Not sung by a band member. They brought a friend in to sing the part. And the line “btw which one’s pink?” Is a real line a music exec asked them.

Guest vocals by Roy Harper. Floyd weren't really happy with trying to tie down the vocals, so the boys asked Roy to step in.... Strange but true: while recording WYWH album, their former band mate Syd Barrett turned up unexpectedly at the studio. No-one initially recognised him since he left in 1968 seven years before.

In 2054, you’ll be telling your grandkids about a must-listen band called Pink Floyd. And they’ll think it’s your old time music, until they take the time to listen, and have their minds blown just like your’s was, and millions before and after you !! Welcome to the Machine !!! Had to light up one of my favorite cigars for this one. I think the jump in subscribers is because there are a lot of oldtimers who cruise youtube looking for a younger generation discovering the amazing music of our youth. I know I love seeing the reactions. There will be "purists" that say you must listen to the tracks in order or this way or that. Fuck them, you keep doing it your way. The important thing is we can tell from your reaction and comments that you "get it". I'd like to suggest another the last track from the Animals album, "Pigs". Just a few other incredible groups were: Emerson, Lake and Palmer, Yes, Genesis and Moody Blues. The list is extensive as the 60's and 70's were awesome, from what I recall.

The song is sung by a guest vocalist, Roy Harper who was supposed to be recording his own album next door but kept wandering in to see what the Floyd were up to, Roger couldn't get it to sound right so Roy volunteered, Roger now insists that he would have done it better if he had just kept at it ,typical Roger.

Hi Mark, firstly thank you for bringing Floyd to a younger audience that may never hear Floyd. I totally get how you can't describe how Floyd makes you feel, you can't explain the unexplainable, simply put, you've been pinked. I'm 55, I first got into Floyd in the mid 80's and I was fortunate enough to see them live in '88 and '94. If you ever get chance, go see "UK Pink Floyd experience" live, I can highly recommend them, their attention to detail is second to none. Please do a reaction to "run like hell" from pulse, it will fry your brain!

When this was released we used to listen to this late at night after work. We would pile in the car and ride around for hours while Wish You Were Here looped on the 8-track at full volume! On a cultural note, in the '70's your car was the safest place to get away with doing stuff that you shouldn't be doing, if you know what I mean...

You are amongst a growing number of young reactors doing a deep dive into 70’s Classic Rock music. Some I’ve seen are barely out of their teens in age. It’s fun to see you discover this. Something magical happened during that decade that produced hundreds of amazing songs. The 70’s truly was the rock golden age. Your exploration of Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin will take awhile, so take your time. But I’m certain that this will only make you crave to know what other brilliant music exists beyond those guys. And that pond is deep. It’s a shame that record companies use copyright so forcefully on reactors. As one who watches reactions on RU-vid, it actually triggers me to go and buy a digital copy of the song I just heard when I realize I don’t have that one on my phone. Reactor’s actually encourage record sales - especially to the old stuff whose sale’s dropped off years ago. Blocking reactors isn’t protecting revenue, it’s stifling it! Well done again. Looking forward to the next reaction.

You know, now that most modern pop music is not guitar-driven the way rock was in the 60’s, 70’s, so many young people don’t understand the allure of the electric guitar. Back then, it was SEXY for a guy to play guitar. Many young teenage guys wanted to learn guitar to “get the chicks”. Those guys who became known as the “guitar gods”……It was about talent and skill, but it was also ALLOT about swag and charisma. I think you intuit that at a visceral level, Hector. Rock was sexy music.

I get it. The sad look on your face when it ends, says it all. Find the final cut album. The last of the three albums. Starting with the wall, dark side of the moon, and the final cut. It all has a story throughout

Bought the album on cassette tape when it came out. First time listening had it cranked up in my 57 chevy pickup. Thought the machine "ate" the tape at the end 7:19. Lots of swerving and swearing. I remember exactly where I was on the road - just like I remember where i was at the JFK assassination. Thanks for the memory, m8!🛻

Hi, you've probably seen this suggestion from others but I really think you should react to "Roundabout" by Yes. Loving the real reactions, keep on going.

In high school I would put the Pink Floyd Animals album on and go to sleep listening to that crazy shit. Still listen to that crazy shit. Hooked, addicted…whatever, it’s all beautiful music.

The lyrics to have a cigar was done by by a friend to PF, Roy Harper. He was recording in an an adjacent studio in Abby Road. He was hanging out out in PF recording studio, and Rodger and David had difficulty doing the song, Roy asked if he would give it a go … the rest is is history

The singer on this one was hired. You should hear "Dust" & Captain Beyond.
