If thats meant as a diss to Roger then ur not a real Pink Floyd fan. Mind you the debate of Gilmour and Waters should end. Floyd cant go without any of both.
Schwertfisch13 Awesome. I have more stuff to put on there. A whole new collection of video and music. I'm collecting more stuff and then I'll upload it all. 👍 I ripped the CDs from the new Box Set too. Lol
This solo is all the teenage angst, all the grief against big tech and pharma, all the hate against the big unknowns you oppose but get ruled by encapsulated into roughly a minute of music. Genius.
Personal favorite aside from Comfortably Numb. It’s so harsh and vitriolic, this is the kind of stuff that makes me wanna start rioting in the streets.
besides the solo itself being very good for me, it has one of the best bases I've ever heard, for me it makes the solo even more special (the opposite case for me would be another brick in the wall, I already think the solo is a little dull, but that base makes the solo a lot worse)
@@miguelaodelao when I talk about the base I'm not talking exactly about the bass, but about all the instruments that make up the base of the solo, but in fact the bass of this song is sensational, it just shows the great virtue that david has to compose and play.
i feel like Gilmour is destroying Roger Waters preemptively before he has fully established Pink Floyd as a Waters enterprise. Roger Waters is an excellent bassist and composer but an asshole for taking advantage of Syd, belittling Nick Mason and Rick Wright to the point where they had no confidence in a band that was at it's true (non-commercial) height with everyone contributing. Davey is our hero in the Pink Floyd epic. He stood up to Waters in a way he couldn't understand. by using music he felt, while Waters focused on profit by focusing on music other people felt.
Waters is actually a pretty average bass player, there are bass tracks on many songs actually done by David because even he is a better player than Roger. Roger is only really a lyricist and ideas man. Good composer, not a great player.
