Nathan, I am a huge fan of your vlogs! I started watching because I'm a beginner surfer, but watching you be silly with your friends and gf quickly became my favorite part! Your lifestyle is a literal dream.
Ikr... Totally soul. That kid should try giving it a bodysurf, too - particularly when having trouble making it out with a board. There's caves down in the reef that you can swim down into - and wait out some of the detonation going-on above you... It can be really fun, too.

Thing I noticed with your surfing Nate, was just how low you're getting on your backhand bottom turns.....you're literally sinking your bum into the wall as you're turning, not waiting to do it inside the barrel. I am not sure how to reach Nathan but as a retired So Cal surfer after a back surgery shut me down 25 years after I first learned how at North Jetty in Oceanside, CA I would like to thank you for the You Tube vids. You are a totally such a quality bro as I watch you surf Chopes and the North Shore and many other spots. I never made it to the north shore but through all of the collective video's I've learned a ton about a place I dreamed about going to most of my early years in life "Pipeline." This has been your best Vlog to date. The reality of surfing pipe. It's not all fun and games and glorious tube rides. That was the session that separates the men from the boys.

Yeeeeeew! Glad to be able to witness the madness at pipe. That wave continues to prove itself as a dangerous beauty. Also worth noting is that insane recovery from Mason on that one wave. On a side note, I think it's good that you delve more into different topics, when to duck dive vs when to bail. Youd think à duck dive was successful until you realize maybe it was better to bail as you're going over the falls lol. Keep pushing them vids!
The surfing part: If I was only listening to the music, I would believe it's a warriors fighting scene .. it clearly is ^^''' Deep down inside I'm shaping my dream to surf that wave one day. Really love the style of the surfing clips, intense music, wipeouts rescues and bail outs. Thats was surfing a big day is like, not some happy tune and perfect barrels all the time.

lol know that feeling so well...mates duckdiving just beside you it seems & you don't quite make it, get smashed by the rest of the set & washed in watching m8's get another wave while your still scratching...but anywayz, fark well done that was mental.....one of the most epic recoveries I've ever seen at 14:35 (Ho I think), thats right up there with Slater falling off in the barrel during a pipe comp the other year, but somehow getting back on 8 D
Super HEAVY!!! Amazing Vlog! Looking at some of those beautiful frothy 2nd reef open-faced roll-ins...reminds me of a conversation that I had with Pat Curren at Shipwrecks (Cabo) in the earlier 1990's... I'd heard that he and a few of the other early N. Shore chargers used to Bodysurf Pipeline - in the days before it was considered a "surfable" wave (in part because - GNARLY!!! - and of course in part because guys were riding 50+ lb. logs... Until the first guy [¿John Peck?] made one - people regarded Pipe as a suicide mission)... He confirmed that he and some others used to bodysurf those kinds of perfect 2nd Reef bombs - but that they'd usually pull-out, before it hit the first and detonated. As someone who loves bodysurfing - and big Pipe - I'd suggest that people should give it a go... Thanks for the amazing footage. I'm totally stoked on you. Love "the Drill-do"... 😂 - if that thing goes-off in your luggage - you get to have an awkward conversation with TSA...
