I have the exact saw. My great uncle bought it new many years ago, used it a lot over the years. After he passed, I inherited the saw. Engine was worn out. I rebuilt the engine with a new cylinder, new cylinder, even split the case and resealed it due to a fuel leak. It runs great. I only run non ethanol 40:1 fuel. Always starts.
I found a p41 at a second hand store great shape . Installed a new plug , the old gas didn’t smell too bad , 6 pulls we have ignition . They are great old saws .
My father loved these saws, had two of them and he heated our family home with them for years, with help from me and my brother, our three sisters would occasionally help with packing wood in a storage locker in the house or in the shed.
I own this exact saw and love it . Had carb done recently and it has never given me a problem once since. Lots of power. Great firewood saw and nice and light
I recently got 2 of those when I was buying a few Macs. Didn't think too much of them, figured I'd make 1 runner out of both. Well easily got them both running, sold one and kept the other. They are a strong little saw and cut great!
That is a really cool feature with the auto comp release. Didn't know they even had those. Pioneers are some of the nicest looking saws but are hard to come by at least a halfway decent one
Built more heavy duty than Homelite with bigger flywheel and clutch/sprocket. I have a 1200A and an 1110 with solid build and quality. You forgot to mention made in Peterborough Ontario Canada by OMC along with the original 2 stroke Lawn-Boy lawnmowers. Keep up the good videos and take care of your health.
Awesome little saw. Just picked up a 2073 basically the same saw. So if there is no high speed adjustment I wonder how that thing runs at higher elevation?
I have a 1073 Pioneer saw, that looks very close to this one. What I don't like is the front handle. It is not round and I cannot stop asking myself WHY? The feeling is like you hold a spoon.
I still want a mac chainsaw. Not decided which 1. Passsed on a 3200 very cheap price. But l want an older saw just have to look. I sure do enjoy your videos. I rebuilt a Dolmar carb an checked w pressure to make sure. A great 7 .00 investment.
I've got that saw and starts and idles great but when I throttle up it bogs down and stalls. I've cleaned carb and replaced parts but I think it's an air leak between the carb and the engine. I took that apart to check the gasket and it doesn't seem to fit back tightly. Have you ever had that apart. Do you need to take off the engine case to seat the plastic part between the carb and engine to make an air tight seal?
I just picked one of these up today for $60. Are you gonna do anymore videos on this saw? I’m not sure how to get the carb out and clean it / gasket kit.
I had one and should have kept it. Towards the end, it use to get so hot it would boil the gas in the tank. 😳😳. LMAO. Nothing like safety. Those were the days. 😅😂
@@emeraldviking3637 16:1 is stamped right on the gas cap. These motors are old school designs so I'd stick with what was originally recommended. Oil is cheap while rebuilds aren't.
