I wish the guitar solo would last forever. A true masterpiece of rock history with probably the best guitarist in the world. David Gilmour is a true legend!

The best band of all time, with the best guitarist along with the best back vocal.

I wish I could go back in time, to this date and be there just to see rehearsal and hear Gilmour’s soulful music

This song always reminds me of my father who passed away on my 11th bday in 2000. He adored this band soooo much & I've never looked back. Pink Floyd's music always gets me. 😩😭❤️

This sounds even better than had it been done in a recording studio. It’s that live sound without the audience noise in the background.

Incredible is not enough to describe DG. He can make any guitar sing…..and he is one of the greatest of all time. I love to hear Jeff Beck, Prince, Dawayne Bailey, but DG surpasses these greats in all aspects. I listen to Pink Floyd as much as I can, especially after I’ve had a bad day with my wife who sadly has vascular dementia. Bless her, and bless DG.

David David Gilmour stated: There was a wonderful moment of optimism when the Wall came down - the release of Eastern Europe from the non-democratic side of the socialist system. But what they have now doesn't seem to be much better. Again, I'm fairly pessimistic about it all. I sort of wish and live in hope, but I tend to think that history moves at a much slower pace than we think it does. I feel that real change takes a long, long time Despite Gilmour's statements to the contrary, the lyrics have often been read as a reflection on the bitter and estranged partnership Gilmour had with former bandmate Roger Waters, who was the driving force behind the band's album The Wall. By this interpretation, the "Great Day for Freedom" would be the day Waters left the band, giving the other members freedom to determine the band's future direction. Gilmour commented on this reading: "I'm quite happy for people to interpret The Division Bell any way they like. But maybe a note of caution should be sounded because you can read too much into it. 'A Great Day for Freedom', for example, has got nothing to do with Roger or his 'wall'. It just doesn't. What else can I say?" Live The song was performed by the band on selected dates of The Division Bell tour, and is available on the Pulse (1995) live album, but was omitted from the Pulse VHS and DVD. Gilmour performed it at his solo semi-acoustic concerts in 2002 which can be seen on the David Gilmour in Concert (2002) DVD. The song also made just one appearance during Gilmour's 2006 On an Island Tour, at the final show in Gdańsk, Poland; this performance can be found on the live album/DVD Live in Gdańsk (2008). My dude never played this solo enough. But when he did. It was magic.

Makes me wish I had taken the opportunity in my younger years to go to one of their concerts. Definitely regret it! Glad we can still enjoy their music.

Everyone was in top form at the Pulse concert. And the Division Bell album is the masterpiece, comparable to the DSOTM album. I wish they had performed the whole TDB album in full in the concert. Maroon, Poles Apart, and the Lost For Words were overlooked.

I could listen to this for a very long time and probably never get tired...just fantastic PF / never disappointed!!!

I love the moment after the line "there'll be no safety in numbers, when the right one walks out of the door", as DG turns to look at Rick Wright - the camera also settles on Rick. This line references Rick's departure from the band during the recording of The Wall, which left Gilmour much more alone in facing down Roger Waters.
