Had this unit installed in my motorhome recently. 3 cameras are connected to multiplexer which connects to head unit. Only gripe is the delay from turn signal cameras to backup camera. Even made the crappy stock speakers sound better.
Hello stranger I just had my pioneer DMH-WT3800 NEX installed early today and so far really great radio station. But my biggest complaint about it right now so far is that I connected my Apple car and whenever you lose signal the radio will turn off and the only way to turn the radio back on is to turn the car off and back on. Idk if it just me that having that problem but yeah. Other then that it actually a great radio I’ll give it a 8/10.
Great review Brother, I am in the process of installing this head unit now. Should have it in today. The price is a key feature on this unit, and the wireless CarPlay. A few short years ago you had to spend way more money to get "wireless" CP/AA from the big name heat unit makers. Finally the tech. has caught up to make these bigger screen units more accessible on a more reasonable budget.
The flush mount "might" work on an application like a 2005-2010 Jeep Commander. They had a relatively flat surface on the dash to work with. I own one, so I am going to try both installs and see which works/looks the best. I personally like having the screen aesthetically speaking, flush - like it was built for the vehicle. But, I also appreciate having a screen closer to me - so I am torn.
Would you take this over the Sony XAV-AX8100? This one seems to have more features like wireless carplay but I like that the other has an anti-glare screen and physical buttons. The Pioneer is roughly $100 more
I think this would be perfect for 2016-23 Tacoma. People have been using 6600NEX to get that factory look since the opening is exactly the same size as stock HU.
Seriously considering this radio for the wife's little Ford Fiesta beater that she drives to work. Sync system took a dump and she really wants her hands free phone working again. Also wants satellite radio. I considered just going with the inexpensive Boss because this is not her primary vehicle but I don't want to have a separate interface for the satellite radio to keep things simple. Single din is a must due to limited dash space and the Pioneer seems to check off all of my needs and then some!
I purchased a different one online, stopped at Best Buy yesterday, my goodness I didn’t realize they are so small, only a little bigger than a phone, I switched out for this one, getting installed Tuesday.
Just had one installed in my 2011 Tacoma. Love it, but one major complaint; Setting up the wifi is not user friendly at all. Incredibly frustrating. Had to go back to the install shop and have their stereo geek set it up.
Does the screen have to be mounted on the unit? If not, how much slack is there to be mounted away from the unit? I have the perfect application for something like this, in a 1972 El Camino SS396. Mount the unit behind the dash and install the screen on front of the dash under the AC/Heat controls.
How does this radio work? When changing climate controls, is it seamless or does it need some kind of wait time? I'm looking at swapping to this from another radio and the biggest reasoning behind that is because it blinks out the screen anytime. I press a climate control button using iDatalink
I have this installed for a few days now and I cannot get the browser to show up like on the other two. It only gives me the weather option. Is there a way around this? When registering it if I pick a different model number it won’t register but if I pick the 3800 the browser feature goes away and it doesn’t show up on the screen either. Please help.
This!! This right here! I have the same unit now and when setting up through the pioneer caravasist app the browser feature disappears. If I pick the other units (7800NEX OR THE 8600NEX) the browser shows up on the app but won’t connect to the radio because it’s the wrong model. I’ve had mine a few weeks now and have pretty much given up on having a browser. Maybe there will be an update. It sucks because that’s one of the main reasons I bought it. Obviously I’m not using it while driving or anything but because of certain circumstances with my job and other reasons I’d like to be able to access it from time to time.
Could it be one of those things you have to be parked and have the emergency brake on, I’ve seen that for things like Netflix or what not for other models.

Josh is the screen quality compared to the 7600 noticeably different? I'm debating this unit vs. the Alpine iLX-509, any comments on the sound quality between these two? This is going into a Toyota 4runner with an OEM+ Sound System so the 2V pre outs probably aren't going to be that big of a deal.
I didn’t notice a difference at all, it’s not gonna be a big deal when using the UI… maybe with the video input but the 3800 doesn’t have HDMI SO … for video input it would. I would do the 509 ALL DAY if you have the extra few hundreds $$. Hdmi in 1280x800 plus 5 EQs etc

I just installed this unit today and its overall beautiful. But the split screen carplay for doesn't function properly. No music data is read and only the playback buttons work. I had also noticed you put the demo picture up in the video when you showed it. I haven't actually seen it work properly yet. Any ideas?
@@biggs1485just had one installed, it can moved to be adjusted prior to install just so it can be properly placed but doesn’t move after install, and the split screen works fine.
So I have this exact unit in both my work and personal vehicle but was told the maestro doesn’t work for my 2014 dodge charger due to the metra ac connection module I already have from my previous unit. But it does work for my work van
The guy at Best Buy had to do some research while I was there to see if maestro would give me the extras more than steering wheel control on my 2011 Corolla, it does.
Just seeing your question, both? AC=Air conditioner? If so no AC control from the unit I don’t think, I haven’t spent a lot of time with it, it’s in my wife’s car but I think I seen the AC was blacked out, I’ve tried to update it both USB and av car assist with no luck. But works well regardless

Nice. 90% what I want. Would go kenwood.. but price. Does it angle left right? Does this have dual zone? I want to send video audio to the rear while having my music in front. Or is there another way to achieve dual?
Yeah the Kenwood is great but yeah the price is …… But here are the answers to your questions. No left and right angle No dual zone Not a way I know of to achieve dual zone with this radio.
@@BreakersStereo Kenwood also doesn't have a 9" 10" is just massive. I emailed kenwood and asked if there were any budget or smaller versions in the works. . I was told they can't say anything.
Million Dollar Question: Is the Screen Viewable in Bright Sunlight, i.e. a Convertible. Existing Five year old Kenwood is useless with the top down. Cannot read at all, apparently these new floating displays are supposedly a lot better. Trying to get that confirmed. The size is perfect.

Breakers stereo and performance - question for you. Even though I connected my phone contact list to the Pioneer 3800NEX, it doesn't seem to recognize any of my contacts. If I say make a call, it will say "who do you want to call?" and I say a person's name, and it just comes back and says something went wrong. If I say I want to send a text it says "who do you want to send it to?", I could say any person's name in my contact list, and it won't work. If you could help, that would be immensely appreciated.
I believe the stereo is using the voice prompts through your iPhone or android. I’ve personally experienced this in my vehicle at on time and I have an Alpine and an iPhone. Try to rest your phone and see if it helps also check to see if you have the lastest software on your phone. Ok hope that helps -Josh
That Android Auto split screen function - is that a Pioneer software solution or just Android Auto Coolwalk? Or can a Pioneer NEX receiver not do Coolwalk without a software update? And if the NEX can do Coolwalk without a software update, what's the difference between the Pioneer split screen and Coolwalk?
Android auto has split screen, but this is for splitting things like navigation with music app. Pioneer also has split screen, so you can split the built in apps (like radio turner) with car play.
There is , you have to disable car play and use Bluetooth and when in a call there is a mic setting. The pioneer os is kinda crap, they need to ditch it and use android LOL
Is for the amplifiers signal in order to gain match the amps to the radio output rca output 2 4 volts lots of newer amps like taramps don't like high 4 volts prefer low output but you can boost the juice by getting line driver from audio control or a DSP that also can do that.. it's not difficult but for certain amps they like all the rca juice you cand dish at it 4 volts or higher and some like I mentioned they don't like or need all that juice to get the given power 👌🏽

Why can't you remove apple Car Play or Android auto icons from the home screen? I hate having both take up room in the home when shortcuts , also has settings to change splash screen but it'll never find the file no matter what you save it as. You can't change the theme when not in dark mode either.
If you have a rear seat entertainment system it can output video to it from a usb flash drive. I have this in a 2015 town and country and that part actually works if you use a maestro rr, rr2 or the sr.
Hey josh. The new light/dark mode and the Apple car play split screen features…. Are they part of a software update on the 7600/8600 models? I have an 8600 coming already for my Kenworth semi and love those features. Please tell me I’m not SOL 😢
Hey Cody. I would assume that the next firmware update for the 7600/8600 will have it. The lastest update was last March 2022 and it doesn’t include it.

They do currently have it marked down to $600 w/ free installation. I purchased one yesterday. It also comes with a free backup camera and sirius xm tuner cable. However, they will charge extra to install the sirius xm adapter and backup camera, and it requires additional installation parts you have to buy. So all in, I'm paying $958.64. However, I'm happy with the price, since the additional parts and install fees would also apply to the more expensive units.
I installed this in a 2015 town and country and I have to say it's not worth the price. It's sluggish and phone call quality is really bad. I have a eonon android hu in my Ram 1500 and it was half the price of the pioneer and destroys it in every way LOL 😆
That's what ticks me off. Well... sort of. The Chinese no-name brand I have has superior microphone -- no janky crap with wires -- its just a pinhole like every modern stereo ever -- CarPlay isn't good though -- needs to be wired. Sounds quality is also ass -- but why can't these big brand companies keep up??
2023!!!!!Really!?Pioneer stopped developing any kind of units since 2019.To be honest all of the firms did.No 1080p or 4K still,they are laggy/slow,no new designs etc.
Its pioneer duh...ive had all the 9 inch 10 inch screens from power acoustik dual electronics boss you name it and i coukdnt wait for pioneer to jump on this currently saving
So I installed this one and they somehow messed up the preset buttons....it scrolls the RDS text over the presets and when you switch it leaves whatever rds text was on the button so you can't tell what station the preset is for....has to be the most stupid thing I have ever seen....even cheap android head units allow you to edit the preset text. And of course pioneer has no contact options to report stupid firmware bugs like this 😂 😮
I don't know why people keep buying these outdated overprice headunits from big box brands, the UI is like 20 years with no update. Does it have toslink digital output? 10.1"? Gesture control? native SWC? Sim card mobile support? AptX-HD bluetooth? automatic speed volume adjustment? front and back separate EQ? 4-channels time alignment? Google Play support with native navigation (Here we go, Waze) support, bluetooth ODBII diagnostic tool, bluetooth TPMS, youtube, netflix etc? USB plugin dashcam? Yes I am talking about the Atoto S8. If it breaks in 2-3 years, I'll just buy another one and still come out the same cost wise compare to the Sony, Pioneer, Kenwood, Alpine.
Pioneers marketing scheme sucks. Who puts 2v pre outs in anything for any reason. This is 2024. 720 should be standard for any floating screen radio. No HDMI? HDMI has been on tvs for over 20 years and your gonna take it off a radio with a larger floating screen? rather buy a stinger heigh10 then play games with pioneer
A 2 volt preout on pioneer is better than 5 volt on any other brand. The amp will make up the difference anyways, thats literally what an amp does. Amp is short for amplifier, it amplifies that 2v audio signal to higher power. It might help having higher voltage if you have like a 200w amp and 1000w speakers, but i dont know, ive always been over powered on amp or matching on both. I will say a 2v signal is cleaner than 5v. 5v will travel further which could come in handy if you drive a bus and your amp is 40 feet away from your head unit
But i agree with the hdmi stuff. They're colluding with phone companies to continue to price gouge for data. Its the same reason tablets dont have hdmi inputs
