Done it for 40 years towards the end the old doll was happy to see me go . Then when gone for more than 2 weeks she wished I was at home . It worked both ways in this regard. It helps to be a little schizophrenic . For me it was compartmentalizing in ones mind home and work and keeping them separate ( when at work think only of work and phone home every second day at night ) hahaha that sounds crazy doesn't it ? It worked for us and we have been and still are together after 40 years . Which is not normal in the construction business. Been retired now for 3 years but I still have my rig . It is hard to sell something that makes you money . You never know.
bart bley it truly is about making it work for you. Already happy to hear stories of really people who put in the work and made it work. Hope you enjoy retired life together. I can imagine that too comes with an adjustment period. I agree on not selling the rig truck - I forever Austin always having one!
Awww! Stay strong, being separated is truly hard, I’ll keep you in my prayer. Things happen for a reason. Great to see you vlog this, ive had the hubby leave without me u are so thoughtful on packing things for him!
my wife and I like all your videos. Sorry about Austin having to go back to work. if you guys ever close by or need a place to stop. We live 35 min. South east of where you had your camper worked on. have a great day. :)
i just got the call last night, and i’m soo happy it did cuz it was driving me crazy, can’t stand being trap in a fab shop, i need the open spaces and fresh breeze! go get it austin time to do some work!!
Heck ya. Excited for you. Austin was defiantly starting to get ants in his pants. Now just going to be waiting on that spring time weather!! Where are you headed?
i just got back from a job . So I’m on the other end of our world . kids be smart with your money and enjoy life outside of working and spend it with family .
Yes it can be. We love the lifestyle - doesn't mean parts aren't less than great. It is a package deal though and thats ok. Hope all is well in your world.
Pipe welding is a life lived on the road. I've been a boomer since I was 20 years old finally retired. I'm 74 now still love to weld LOL I'll go out cut coupons and run beads and hot passes cuz you never know just might want to go out and light up. LOL and also go out and run some 2-inch coupons with my TIG rig welding is my life I'm a third-generation my son is the fourth
you guys should make a vid explaining the way to go for young people wanting to start working in the pipeline (like me). i personally want to do it but don’t know where to start or how it works. i would appreciate any feedback
Austin, get you some buritos and wrap them in aluminum foil. Throw them on the exhaust manifold. I do that when swathing in the summer. Cooking time varies, but around 20 minutes would be a good place to start.
I worked in the Bloomsburg Pa area back in May on the 610 compressor station...... worked the stainless Lube oil lines on the station with a good couple guys...... I’m a bldg. trades welder..... 22 yrs..... just getting into the Rig work...... should of done it sooner
Livin' the life folks, 30+ years believe me forced retirement sucks. As a commercial Diver/Ironworker/welder its more about the friends on the road that we miss more than anything.
You may want to check out our new to pipeline series. You can find it in the playlist tab on our channel. We talk in some of those videos how to get your first pipeline job.
Stumbled across your channel one night! Been hooked since. And yes quite a few of us. From central Missouri been in North Texas for 2.5 years. Living the fifth wheel life 👍🏼👍🏼
That is so cool. I would love to talk to you more about this. Can you email me at kayla@industrialtradition.com? Or drop me your email here and I can shoot you a message?
We are from Payne County. I'm not sure how far away, but still devastated by the news and for the families. So so sad. I need to catch up on the story. I haven't checked back on what they found out during the investigation. Have you heard anything?
Good Lord,I haven't heard the name White Haven in a long time.I use to fish the White Haven River when I was a kid.I use to live in Jeddo Pa. now living in upstate New York,Welding was my second career, retired 9 years ago but still do a ton of welding on the side.
We hope to keep them consistent one way or another. He's wanting too for sure. We will probably send updates through email. If you want you can drop him yours on his website and that should keep you updated. www.arosswelding.com/subscribe
Austin, what model of welder do you have? I just bought a SA-250 with a remote plug in and have to buy a remote. Have any suggestions on what model of remote to buy? It has a 3 cylinder Perkins in it.
Austin and Kayla he will be close to me till him if he ever needs help or has a weekend off looking for something to do hit me up. I have been here the last 6 years. As summer comes in we could hit the lake up in Maryland that’s near southeastern PA

Sorry to hear that, y'all stay blessed, love y'alls out look on life and everything y'all do. I wish I was out there on the road years ago. Instead of 37 doing the plant life. Be safe and careful, thanks for the reply. Keep the videos coming. Very inspiring in every day life not just the pipeline life.
You do the same. Happy you found us. We love doing this so we can meet folks like you we maybe wouldn't run into during everyday life, but share the same life goals and values as us. Wishing you well in everything you do. Stay safe.
I enjoy ever thing y'all put out, even like Jacob Schofield. If y'all don't know him look him up, he's just like y'all helping folks out. Keep up the good work...
that's awesome to stay within driving distance. My brother chased rigs down there for 2 years and it was a wild ride for him I know. Be safe. They drive like crazy people down there. I've never seen so many people just cut off a main highway into the ditch to a side road before. lol I couldn't stop laughing.
The ones he is wearing aren't, but the ones he was packing were. It isn't as uncomfortable as you would think looking at them. I (Kayla) even like the feel, but we grew up on it so it's kinda normal for us.
