The GT40 mod will make your pint go 30 miles per charge.
It will work on Pint and XR
(XR will require another connection kit)
The GT40 will work for all firmware and hardware of Pint, except for firmware Gemini 5059 or Gemini 5069. For pint 5059 you will need a JWFFM chip for it to work.
The GT40 will work on XR hardware 4206, 4208, 4209, 4210 with firmware prior to 4150.
It has a PMS system inside to detect your board, it auto wake as you turn on the board, and it auto disconnects once you turn off your board, it is housed in full aluminum body with the latest Panasonic 21700 battery cells rated at 5Ah.

So like a dumbass I hotplugged my gt40. Guess what these guys did, the gave me a new kit with the understanding I am a DIY newbie and were super helpful and gracious with me. The product is kick ass, but the team behind this will go far. Cannot say enough good things. I was the one who messed up, then they rescued when they didn't necessarily have to. Just awesome team and product. Made my treaded pint 10x more viable

How did you contact them? I don’t think I hot plugged my gt40 but it’s not working for me. I suspect one of my roommates did while I was gone but no one is fessing up. I’ve tried emailing them and they haven’t responded to any of my emails.

A WEEKS review from the GT40 Mod. Hardware: 5315 Firmware: Gemini 5050 GT40 is the missing piece to all PINT users out there. It would make you appreciate your pint more. My range anxiety is gone as soon as I start using it. Get the PROTECTOR kit as well, it is really important. A job well done GT40 team. I just used the GT40 with the protector on it. The GT40 really gets me places where the standard onewheel pint cant. The protector is a must on everyone getting the GT40. It would save and protect your cable from getting damage. One week of review and this is what I observe, during regular usage, the installation instruction on the website and the video tutorial is clear and accurate, but should be updated to help clarify the charging process after usage of the onewheel. I am an Electronics Engineering graduate and a Diesel Technician by trade, I know a little knowledge of the electronic basic. So here’s what I observe. (*DISCLAIMER: This is only a pure observation and no scientific studies have been done during this review. These sets of instruction are here just to guide or help anyone who have trouble charging their PINT. ASSUME ALL responsibility in performing these methods.*) CHARGING: GREEN BLINKING: So, what I’ve observed and take into mind during my 1 week of usage is that, don’t charge directly as soon as you get home after every ride, instead, let the GT40 and the onewheel balanced batteries or equalize. Meaning, just turn ON the pint with the GT40 connected without charging until it automatically turns OFF again. After this, you can charge it regularly. So what you are doing is Technically, after every ride, the pint battery tends to drain more than the GT40. As you turn ON the pint, what its doing? It is being detected as “regen” state, meaning, GT40 would continue balancing out Voltage to Pint’s batteries. As soon as it balances out, “regen” status would turn off, and shuts down your pint automatically. Then, you could now charge it with the charger. This way it would prevent the issue of some people having trouble charging coz it would automatically shutsdown a couple minutes from charging it. BLUE BLINKING: Blue Blinking means your GT40 is way too high of charged state compare to your pint batteries. Charging it in directly would result to automatic shutdown of the charger couple minutes from charging it. Blue blinking meaning your GT40 has a higher voltage than your Pint. Fixing this issue is easy. (Blue Blink Procedure) Disconnect your GT40 from your Pint(*make sure to unplug the charging cable and turn your pint OFF doing so*), then charge your PINT only. Check every 10% to 15% of added charged by checking the app. Then, disconnect the charger, plug the GT40 cable to the pint(*making sure the the pint is turned off in doing so*), then turn on the pint. If GT40’s blinking is GREEN, you could now charge it regularly without encountering the auto shutoff during charging. If its still BLUE blinking, repeat (Blue Blink Procedure) until the blinking would be GREEN. Hope this helps out fellow Floaters out there and keep safe everyone. Thank you. -Gerard

A couple of install tips: 1. Pay attention to the screws so you put them back in the correct place (Long screws go at the bottom of the footpad) 2. The hole on the fender goes to the RIGHT of the battery indicator lights (opposite side of the wiring you just did). I totally don't have an extra hole in my fender now... 3. Before screwing in the fender, check the bottom of the board to make sure no wires are sticking out. The joins for the wires can go next to the controller housing, excess wire can be tucked neatly in the gap near where you drilled the hole.

Hi thanks for the clear instruction video & for developing such cool addon for onewheels, i have 2 quick question: 1. Have you tested it on other fenders? I have a magnetic fender from C&R and wonder how this will fit (both regarding the installation, and how safe it is to put it on a non bolt-on fender). 2. Is it possible to cold swap the GT40? i.e. Let's say i got 2 x gt40 for my pint, when the first one runs out, turn off the pint, unplug the first one and connect the second one? If so, that would've be really awesome as i can take the second one in my bag rather than stacking them. Looking forward to ur response :)

cold swapping doesnt seem to be possible as the gt40 needs to match the internal battery voltage, there might be the possibility of running 2 in parallel with a barrel connector splitter cable

My onewheel pint is running on Gemini 5069. I installed the Jwffm chip as required and the chip seems to be running fine but the GT40 light stays red all the time iv ran the battery down from 100 to 1 and still nothing. Am I missing something? I have just noticed the description of this video says the 5069 will not work well I think I just wasted some money

Hi there, this looks like an amazing feat of engineering! Everything is so well thought out and I love the extra safety/convenience factor you added - it's really unique among all of the other VNR type setups. I've got a couple questions about it: - It looks like a couple of the cables/components are a little specialized and might be hard to find if damaged or lost. Will you offer replacements or at least information about how to find/make these cables? - How well does the GT40 casing hold up against crashes and tumbles? - If the batteries or circuitry inside the GT40 fail, are they user-serviceable? - Those wires are quite thin to be able to conveniently fit through that sticker - are those wires rated for that much power going through them? I'm sure with the level of detail you've put into the project, this has been accounted for, but it is something that came to mind. I'm considering modding my Pint with this thing, it looks incredible!

Hi, thanks for reaching out 1. All the cables and components are user serviceable and you can get it by contact us at gtmodification@gmail.com, we support right to repair and we will do as much as we can to help if you need parts to fix your gt40. 2.the gt40 is held in a 2.5mm thick aluminum case so it holds up pretty good in rolls/ tumbles. 3.You can change the internal PCB if you have basic soldering skills, and we are happy to provide spare parts needed. 4.Those wires are 18awg and rated for 10A cont, the internal circuit will shut down the connection in 0.2s if it is over 8A, and it will resume if the current drops back in 8A.

How it is with the amp? Since when batteries are in parallel it puts out double the Amps. Won’t that fry or damage the onewheel board after some time? Thank you.

The ESC has a software current limit, It can measure the shunt current and usually the esc is not the bottle neck, the og 1p pack really lags behind what the controller can do. With gt40 setup you immediately feel it is way more punchy and responsive when climbing hills

Just shipped 6 box of gt40 out to UK the day before yesterday, our original plan was to ship the gt40 out from our EU warehouse to UK , but it turns out that UK is not in EU anymore, so we were not able to send it via EU warehouse, had to find another carrier that specialized in shipping dangerous good to UK, that was super hard to find, but we were able to find one just recently and all of them had been shipped out, the shipping time is 8-15 days.

The chibattery gauge has a pass through plug and ao does the GT40. Will they work together? If so, in what order should they be plugged into the passthrough range?

Thanks for your response via email. Like you recommended, I will solder the chibattery gauge wires to the g40 passthrough. That hole underneath the sticker- does that come factory? Did FM provide that for modders or is that a feature added by the producer (FM was not aware of) they ordered from where they have the controller assembly mass produced?

@@sdmods619 The hole is on the battery box and controller box it is a vent port to equalize air pressure as temperature changes.

@@JonXuereb Referring to chigauge not chibattery. The gauge has a plastic passthrough that connects directly to the controller, the GT40 also has the same style passthrough and they don't fit at the same time. I figured it out - disassembled the chigauge passthrough and soldered it's wires directly to GT40 passthrough and it works great.

Install a JWFFM chip from jw batterys it should override the BMS firmware. All battery mods work with the JWFFM chip on all current firmware updates on the pint and pint X

Ok so I went for a nice long ride today so it seems that the battery is connected and working well... However I read that after connecting the app I had to turn it off for the ride but the ride would still be recorded? I'm not seeing the record of my ride?

Is it possible to add 2 GT40 mod kits to one Pint to get even more range? I own a pint, and a pint X. I ordered 2 GT40 mod kits. I was planning on connecting one to each board. But it won’t work with the X. So, could I connect both GT40 mod kits to the one Pint? And both would drain together and charge together? Possible? Risky?

I've Emailed several times, but haven't received an answer, but my concern is in the closeup of the battery pack the tag says 54v 1800mAh (1.8Ah) 97Wh. The original pint battery is 147Wh, how does this get me to 30 miles per charge? It should be around 270Wh to get that kind of range. To credit, this is the best looking system and cleanest install that I've come across for adding millage to the Pint.

Hi, sorry for the late reply, it is marked as 97Wh so we can ship it worldwide via air. actually it is 63v 5Ah, which is around 300Wh.

After opening the controller box, the gasket was swollen and I can’t seem to make it fit back in place. Any tips?

glue them in place or cut the gasket short for about 5mm then you put some silicon on the cut end of the gasket

Yes but you have to cut open chi gauge passthrough, desolder the wires and soldered onto gt40 passthrough. Works great!

I have the GTMOD plugged in. Turn on my onewheel. The GTMod battery indicator light is blue. Turn it off and plugged in the charger. It would charge for ~1 min then stop and charging brick shows green even though the pint internal battery only shows 50% charge. Why is that? However, I was able to keep charging the internal battery pass 50% with the GTMod unplugged.

That mileage number is really misleading. I have both the quart battery upgrade and the gt 40 And I only get 20 miles in my hilly area and a max of 30 miles on flat. What there advertising is that this gets 30 miles with just the gt 40 and stock battery when realistically you be lucky to get half that. With the stock battery +gt40 expect 15-20 and no more with the quart + gt 40 expect 20-30

Btw I fuckin love this modification and this by no means detracts from how awesome the mod is. I just believe the specs and numbers should be truthful and realistic. That number 30 miles would only be possible if you weighed less then 150 lb and was on flat surface with no wind and warm weather

Math goes like this: Pint battery is 147Wh, this has claimed ~270Wh. 270 divided by 147 i 1.8 so if the capacity claim is real you should get 2,8 range of original Pint range in your area (temperature included) with that thing on. You can see in video above that their rider is light, unskilled and goes on flat. Do your math next time, every use case is different and technically their claim is achievable in optimal conditions.

I thought the same thing for a minute but honestly the GT is still going to be better. Fukkkk pint pushback/low top speed. Plus even with an aftermarket battery in your pint it won’t have the same torque levels that the GT will 😁 GT will be worth the wait

audio on video is too low. I have a note9 phone with volume on max and your voice is a whisper. kind hard to watch and listen to directions when u can not hear video while u work.
