Thumbs up for cool system AND Nightwish! One of my favorite bands. I have this album and a laser active as well. Recapped the whole thing and it’s a pita, but it works.

Great video. Assuming this is like any other laser disc player if you look below the tray there is a motor that drives all the loading and eject mechanisms via a belt. The issue you're having with the eject / load thing is most likely this belt slipping. While it did work towards the end of the video I'd still be changing the belt and lubricating the rails on the mechanism that lowers and raises the tray (usually on the left hand side of the player). On the laserdisc format itself, it is a composite format so that's the extent of the video output. That said though you can get a decent image out of it all be it the laseractive isn't exactly a good laserdisc player. Good luck with the rest of the repair, will be watching with interest.

Thank you for the tip. Yeah I thought the belt might be an issue as you can hear it spinning. Also the tray mech has multiple sliding parts so if they haven't jammed, they'd certainly be adding more strain to it.

@@NaokisRC I'd had a similar issue with my laser disc player I use in the cave. The mechanism on the side is such a convoluted thing I'm amazed the motor and belt can even drive it. If it is bent as you think that certainly wouldn't help either.
