries, , and there were headphones for everyone and chairs. and I just sat there and heard the great gig in the sky by coincidence. Someone else was listening to the dark side of the moon. When I heard that, I was completely overwhelmed, and Pink Floyd became my favorite music for my entire life. I saw them 1980 in Dortmund, in one of 7 concerts in a row of The Wall. because the show was so big, they choosed the biggest hall in Germany and they only played in that hall. When I look back, all of the bands I saw back then, have been great. The best thing I did when I was a teen. I knew it was the right thing, and today I am glad I saw all of these Bands. Ac DC with bon Scott, van Halen, queen on "the game" tour Nazareth 2 times, Saga, and a lot more. Pink Floyd is the one, I never want to miss. I am glad that I did it.
In a few months time this vid will be 50yrs old. Man dosent that make some of you feel your age, lol. Pink Floyd are eternal, this vid proves it, damn good upload Emile. ⚒⚒⚒⚒⚒
I’m retired in Thailand. Audio Engineer. Built Fox Sports, nominated 3 times, one oscar. 100% of my life long love of engineering and music is layed on the doorstep of this album, and more so, this show. I got to work with my heros , the Delicate Production Company, who were responsible for the world renowned band “Supertamp” Nothing like it before or since ☮️
I saw this concert Pink Floyd "Dark Side Of The Moon " @ Roosevelt Stadium New Jersey 1973 on 4 hits of LSD , floated away in a big bubble to the Monument in Washington D.C. best concert of my 65 years on Earth ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, The Rock Doktor
I was in Prague'94 on PF concert, Division Bell tour, it was amazing, I was 24 years old, now 51 :) and still love David and Pink Floyd, few days ago I was on Australian PF Show - Dark Side of The Moon tour in Wrocław, Poland, concert was fantastic, I was a bit moved when I heard the first sounds...
Summer 77..16 years old.left my summer job on Wall st,hopped the subway and popped a hit of acid on my way to a friend’s place who was blasting Dark side on Bose speakers..it was quite a night!!
Just happy to hear that lady who sings backup I think it's the song Us and Them she said either God is looking down and smiling on her or the devil is looking up and smiling at her she never heard of Pink Floyd or anyting just at the right place at the right time unbelievable God bless you all thank you very much Pink Floyd I've enjoyed your music since I was a teenager I'm 61 now guys peace and love you all Rock on
Seria bacana trazerem alguma música do Pink Floyd, tal qual alguns filmes e séries fizeram com Metallica e Led Zeppelin e apresentarem a nova geração
I was 10+ years old when the album came out. Not sure of my age when I first heard it but I'm sure I was a young teen. Like you, I should have seen them in the late 70s, 80s, and post Waters. Watching this live video in '74 brings me way back. At least I can imagine what it would have been like to see them in concert. Love it!
@@BrianTX409 here me being sad that I wasn't born in the UK instead of Iran and in 50s instead of late 80s, just I could have seen them live again and again and again. I'm so grateful for the little live shows we have, 4-5 of great quality like Delicate sound of thunder, Pulse, Knebworth, Venice and even this one is better the average bootleg. I had this tab open a few days ago and I just clicked on it, it reloaded and immediately brought a smile to my face, hearing

Saw them three times around this time, Rainbow, Brighton Dome, and Earls Court. Things I remember; the band was very unassuming no real spotlights just play the music, a bootleg of the Rainbow concert was on sale in Brighton a few weeks later, the light show was phenomenal for its time like three football stadium lighting gantries on pneumatic lifts, first time I saw fireworks at a concert, no extra musicians jut the four and I think the Blackbirds backing, Earls Court had surround sound and we were sat in front of one of the speaker banks - never want to hear Malcolm Muggeridge that loud ever again. Always an event but always the music first.
Talk about having flashbacks... Did a pre-order of the CD due out 3/24/2023. Can't wait. I have been picking up live music from David and Roger the last few years. It was great to see them in concert.
First Pink Floyd album 1976. I was 15 years old. Fist Pink Floyd show 1977 , 21st row Madison square garden.I saw the wall two nights, and other Pink Floyd and they always d wish u we’re here and dark side, except the wall show of course. I’m grateful to have had this chance and I won’t forget to say syd is in my opinion one of the greatest magic songwriting music composer . I love Pink Floyd live shows they are magic to say the least
Im a fan of many many bands and have many favourite albums and memories ...But if you told me I could have just one LP to play for eternity it would be Dark side of the moon
I started listening to PF when I was 9 years old and my older cousin turned me on to them and grass, I am 59 now and will never grow tired of listening to their albums with the live version of Dark Side of the Moon being my favrite of all of them they are a timeless Band and their music will be listened to until the end of time
