Big Ambitions continues and on a bit of a whim Bernard buys a van! It's a nice van, quite roomy, and Bernard gets to choose the colour so naturally he goes for a splendid hot pink! Because why wouldn't he? Driving the van is quite tricky though...
We use our van to move quite a lot of stock from the wholesalers back to our two stores, which does mean that Big B's Bouquets is fully stocked and ready to go! Granted, the walls and floor need some work but at least there's some stuff to sell.
Initially Bernard works in the florists but we're able to hire some more staff to work there, plus we hire an extra person with a little bit of a plan to train them up in customer service!
However we do suffer a little bit of a medical issue (self-imposed) that finds Bernard in hospital with a bit of a bill to pay...

Your bank balance is tiny, but your ambitions are big.
With a little help from your uncle, you get an apartment and your first job. But then it's up to you to achieve success and take over New York City any way you like.
Slowly build multiple small businesses, grow them into huge corporations, or carve your own unique path - the possibilities are limitless in this vast business sandbox. You've never played anything like this!
Go from a small apartment and public transport to luxury suites, fast cars and designer furniture. Put your money into investment funds and real estate. Succeed, fail, rebuild. But remember to take care of yourself, sleep and stay happy on your rise to the top.
Go from nothing to the most prominent tycoon in New York. Start a business, work smart, make it thrive and enjoy your life. How do you want to be successful? How far can you push it? How long can you make it last?
Start your own gift shop, supermarket, coffee shop, law firm, clothing store, liquor store, florist, and more. You decide what success is - whether it’s a single shop, a chain of fast-food restaurants, a huge corporation, or making millions developing websites.
Take out a loan, rent a building, design the logo, renovate the store, get stock, manage your money, hire staff, and build your infrastructure. Soon, you may have to start importing products from the harbour and distributing them through a network of warehouses.
A bigger business means managers. Hire HR Managers, Logistics Managers, and Purchasing Agents. They all need desks and computers, so you’ll need a fancy headquarters.
Need a delivery truck? Travel to a dealer and buy one. Need food? Go to a supermarket, but make sure you have a refrigerator at home. Big Ambitions is a life sim where your character has to physically interact with the world to survive and succeed.
Enter any building in New York and buy it. Go from a small apartment to a dream penthouse in midtown, a luxurious townhouse in Hell’s Kitchen, or a series of skyscrapers. Fill each with furniture that suits your style and standing. Invest your hard-earned cash in real estate to grow your empire. Take over the city piece by piece.
Spend your wealth however you wish. Buy a big SUV, a speedy sports car, or the new luxurious Mersaidi S500. Maybe risk it all at the casinos or put your money into investment funds and reap the rewards.
As you progress, you always need to ensure you get enough sleep and stay healthy and happy. Enjoy the journey, for as you grow older, you’ll discover that money can’t buy you time... or can it?

Waiting for penge to realise he can drive is van through the car park and straight into the wholesalers, and just fill the van up in one go....

People have already mentioned that you can drive INTO the Wholesalers so I won't mention that, but parking. Look at the bar at the bottom of the screen when you park, the one where you actually press PARK. You will see whether a parking fee applies to that space. Most space in the smaller side streets is FREE. Most of the parking on the main streets is expensive. And, yeah, overhead security cameras (The blue bubble ones) are the go. Cheers.

I just discovered yesterday that you don't have to unload a trolley to stock shelves. Just bump the trolley into the shelf and the shelf will magically fill up with whatever is appropriate for it. So if it's a cash register and you have paper bags, the paper bags will be used. If it's a flower display and you have the right flowers, then it will take those. And a storage shelf will take everything it has space for. IMO, having a personal vehicle just isn't worth it. You can ring the stores up and they'll deliver for a reasonable fee, but later on you can set up your own headquarters and warehouse. The warehouse is good because you can hire a driver to do the deliveries for you. Preview the warehouse before you rent, because some allow two vehicles which is much better for you. And that's where getting those big trucks is a really good idea. I'd say you'd want three or more stores to make all the effort of setting up the distribution chain worth it, but once it's set up, it's great! Also, as a creative person, I think Bernard should really spend a little bit of time smelling the flowers. Send him to the big park and rest on a bench for a few hours. It does wonders for relieving the stress of daily life.

You *need* to get Security in place, Penge!! lol You had $2485.10 stolen *just* in the Boutique in 4 days (Day 62 - 59). That's a lot of clothing, gifts, and flower monies~ I really did enjoy this though~! Keep on Keeping on, Penge, and thank you So much for doing what you do!

a shelf on the floor restocks automatically as soon as the last item from it is gone (providing there is stock in the storage). So Bernard doesn't have to worry about restocking the shelves EVER, even if he is the one at the register. Thanks for such great series!)

43:50 YES, that's exactly what it means. The first 20 means your current capacity (the total of all racks displaying each type of clothes), 30 is the max potential. Then on the 2nd line it'll list the diffrent types of racks and shelves. You have 2 large racks of clothes that come to a total of 20 and if you had the same type of clothing on small racks aswell those would be listed on a 3rd line with the combined capacity of those. You also need to consider poit of sales, the small cash register can only handle 20, so in order to get to 30 you either need to swap it for a checkout counter that can handle 30 or add a 2nd cash register.

@@AmbersweetCakes Honestly, parking in this game sucks (unless they've improved it recently, haven't checked in a while). I often couldn't park near where I wanted to go unless I tried to get into really tiny spaces and I often had other vehicles drive up behind me, plus rather abysmal controls when using the mouse. Never occurred to me to switch to keyboard like Penge mentioned so maybe that's better. I gave up on my free car from my uncle because it just didn't feel worth the hassle. Running and trains can get you all over the map fairly painlessly, then cabs when money's free flowing.

@@mbncd It's really not worth the effort to use a car in this game. I sold mine as soon as I got it. But you really shouldn't be running around playing delivery man for long in this game. After you get just a bit of money, it's a good idea to get the stores to deliver. And later on, you will have your own warehouse(s) to deliver goods to your stores so it should be a problem that just goes away. That said, I do steal one of those special carts from "definately not IKEA" and keep it in my home (with a box of paper bags so it doesn't go away) so that I can use it to move furniture into my new stores.

Would be nice to sort the security (is there a guard position?) and decor of our shops and walk in the park for happiness and it seemed to have a huge effect last time :) And training employees is a great idea!

Yes, the 3 retail positions are cleaners, customer service and guards. I think his first choice should be cameras and door security scanners though. The help guide recommends guards more for jewellery stores and the like.

The recruitment agencies don't start looking immediately, that 1 day you gave them start at opening hrs the day after you ordered it. Also, as you train the staff they will get more demands the higher skill they get (up to 3 demands). One of those demands may be health insurance, and for that you'll need a HR manager working in the headquartes you don't have yet, you'll also gonna need to visit the hospital to get a new contact. HR managers can also be used to automatically train staff without taking them out of work (but not higher than their own skill), they can also automatically get temp workers to replace those who call in sick and replace people who quit.

To automate things a bit you can look into renting an office space for a headquarters. There you can hire people to order from an import company at the docks. Then you can rent a warehouse where you can employ a driver for your van who can then fill your stores automatically from your warehouse.

That was quite a lot of people walking out with baskets full of things who didn't pay... I think more than the actual paying customers Also it's saying under "capacity" that you need at least two registers in each of those stores.

Watching you go back and forth from the supplier is breaking my mind xD I hope you manage to read my previous advices to speed things up. Just change the "delivery day" of your shops to the next day (and do this every time you need a delivery), I know you'll spend some money but you'll save time and potential mistakes, fuel etc. Doing so, you could theoretically get a delivery done each day, if you'd like to. So you can focus on more important things as managing the shops, the employees and so on...because now you're playing the "courier game" not the biz-man game xD when I play this game, I barely do a couple of restocks manually, while you're spending the entire playthrough living the courier's life xD just saying.... BTW Love your content and your energy! you're always able to cheer me up!

Hi penge 😊 dont forget to get a speaker for the music in Big B’s Bouquet and also you need to get security set up as a priority when you first start your next eposide as Bernard is losing too much money to theft! 😊 Also as others have mentioned at the wholesalers you can drive your van up to the door and enter in your van so you can load the goods straight into your vehicle. Saves sooo much time. Also definitely look into HR as you can start to automate the deliveries which you keep mentioning 😊

You should rent a office and get some lawyers, they are a nice passive way to get some easy cash. Once you set them up with a desk, chair and computer + maybe some other items if they require like water coolers, sofa, fridge etc, then you barely need to do anything with them at all, they will just keep making you money. You can have 2 lawyers per desk, morning and evening shift. (If you find something up in midtown would be best, you can set the prices higher up there) In my game I have over 400 lawyers making me more than 500K per day monday to friday, weekends are useless for lawyers.

The driving into the whole seller might not be obvious, but there is definitely a huge parking lot and it is completely ridiculous to park on the street 🤣 I am also wondering how long the forklift with the pallet of paper bags will be standing there.

I think maybe a recent update did something with the cleaners. I've noticed in my own game aswell that in some of my businesses I've had to hire another cleaner cause they guy who used to do a good enough job can't keep up anymore. So you might want to extend the hrs of your cleaner.

Good thing you didn't get a freight truck, they are a pain in the... to park on the street, not that you can afford one yet anyway, they cost 98K. You're gonna want one or 2 eventually tho, when you get around to setting up warehouses. If you want auto park you're gonna have to go to the luxury car dealer, cheapest one with auto park is about 50K I think it was (and up to 720K for the most expencive one)

did you know you can drive the van in to the whole-seller fill it up when drive it to the check out and pay for everything only leaving the van to load it thats why it doesn´t have a regular door but a garage door it was designed as a drive through get out use the forklift to pick up 6boxes and load it into the truck pick the next items and laod it into the truck drive to checkout pay in leave
