Yes but had to end the piece by calling it a childish regression - as snobbish and condescending as one could possibly be. He comes across as rather bigoted and old-fashioned in my judgement, a product of his time, but so charmingly so - so it's quaint and endearing, at least from a nostalgic perspective. At last, to see this this interview in clear definition. Thank you. I was a child in the 60s but remember only too well what an overpowering social and cultural revolution it was. There's nothing wrong with Hans Keller questioning these upstarts. Had they had longer they could've discussed how they "painted" with abstract sound etc. Syd was primarily a visual artist and quite capable of discussing culture with Keller had he wished. 99% of the country was shocked by the aural onslaught of distortion and overpowering rhythm of rock music. Keller, used to harmonic order rather than splintering chaos, articulated the opinion of the majority. And in some respects it was "infantile" - but that's useful if informed by intelligence and authentic creative brilliance like Syd's. God, that man was beautiful!!

I remember Pete Townshend saying that when Pink Floyd came around, the bands started getting "scary". You can kind of see that here, as their music even at this early point is dark, foreboding, electronic, meant for flickering shadows and the cold icy blackness of space. Indeed, the Syd era might actually be some of their darkest music.

Hans Keller: "Let me first turn to Roger. I want to ask one fundamental question, of which I'll tell you viewers may not be quite aware of the significance of it because they didn't hear all of it. Why does it all got to be so terribly loud? For me, frankly, its too loud. I just can't bare it. I happened to have grown up with the string quartet which is a bit softer. So, uh, why does it got to be so loud?" Roger: "Well, I don't think that it HAS to be. But I mean, that's the way we like it. And uh, we didn't grow up in the string quartet so I guess that could be one of the reasons why its loud. I mean, it doesn't sound terribly loud to us."

Pink Floyd is for me one of the greatest Rock groups that has ever existed. When very young the band used their inspiration and talent to experiment with different sounds and instruments, not afraid of pushing back boundaries, continuously building up originality and sophistication while inventing new concepts. Their heart warming melodies and strange sounds give the listener the feeling of experiencing an almost perfect work of art! The music, lyrics and visuals tell a wonderful or dramatic story! The lyrics are always subtle and relevant to the theme they explore, it's all perfect! Pink Floyd's music is timeless, beautiful spiritual voyages that you can experience over and over again. That's why many new modern artists today are looking back at the psychedelic era that existed at the end of the sixties for ideas and inspiration. As far as music is concerned some hippies really got it right at the time, Pink Floyd is a good example!

I wonder what color Syd's shirt was... I love the style and would definitely wear something like that. Aside from that trivial note, it's really cool to have this footage, they sound great live, and I like how the interviewer was respectful even if he didn't "get" it.

Roger Waters was even back then the master of sound effects and screams. I only became recently aware of this unique talent of his due to a video on RU-vid ironically. Including a bit from "Another Brick in the Wall" which I always assumed was a sound effect, but it's actually Roger doing this sort of scream from the back of his throat.

If you haven't already, you HAVE to listen "Careful With That Axe, Eugene". Roger's best screams ever! lol.

So many years watching this chopped, in low quality, in many channels, or even before when I downloaded it from some olds P2P, and finally, offIcial HD, enyoing the Barrett´s Pink Floyd in all his glory: thanks Pink Floyd

Saw them in New Orleans in ‘94. Show opened with this song and it was much improved but really cool to hear this early version!

I feel it's a great gift that Syd's creativity was so well expressed and built upon before the mental illness took his mind- schizophrenia affects the most creative and leaves one wondering if one trait requires the other, if one causes the other or if madness and creativity are completely separate parts of one mind.OR if there is any generalization to be made in the first place. Why question genius? No matter how long it was productive, it produced great things - Syd's genius is a gift that many more generations will appreciate and enjoy.

Una nostalgia recordar los inicios de Pink Floyd, los recuerdos fluyen en mi mente, el tiempo no los ha podido borrar. Qué años aquellos. Saludos a la banda.

Most obnoxious interviewer aside: Syd had these big, innocent eyes and seems open, vulnerable and almost childlike. The interviewer seems to be drawn in by that and his obstinate attitude changes. Syd really was one of the Fae, he was magical.

Roger Waters didn't grow up with a string quartet. But he did use a Viennese quartet in Amused to Death
