We were introduced to the new Milwaukee Tool M18 Carry-on power supply at the recent Pipeline 2022 media event.
It features a pure sine wave 1800W output (3600W peak), 2x outlets, USB-A and USB-C charging ports, and it can simultaneously charge 4 batteries with a 3A rate.
You can power the Carry-on with any (4) M18 batteries, although its maximum runtime capabilities will default to that of the battery with the lowest charge capacity.
Price: $699 tool-only

Ego needs to update their nexus inverter. No usb-c and only 3000 starting watts as opposed to 3600 with Milwaukee. I believe this inverter will sell very well 👍

i build much better than that price of one those 18 votls 12amp battery i can buy 2 12 volt deep cycle battery 75 amp 900 watts get 1800 watts power i can have 4 12 votls deep cycle battery 75 amp 900 watts i get 3600 watts i can have pure sine wave inverter 4000 watts 110 v 60Hz 30A run table saw much more ok 4000 watts pure sine wave $499.00 i can spend $2,000 and build much better power box even have 240 v out puut with 110V and usb port and water proof

What the people that ordered the 2000 carry on dam Milwaukee knew that was priced to high now this unit is 600

That ~$2K price for the MX Fuel Carry-on includes $1200 in MX Fuel XC batteries. That's 864 watt-hours for the 2 batteries combined. The M18 Carry-on is sold without batteries. To get the equivalent energy capacity, you would need 4x M18 12Ah batteries, which are priced at $250 each.

Will there be a 240v model?

I don't believe so, or at least there was no mention of one. Are you referring to 240V for powering heavier equipment in North America, or for powering common equipment in Europe and elsewhere?

@@ToolGuyd yes 240V im in Aus where everything is 240V. Shame even if it meant half the run time I wld still invest as im already invested with Milwaukee battery's.. Thanks for your reply no one else has responded to this question.

@@UpUplifted it’s still possible, there was just no mention of one. If there is a 240V version, the runtime wouldn’t necessarily be different. Generally, doubling the voltage of a load would half the current, and so the wattage would be the same.

What is the runtime for 4 12 m18 batteries?

Depends on the load. 18V x 12Ah x 4 = 864 Watt-hours. There will likely be some loss due to imperfect voltage step-up and DC to AC conversion. So it would be Watt-hours x efficiency percentage, divided by load in watts. Expected runtimes for different types of products or devices will likely be available closer to launch. But, as with the MX Fuel version, the runtime claims will likely be provided in terms of applications or tasks completed, rather than minutes or hours, such as "40 hot meals with a 1000W microwave" or "1200 3" nails air compressor."

Yes, and no. Dewalt's is "modified sine wave," not "pure sine wave." Dewalt has a single outlet, this has 2, plus USB. And you can't actually buy the Dewalt 20V Max anymore. It hasn't been discontinued - to my knowledge - but no stores have had it in stock for a long time. The Dewalt also has a slower charging rate. The Dewalt also can't be used with Milwaukee M18 batteries.

@@wim0104 Let me know if you could find one that's UL-rated and doesn't bypass or compromise Li-ion power tool batteries' built-in safety measures. I've never seen adapters from reputable companies, they're always no-name brands on ebay and Amazon.

@@hilariohernandez340 Every brand's answer to "what took you so long?" is always the same, and so I stopped asking. Dewalt's has been due for a refresh in my opinion. If Milwaukee's M18 Carry-on sells well, we can hope for Dewalt to launch an upgrade. It's good to have more options. The Dewalt power station came out 6 years ago. Dewalt did a great job with their new 20V Max USB adapter (toolguyd.com/dewalt-usb-charging-kit-dcb094-review/), and can possibly work some of that modern tech (e.g. USB-C PD) into an upgraded AC power station.
