I picked up a Pioneer SX-1000TW just last week. It has the same problem. One of the rectifier diodes is shorted. I really like your detailed diagnosis in this video. As to the fuse, according to the manual, "A 1.5-ampere fuse is to be used for either 220V or 240V operation and a 3-ampere fuse for any of 110V, 117V, or 130V operation." So in US, 3A fuse should be used.
