Great review. When i saw this review posted i had to watch because of a personal story that i will share that had me JAW DROPPED surprised about a Pinty scope. I was probably more much surprised than you. In 2015 i bought a used Weatherby Vanguard cheaper synthetic rifle in a 7mm mag for deer and bought a new $129 Bushnell 4x16x50. I was pleased with the set up and the divorce kept me on a strict budget. I took my 2 deer in 2015, 2016, and 2017 with it from 50 yards to about 210 yards. Something happened in 2017 i was not aware of. So 2 weeks before deer season in 2018 I took the rifle to the range. It was all over the place at the 100 yard with nothing close to where the paper was. I though maybe the scope broke. It threw a bullet sideways on the paper at 25 yards on 1 of 5 shots hit paper. I quickly realized it was the gun. On inspection we found a bulge about 5 inches from the end of the barrel. First time i had ever seen it. On the way home i stopped by a big box store (wallymart) to get 2 or 3 items. I was wondering how i was going to be able to hunt and had a $200 budget. I ran into a cousin that wanted the gun for parts and that really wanted the scope. He offered $150 for gun, scope, and case. I took it, walked back into the store not looking to buy a gin there but found the cheapest synthetic Remington rifle/scope combo on sale from $349.99 to $234.99. I got it and 2 boxes of ammo and sited it in, but hated the 3x9x40 scope on it. My girlfriend looked online and found a 6X24X50 illuminated Pinty scope that was on sale from $69 to $22 free 2 day shipping. When she got it she handed it to me and said i got a good deal on it and hope you like it. After i thanked her and said it looks much better than the other one. I mounted it, went to the range, zero'd it at 50 yards to start in 3 shots. I moved to the 100 yard range, and put it dead center in 3 shots. The next 3 shots hit the first center hole. A dime easily covered all 4. My mouth dropped open and to make sure i put 3 more shots down range. The hole got slightly bigger. Mind you i was shooting the 7mm mag 130gr Hornady American whitetail sp on the 100 yard range. I was shocked, speechless for a bit. A friend was jabbin at me and did not believe me. So he went and got the paper. He was in shock. Everyone at the range was. His $800 Savage 30 06 rifle and $850 Leopold 6X24 was nothing close to that. On the last day of season I got my only deer of the season at 446 yards on GPS and 442 on range finder. Target shot at 600 yards a few times and 800 yards once and was always the most accurate person there. For the next5 years i would take that Cheap set up to the range, fire 3 shots, and knock the legs off the X in the center dot of the paper and put the gun back in the case. I would always ask that friend if it looked good enough. lol That $250 gun and $22 scope were the most accurate i ever owned. Even a tad more accurate than my new Bergara HMR Wilderness with Hawke 6X24X50. I regret trading that kicking mule of a gun, but still have the scope and plan to put it on a Tika, Bergara, Savage 110, or Ruger American in a 308, 270, or maybe 6.5 PRC. It will go on either a $450, $550, $750, or $900 gun and stay there for life. That is my story. Many people dont believe me. Until they talk to someone that went shooting or hunting with me or that shot that set up themselves.
That is a great experience Joe! It's nice when we can find something that doesn't kill our wallet AND does the job! Thanks for sharing and thanks for watching my friend!
@@The4GunGuy I enjoy peoples reaction to the Pinty scopes because they usually turn out like this. They make several tactical combo's that i am looking to try. They are VERY high rated. The have a holographic on smaller tactical scopes that range from a 2x7x40, 3x9x30 and 40, 4x12x 40 and 50, 4x16 x40 or 50, and a 6x24x44, 50, and 54 late time i checked. the combo's also come with a removable laser for good prices. I'm sure you would like those also. I look forward to your reactions to more Pinty products.
This is my first experience with a AR15 style rifle. I bought a Radical Firearms AR15 that is arriving tomorrow, also the 2 MOA Red Dot sight that you reviewed. Thanks for the review. I'm looking forward to target shooting.
I think a lot of these things are the same with just different names on them. I think you can get away with a less expensive optics like these. Some stuff is junk, but you seem to have a good chance with less expensive red dot in my opinion.
Hi Jason! Yeah, it's little things that can make a difference. I mean it when I say the build quality on these is very good. Thanks for watching my friend!
Hi Naji! Oh yeah buddy, we'll be playin' those Yankees in a few days I think. Always a good game! Thanks for the kind words and for watching my friend and LET'S GO ASTROS!
