In this session of Pioneers Talk, Hans-Jörg Krassnig, Head of Electric Steelmaking at Primetals Technologies, provides answers to these questions and shares his fascination with the raw power of the most efficient recycling machine created by man-the electric arc furnace.
Hans-Jörg Krassnig lives and breathes electric steelmaking. He cut his teeth in the early 2000s studying at the University of Leoben, Austria, and working at steel producer Marienhütte as Head of R&D, where he also wrote his ph.d thesis. After many years of contributing to the rise of the electric arc furnace in the metals industry, Hans-Jörg now has the role of Head of Electric Steelmaking at Primetals Technologies.
