This was an excellent video Jordan/DJ Faze! It is just what I needed. I purchased mine over 18 months ago, but as a musician, songwriter, singer, and performer, so i have been working on that angle of my buisness plan first. I have a degree in Radio/TV Broadcasting several decades ago, and worked in a few non-commercial radio stations, as well as doing a stint as a party DJ for a DJ business in Austin for a while. I also made my living teaching computer software and technology for more than two decades before retiring. But believe it or not, I am often 1, intimidated to learn new technology. 2. Super Lazy to sitdown and learn new technology. 3. I have simply forgotten much of the old technolgy that I used in the previous decades. But you werre so thorough in your overiew that it automataically all flowed back to me as you covered every single thing that I needed to know. I had watched another video earlier, that helped, but you were more through in the same amount of time. I cant believe how alll the techniques flowed back to me with each area that you covered. The techncial hardware is new, but the techniques are still all the same. I used to try and help my students deal with iintimidation by telling them that there really are no new wheels being invented, you smply have to apply what you know to the new virtual world. But when it came down to me being the student with any new tech, I found I had the same confusion and insecurities that they have when they have to learn something new. Once again, thanks for your detailed and thorough video. You could easily also add Trainer to your resume skillset, as you are top notch at it!
One must take note when purchasing the Pioneer DDJ-200, that whilst you may have a paid for account to stream music via Apple Music, or Tidal, one CANNOT record any set unless music is purchased. Second factor, you may have downloaded your music via your Apple or Tidal accounts, BUT if you are in a remote location with no cellphone signal- only purchased tracks will be able to load. Another key is that this controller does not have any output for any cables on the actual controller, the only output is via a split cable that connects to your headphones and your AUX cable. If you have an IPhone, you cannot charge your phone while mixing unless you have an iPhone lightning to headphone Jack adapter. If you are broadcasting via Bluetooth to a Bluetooth speaker, one cannot use headphones. There are many other reasons to consider saving rather for a Pioneer DDJ-400 an upward if you really want to get into dJing. Hope this helps.
DJ Bliss my we DJ Android and the Ddj 200 is out of sync when it comes to let's say scratching or even cuing up it's just completely out of wack man can you suggest something for me to try do?? It works fine when I have it hooked up to rekord box. But not my phone. Thanks for your help.
@@DJ.BLYSS420Thanks mate for replying! Yeah I'm using a Huawei mate 10 with Kirin 970 chipset and 6 gigs of ram...Do you think that I need to try something else to eliminate it being my phone possibility?
@@xaviergms2225 I have same problem with my phone, Huawei P20 Pro, I guess is the latency from the phone and the controller. I used an old LG G4 and has less latency, and I used a friend's IPhone 7+ and it works perfect there. So the problem has to be with some bluetooth connections from some phones.
You mention that the USB cable can only be used to power the controller. In reality if you use it to connect to your laptop that not only powers the controller but it carries the signal as well. This obviously doesn't help if you need to hot-cue but just thought it should be mentioned.

I want to thank you so much for your help. I was not able to use my Bluetooth speakers, and I could not find any answers. After watching your video I bought exactly the same speakers Numark you used, and it works perfectly now.
For a small DJ controller it's good, i'm surprise Bluetooth 5.0 doesn't lag on it. I hope Bluetooth is the feature in 10 more years so we give more cables a break haha

Awesome video! But I’m struggling with my headphones. They play fine but everything is still coming out of the main speakers. How do I set it up so I can just hear the tracks in my headphones before sending it to the main speaker?

Hey greetings from Miami I love this controller then there is an action that I'm not very sure how it works maybe you can explain it to me in the auto mix when I use the software I can select the left or right screen and the blending automatically does it every time that I touch that option on the screen in the software but when I do it in the controller if it wants to move the fader to the left to the right The mixed ring does not work simply what makes it cut and and start the other song Without mixing them is there any option so that I can use the controller and I can move the slider and thus do the automix let me know thank you

Hello Leon, depending on the genre you like to dj with maybe look for record pools that cater to that and they should always give the top 20 best weekly for dj use.
Why the settings or to go on Spotify, beatport etc, etc, just work on ios but not on android? All the people use android needs change devices to get better settings????
Hello DJ BRENTAY, its not listed and this controller was made with its specified softwares, however you would have to check to see if Virtual dj is compatible with this controller by going into Virtual dj website. Thanks
Ik this is old but could you plug an cord into a mixer input, then take an aux cord and plug that into a video switcher, have a capture card on a camera above you plugged into that. If all setup correctly I could livestream, play music to the speakers irl, have livestreaming dj audio, and then if I plugged usb bluetooth headphones (Sony pulse headphones) into the device I was using for OBS, I Could then also hear what I’m doing aswell? IK the latency wouldn’t be as good as if it was a direct controller to headphones connection but if I set it all up right this could all work or no? Also is the software compatible with an elgato stream deck? Idk how or if I would even need to use it but I just got one along with this so I’m curious. There’s is a USB slot on the mixer I’m just not sure if I could connect Bluetooth headphones to that mixer, but maybe a possibility? Thanks for reading and if anyone got any tips I’d appreciate it
Thank you for your question Daryl. The bluetooth feature is to connect to your smart phone or tablet for music access to control with the controller. it comes with a split cable so you can use a pair of headphones and one to your sound or powered speaker. if you need further assistance please contact us at support@idjnow.com
Is there a way to engage the master tempo that you know of. The sync and tempo button are one in the same on the DDJ 200... im trying to learn to beat match

@@DeeBeeBBX It finally arrived today after waiting 3 weeks. I bought expensive speakers and headset specifically for this controller. The DDJ200 is absolute garbage anno 2023. I hope you returned it? I just returned my DJ Controller + equipment and lost my appetite for this newfound "hobby" Im sad to hear you still haven't managed to connect your DDJ200. I have literally tried every application that's out there: Rekordbox, Djay, Edjing, WeDJ etc. Thanks for replying.
Does anybody know why the moni split doesn't work with Rekordbox on Macbook? I can hear the same music through both the headphones and the main speaker so I can't monitor the tracks im cueing?
Hey Big MIX studio thanks for stopping by our channel. To more concisely address your question: when the DDJ-200 is plugged into your computer, via USB cable, and rekordbox is running, performance mode features of rekordbox will unlock, just the same as if you entered a license key. The license is hard-coded into the controller itself, so there's not a written rekordbox license key in the box. You can find more details in Pioneer DJ's rekordbox FAQ section here: rekordbox.com/en/support/faq.php?c=1030

Is it possible to set the output on a portable speaker (jbl charge 4, playable only with a wireless connection) connected to the laptop via bluetooth? So the controller goes directly, with the help of the usb cable, into the laptop and the laptop is connected wirelessly to the speaker. Are there gonna be delays in sound? Anybody tried that? Must it be a cable speaker?

It cannot be used with Serato, However The smart DJ controller is compatible with WeDJ for iPhone straight out of the box and it comes with a rekordbox dongle which enables you to use rekordbox dj, Pioneer's professional performance app for PC/Mac. This controller is truly designed for use with a mobile phone.
No, the DDJ-400 is only designed to work with Rekordbox. The way Pioneer works is the following : Their products with numbers only are for Rekordbox but the products with an "S" in it like DDJ-SR2 are designed to work with Serato.
Hello Peter, if you are having any issues you can contact Pioneer Dj support on the issue. here is the link: support.pioneerdj.com/hc/en-us/categories/4416175422105-DJ-Controllers thx

@@idjnow-gear-up i resolved the issues by using asio drivers, it must be a realtek driver issue cos this happens every time the realtek audio drivers are selected.
