Definitely a great mixer! It may seem like a small update compared to all the other new introduced features, but the channel select buttons for the effects it's something huge for me. I never liked the knob all the other mixers have. And also the booth eq is a nice addition that can make a huge difference sometimes when the booth monitors aren't great. Personally, I just don't like how wide it is. I would have kept the mic section smaller, but maybe it's just me and I'm sure other people will find that section useful the way it is. Overall, definitely a good improvement in (almost) every way. Can't wait to try it out!!

Yes, the size is a showstopper for me, unfortunately. All new features/improvements together would be worth to spend money for the update, but my DJ desk doesn't have enough width unfortunately, and I don't like to change. I couldn't care less for the MIC section...

there are rumours of a 4 deck standalone compatible XDJ-XZ releasing in 2024, called the XDJ-XZ MKII basically instead of using your pc to enable 4 deck compatibility you can now do it without any external software

@@djmelvio Too long to wait for it to just not happen though, I'm financing some CDJ 3000s with the DJM A9 Mixer off 'BOP-DJ'. Definitely worth a check, if you're after a proper club standard set up, but need an affordable way to get your hands on some.

Looks like an excellent mixer and a well needed upgrade, definitely happy about all the extras, a mixer designed for all DJ's, mobile club, bedroom, streaming, everyone, that antenna however, for club and mobile, it will be broken all the time until eventually removed, unless they give that antenna a redesign or we are able to remove it completely.

it's incredible that they don't add the 4 knobs like the V10 for controlling mid and low bass and the equalizer for hi-mid-low in the master output. They always remove some important feature so you have to buy the more expensive unit. With those two things it would be the perfect all round mixer with no competition.

4 band EQ isn’t necessarily a good thing. For me, I own a V10 and I am considering getting rid of it for the A9 - it’s more suitable for my music to only have one bass knob.

Heck I haven't graduated to the DJM 900NX which I hope more will become available on the second had market now that a lot of DJs and clubs will be looking to upgrade asap! I agree that the A9 is a nice successor to the 900 but I still think the V10 is the champion. The A9 just lacks way too many of the V10's features to win in that battle. An easy difference to point out would be the V10 can have three in-house effects on a channel- beat , color and filter (with controls); the A9 tied the filter to the color....... So it can do beat and color. Many times you need that slight filter over the effects to soften them a little, especially on large systems. V10 also has that crazy routing with the two sends, send to channel, etc. Lot more control on the V10, lot more possibility.

Master HP/LP filter and possibly master eq would have been nice... I'd upgrade from a nx2 for that but for home. Not sure I'd justify the cost though I'm sure it sounds nicer

Never thought of that, but I consider the 3-band booth EQ on my Xone96 absolutely essential when playing in various locations with different monitoring setups. And I've been missing it whenever having to play on Pioneer mixers. I should mention the booth EQ there is far less sensitive than the channel EQs, at +/- 8. So I doubt much damage could be done even by an idiot DJ in the booth.

I still have 3 open questions though - Still no Hi-Z Input sadly, correct? - Full DJ Pro Link support to work with the 2000NXS2 Players for Beatsync and whatnot? - Do you have measurements / size information on the device? Would be nice to know when selling my 900NXS2 if I should keep the case or not

It’s a bigger footprint than the 900nxs2 so I doubt it will fit in the same case. Yeah the pro dj link support works the same as before. No Hi-Z input.

center lock seems like a problem that doesnt need to be solved. usually when you want to go back to zero it's instant so just kill the filter using the button. If you want a sweep back fast or slow, how hard is it to stop. I feel like this could kind of screw you up, in fact I sometimes go from 10 to 2 oclock from low pass to high pass. So I would almost always leave center lock off. Anyways. hopefully people find it really useful I just dont see it.

We can’t hear above 20k (most people actually only up to 18k) but higher frequencys can still impact those lower frequency we hear for example through creating certain harmonics. So although you can’t hear it you still can notice it. Most PA systems are capped at 20k anyways tho to reduce dba so it’s arguably not very relevant in a club context

I find the A / B cue's for 2 DJ's a bit odd really, I mean, how is this not already possible?? on the nexus2, you can just use a mini-jack-to-jack adapter and hey presto the other DJ can use his or her own headphones.

Is it possible to connect the DJM-A9 with Rekordbox via USB and use both simultaneously? I have the latest version of Rekordbox but the DJM-A9 and Rekordbox aren't connecting at all via USB. Can anyone please clarify what the exact steps are?

Quick question. If I were playing on 3 channels. Can you select say channel 1 and 3 of the beat effects at the same time? Or is only 1 channel or side of the cross fader assignable to the beat effects at a time? @crossfader

Probably not possible, you would asign both chanel 1 and 3 to crossfader side A, and then select side A on the fx, just like on the 900

Right, so the x1850 did everything the 900nxs2 did and more, is built really well and sounds easily as good. The 6000s vs the 3000, the only thing you can come with is the platter being mechanical.. let's not get into the fact the 6000 does everything else better for less money and has dual layer. Fanboys like you hold progress back. Pioneer been sleeping and now they release something half decent, big woop, they've been behind and the Denon team won't be making the same mistake as Pioneer-enough.

Probably an easy fix. When I plug my 3000’s into digital 1 & 2 the live ring appears on the cdjs. But if I connect 3000’s into digital 2 & 3 the red live rings act weird and deck in digital 3 only lights up red when fader 2 is up. Any ideas.

O botão de phantom devia ser uma chave, pq se estiver com um microfone dinâmico e sem querer apertar o botão vai queimar o mic na hora 😢 The phantom button should be a key, because if you have a dynamic microphone and you accidentally press the button, it will burn the mic right away 😢

Depende muito do MIC... A maioria dos MICs (e até dos prés) hoje em dia contam com algum tipo de proteção. Já liguei um SM7 em phantom power por acidente (por algumas horas) e não cheguei a ter problemas...

I see that Pioneer still does not include in this model the ports to link the CDJ's (in the case of having more than two). That great success, if I'm not mistaken, was only incorporated by the legendary DJM2000 NSX

It's as easy as buying a hub tho, the super cheap. I don't understand much about electronics, but my bet is that they didn't do it for a reason, possibly because it would occupy space needed on the mixer (the electronics inside since it has so many new features) or because if the ports stop working it would be expensive to fix, whereas a hub is cheap and easily replaceable

@@ntonioproductions1591 also in festival situations, when an A9 gets swapped for a V10 etc… all the CDJs can remain connected to an external hub while the mixer is easily swapped… plus, it allows the I/O to be laid out nicely, inputs line up perfectly with the channels etc, which is also very helpful in practice when working with the mixer and connections

The antenna is not the problem, this probably will ne replaced by a good 3rd party external antenna on good setups (or not used at all). But the fx center lock.. hmzzz

It’s designed for monitoring. I wouldn’t recommend it for anything performance based.

will this mixer finally quantize beat FX with Serato instead of relying on auto detect or tapping? Would be a shame if they didn't fix / add functionality because this is the biggest gripe with using Serato on club set up...also why didn't they implement USB ports in the back like on the S11...still have to use three cables to use Serato....
