This is a mini-pilot Chris Garbutt created in 2009 for Cartoon Network development studio Europe. It was produced in 3 months
This pilot would eventually go on to be a Netflix series
Stéphane Coëdel did the compositing with the help from Céline Desrumaux

I remember this version of Pinky Malinky. I can kind of see why it wasn't picked up for a series at the time. But Im still glad it got to see the light of day in the end though.

They were made by the same animation studio, in 2015 Nickelodeon bought the rights to Pinky Malinky, but following the animation style similar to Gumball

It’s sad because this was supposed to air on Cartoon Network but it aired on Netflix, do some research. And the was made partly by the creators of gumball. Yes Nick owns it but it never intended to be a ripoff.

this is superior in any given way to the unbelievably dumb shit the final series ended up being. like the human designs are so varied and fun, and the food dudes have both this gradients that make them stand out among everything else and their animations and expressions are crazy and creative. its like the dude behind the project got a lobotomy after this.
