Wow love it when I was a kid I wrote the notes down E,B,G,B,E,B,G,B I ended up getting the E,B,G,Bs. Great work girls I played all that stuff in the 70s.
Great sound mixed with the Ventures and the Shadows. I'm not sure the Shadows played Pipeline which is originated by the American instrumental group, the Chantays. Thanks for posting! From San Jose, Ca USA.
I lived on Oahu, Hawaii and on the North Shore of the Island is a stretch of beach known as The Pipeline.....This Moondoggie was too young to be allowed out in the water to surf....but we went and sat for hours watching The Pros literally get Schooled by this piece of The Ocean.....The Crickets are Gnarly playing this Bitchen Song of my youth!
Wow! That was awesome. Every bit as good as The Chantays, and without a keyboard. If I may, rhythm player, try an up-stroke on the Em in the beginning.
Love Huntington Beach. Played the area at The Taco Surf a few times with Mid Life Crisis. However, these days I don't like flying otherwise we would be there. Zoe McCulloch. The UK is mainly Shadows music but I have been out and I am good friends with The Ventures and love them as I do all the surf bands.
When I was a little kid, I heard this song on the radio and adopted it as my crime-fighting super hero "action" theme... I'm totally flashing back to those late 1960s days with this excellent rendition!
She had me at "Ghost Riders in the Sky." Then I looked for "Apache," followed by "Pipeline." Now, I am going to look for, "Green "Onions," then "Tequila." She is goooooooooooooood! (DH, Oklahoma City, Mar 10, 2020)
You girls are really good!! Your instrumentals are to the tee....you do need a singer thou if you were to go any further....still wouldn't stop me from seeing you play...
I never go more than a few days without listening to these guys or the surfragettes. Brings back memories of our band in HS. Except we pretty much stunk.
Love it!!! I just played pipeline and all the Ventures songs over and over for my little grandson a few years back. So far I think u guys did this one the best out of all of em!👍it just rocks!!! I love it!!!😊
Somewhere, someplace I see Buddy Hollie and his crew grinning and toasting you with Ambrosia! Well done Ladies, well done, you are doing their memory proud!
You all sound great! You might enjoy listening to 'Johnny October', by the Woodchucks (1964). In any event, thanks, more than you know, for sharing your great music! - Neal A. Haight
Not sure how the Ventures came into this but The Chantays Pipeline was written in 1962 by Bob Spickard & Brian Carman who passed in 2015. As for guitars, the Chantays used Fender Strats and Fender Jazzmasters.....contrary to common perception, Jazzmasters were quite popular with the Surf bands in the day including the Lively One's and Ventures....
Zoe Mccollough. Not really well known, but should be. She imo one of the best playing this kind of music. I wonder if nokie Edwards did some teaching to her.
