The backup guitarist name is Tim Renwick and he's not really a backup guitarist! He actually played with another famous group with Al Stewart in an album called Year of the Cat! The Pink Floyd guys like to let all of their backup singers and musicians have their moment on stage and they always have therefore they play with the greatest of humility even though they are the stars of their concert tours!!!
He's done more than that. He's toured with many marquee artists, including Elton John. I believe he was the lead guitarist for another band... Quicksilver Messenger Service, maybe? I'd have to check. In any case, he's a fantastic guitarist and a perfect complement to David. Far better of a fit than Snowy White, imo.
Thanks for your reaction, you bring me back to my younger years--I got tickets for this Pulse show, and it was amazing to watch them live. You brought me back to this show, 30 years ago. Don't miss the song time from P-Floyd (any version)--but the one with lyrics is good for a first listen--listen to it every 5to 10 years in the future, and it will mean something different to you every time. I first listened to Time in the early 80's (U was 12, then again at 22, 32, 42 & 52 years old)--you'll understand what I mean--it makes you think a lot about years passing by very fast. Have a nice day IslandGirl.
Saw this experience 5 times inside and out. people that were not there have no idea what it was like. This one is 14 days in a row at Earl's Court. their last concert July 14,1994 they came out of break and played start to finish DSOTM for the first time since 1974.
@jim1125-cv6yg That's the show I was at. It was July 15, though. July 14th was the first night at Pontiac Silverdome, July 15th was the second night and was when they played Dark Side. We didn't know until On the Run segued into Time. That's when the audience realized what was happening. The place went crazy. They had a few more North American shows at Giants' Stadium in New Jersey after that, before the break, then the European leg started.
So glad you like Pink Floyd so much! And spoiler: they got no bad songs. ;) You really got to check out all of their work! So, see you at another Pink Floyd reaction. Greetings from Belgium. :)
You are listening to one of the best bands of all time with an unprecedented solid sound, a great majestic band that has managed to reach thousands of souls of its followers.
