Had the 2770 put in my new/old 2012 Miata on the same day this video was posted. It is great for my needs. Wireless Android Auto, USB input for my music and backup camera. The price was right too. Basic radio for my basic needs.😊
Purchased the unit but the price showed the following CONS: 1- slow Bluetooth which causes a delay in audio which makes using voice commands hard to use. This also makes videos out of sync. Connecting to usb does not improve delay. 2- screen is dim if you have a bright sunny car 3- equalizer is a bit bright and hard to equalize harshness in audio Otherwise a nice budget unit
I had the same problem with the audio delay. And when I try and connect wirelessly it says I need to attach the gps navigation when it already is. So basically it’s not wireless.
@joelcabreja1610 If the included GPS antenna is already connected and nothing small is missed but gives you that message, that sounds like a defective unit. Also I didn't have any issues with the screen being too dim it looked great to me during the day also had no issues with Google commands on my Samsung phone and was very responsive. However some things I wish were different/improved is the unit depth is unnecessarily bigger than i think it should be and it has no cooling fan so the unit does get hot.
So the android auto is connected via wifi, right? So when I go to my car, my phone is connected to my home wifi. Do I have to manually go into my phone settings to connect to the stereo wifi everytime? I could wait until I drive away and it should connect automatically, but that takes a few mins.
I just installed one of these in my truck. The radio presets showing the RDS feed data instead of the frequency is extremely annoying, there is no way that I have found to select between the two. I paid the money and went with a reputable brand to avoid silly bugs such as this.
I saw that u mention video output but did not speak on it or provide a demo. Is this thing capable of video output to a flip down monitor. And if it can. What r the limitations
Wish I saw this before I bought it, but I might’ve went higher. In reality. I like this radio. I wish they would’ve rand the usb wire through my armrest where my old iPod was hooked up. I have an 11 year old car. So, this works for me. I don’t want to put more into this car. This gets the job done. I will say though. Unless they didn’t hook up my GPS on the back. In the 24 hours I’ve had this unit. It kid on puts me all over the place when I may take a different direction. It’s don’t that twice so far. It sure what that’s all about. But nevertheless. It’s a win for me. My first CarPlay system. I’m a fan of pioneer and Kennwood. So, this works for me. No upgrade from here. Not in this car.
Is the volume button pretty responsive, it would be important to know if you can lower and raise the volume quick or not since there are no buttons or knobs?
I think that's a very valid question. How many times have I've needed to mute the sound on my old unit. I hope this isn't an issue, I'm picking mine up today. Thanks for posting!
Can you review the ATOTO S8 Ultra & S8 Ultra plus please and thanks

Hello, love your reviews. I have a 2018 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT with no sub and 6 factory speakers. I am looking for a unit that i can control with my steering wheel, use sirrus xm, i have a factory backup camera and i want to use my iphone wirelessly. Any recommendations
A year after the review …. Just got the 2770…. Got it for about 359 at the big blue and yellow store I used to install at …. Free install…. Had to go in and fix it- BUT- this headunit is great- wireless for that price? Perfect in my 2010 Fj Cruiser…. It doesn’t stick out and is very reliable. Weird thing - In bank parking lots- especially near the ATM…. My Apple CarPlay goes crazy - as soon as I drive away it’s fine…. Bluetooth hitting some crazy interference ?
I just purchased this for my honda odyssey 2013 ex to have a carplay android auto upgrade. Geek Squad tech installed these and working pretty good. Only cons, you can't use mirroring or weblink. Anybody knows how to bypass to get access for weblink and mirrorring?
I got this unit and the Sony XAV-AX6000, and both sucks when it comes to screen quality. The Sony is like a tiny bit better when it comes to touch sensitivity & movement (dragging your finger across the screen to scroll). After much consideration, I ended up keeping this unit, it's only $430 vs the $700 Sony. Although the Sony does have UBC-C, better audio and 3 years warranty. Up to you.
I have the 2700 but the camera just says, “No input signal”. Is there something I’m missing? I have a universal camera, NTSC. I checked the camera output and there is a video signal present (about 100mV). Is it possibly expecting a digital video or is the input signal format selectable?
Apparently not. At least not to GND since Pioneer uses a sequence on the e-brake line. Though, the only benefit you get with the bypass is screen mirroring. Which, tbh, the screen is good, but not good enough to stream content. At that point, use your phone.
Hello . If anyone can helppp I’ll appreciate it. I have a 2014 veloster no factory amp. I recently install a aftermarket radio all connection are right but my audio sounds muffled and low. I’m so confused and stressed lol HELPPPPPP
@@BreakersStereo Is this the reason why the 2660 is more expensive than the 2770? (which is wireless) I ask because trying to decide between the two. Across the board the 2770 is cheaper in price
It looks to me like the 2770 made some compromises. The preamp voltage went down from 4v to 2v. There is no more HD radio, and some other cuts. Also, there is no more cooling fan on the back.
I have this unit and it's really great for what I need. Is there any way to change the boot up screen from the "NEX" to something more custom? Thank you.
How is the sound qualityand adjustment on your excelon tho? I'm generally asking cuz I'm curious to know. I was debating on a Kenwood DMX7706 but instead got a JVC on sale at Best Buy and am already wanting to upgrade. The JVC is nice but I want Nicer!!
@@drewskidrankthebrewski4657 Sound quality is excellent, but I am limited by my crappy speakers. It is plenty loud enough by 22-24 on the volume, out of 34 (internal amp). It also has some very interesting adjustment settings. I also bought a set of powerbass OE Plug-and-play replacement components. Very easy to install but they sound horrible. With no crossover on the woofers, and a simple resistor on the tweeter. Anyway, the Kenwood has a feature on the tweeter crossover section where you can decrease gain at a center frequency, almost like a separate EQ for the tweeter. This combined with heavy EQ on the main equalizer, I have made them very listenable. I'm not sure I could have done that with the Pioneer. The biggest benefit for the 2700NEX at that price point is wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay. I almost went with the Alpine ilx-w650, as it has a crazy EQ, and basically a built in DSP. A 9-band EQ, but each band has 3 selectable "center" frequencies. Technically like having 27 band EQ. It also supports the powerstack amp, which piggybacks off the back of the head unit with a very small footprint. I had read reviews of its screen being dim as well, along with failures. Maybe thats why reviews should be taken with a grain of salt. FWIW, I adjusted my Kenwood to where brightness was usable by messing with both the viewing angle and brightness/black level settings. It is still hard to see in peak direct sunlight, but i think that would be true of most head units. Kenwood and JVC are the same company, and their Menu systems are reportedly pretty similar. The lower end units do lack better features, though. The Sony XAV-AX models are also very nice, but they chose not to include an AUX input on all but their flagship models.
Sadly for the prices of these radios they are useless radios. I have an old 5800bhs and I could adjust so much more. I could even replay a song or songs from Sirius, mixtrack what I’m listening to, and even have album art for my Sirius channels. “Upgrading” from the BHS to my 1700nex was so disappointing. Other than CarPlay, I loved my old radio. And it looks like this “newer” model is the same exact as my 1700 other than I don’t have wireless carplay, and weblink. But I can live with that considering how much more I lost.
I won't buy pioneer again. I have the 8200 nex, bought it a few years ago for 800 dollars. It doesn't pick up radio stations in areas where my other vehicles with stock radios will. And the worst part is bluetooth won't connect automatically 50 percent of the time even after the most recent update installed. I have to manually set it up all the time.
My phone keeps connecting to calls but not audio and I've tried unpairing the phone and the head unit but nothing helps. Any ideas on how to connect the Bluetooth audio?
@troylitle3116 I had to go into settings and manually connect it most of the time. My ATOTO connects every time and super fast for half the price. And it sounds great also.
@@SeriesDmusic I didn’t install it but they said it’s a GPS antenna but it still does it after being replaced… so I sync the stereo to my phone by plugging it in the usb port?
@@nonny0929 you need the supplied gps antenna for it to work. And then you plug your device in with the usb cable and set it up. Once set up you can unplug the usb.
@@nonny0929 and you can bypass the gps antenna they give you and use your own. But first you have to set it up with the one they gave you. Make sure your car is on when it’s plugged in so it detects it. Then you turn you can turn your car off, take the keys out and remove the antenna and plug your factory vehicle antenna back in. Once you do so you can turn the car back on and it should function as normal. This is IF you want to bypass it and not use the aftermarket one they supply.
Purchased this radio for a 2015 Tacoma. Installer said I need a pp1 bypass cable/connector. No idea what he is taking about, I searched everything and can’t find Anything that mentions a “pp1”. Any idea what he is taking about. Overpriced piece of plastic, and if you expect good sound quality pioneer has failed in this category. For that price, you figured it would come with a backup camera.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 And if you noticed he's in a very dark room so where you can see the screen if you're in a typical vehicle, where are the sunlights coming in? You will not see any of it, just the glare.....
