First thing i did when i bought my 2012 6.7 cummins was get rid of the egr and throttle valve and put a tuner on it to not throw codes has over 430k miles still running great and gets better mpg and more power when i did all that i also got a 6 spd manual trans i love my truck has never let me down or cost me money other then filters and stuff like that
I daily drove a Chevy for 28 years, daily driver! The only reason I sold it was I wanted a bigger truck. After 28 years and 1.7 million miles, it still had the factory power steering fluid in it, and the factory clutch fluid, other than changing the battery and alternator a couple times, I absolutely never had any problems with it.
Nice looking truck, however your mistake was ever-thinking Chrysler was a good company (though many large domestic companies are not that great). Cheers sir.
Thanks! Not as of yet. I’ve been pulled over for speeding once but the officer didn’t say a word about the tint. I also don’t drive around like a 16 year old attracting a bunch of attention.
Had a jeep and it was a nightmare from day one...Had it for 2 years and a year of that time it was in the shop... Never again will I own a chrysler product...
I just started my own mobile welding company need to get all the stuff I need to actually get the ball rolling makes me smile seeing a fully done up rig truck telling myself it’s gunna be me soon
It’s a pretty truck, hope your luck gets better with it. My early 02 6spd has been great to me, 490k and still runs great. Have been through 4 clutches though. Maybe it’s the work I do, maybe it’s me. Sometimes we get lucky, other times, not so much. Nice truck, I wish you luck and well wishes in life and in your career.
I really like the truck. That bed is slick looking and seems pretty functional... I have questions about the gooseball placement, but understand it with all the other gear taking priority. I did wonder what the big bolts are back there... I did hear you mention the two 2" receiver mounts for a beveler, but are those just mounting bolts where you had to chop the frame or is there something that mounts there? One thing I like about my short-wheelbase, single cab F-450/F-550 chassis cabs for the boat moving & hauling I do has been the wider front ends (with the associated turning radius) as well as the narrower rear end where the front tires track between the duals rather than with the inner. I kinda like the look of the P/U dually axles hanging out, but also appreciate the slimmer/tucked look of the CC where I'm less likely to clip objects in tight spaces. On our new 2021 F-550, we modified a CM aluminum flatbed to fit a Ramsey 20k hydraulic winch and a 30k Reese 5th. It's got a couple cargo boxes in front of the tires for tools and straps. I splurged on a Kelderman shuttle rear air suspension on the 550 because the 450 was a beast on the ol' kidneys. We haul a Brownell 10 ton highway trailer that is fully hot-dipped galvanized and scales out at 8,400 empty and the whole rig, loaded, has gone across the scales at 38k. The trailer goes down the boat ramps and submerged in Maine salt water 3-5 times a day during the spring and fall, so it's a maintenance nightmare... mostly the brakes and hub seals. I've never been a fan of the aesthetic of the Ranch Hand bumpers, but I do see their functionality. I clobbered a doe with 450 and mangled the bumper, kinda like you did, without damage to any other panels, but haven't found a decent replacement that tucks in tight but also offers a rugged 2.5" receiver so I can move my hitch up front for easier trailer moves around the yard.
Thanks a lot! The 4 bolts are for my 5th wheel hitch. I pull my camper with this truck. My camper has about 2,000 pounds of tongue weight. With the weight of the welding machine, leads, tools and bottles all in front of the axle, the weight balances out nicely and the camper pulls great. I’ve pulled the camper over 16 hours away from home with no issues at all.
Let's be honest they're all junk. Ford, ram, gm, all have the same emissions problems and we're seeing trans and fuel system failures in the Ford's too 🤷♂️
I had them in my last truck and wasn’t a huge fan of them. They were a little harder than i was planning on. They did exactly what they were supposed to do though, my carpet looked brand new when i sold the truck.
Beautiful rig I have created a fascination with welding rigs since hauling some pipeline equipment for a local job. Carli makes great suspensions CJC off-road even has custom deaver sets for the rear for the added weight in the bed at all time. The kings from a pintop would make this rig ride day and night torsion sway bar is a great addition.
I wish they let us use 5 percent tint in Texas its illegal on the front glass here, plus any tint on the front windshield except the eyebrow is illegal too and wont pass inspection.
It’s pretty much illegal everywhere but we don’t care. Find a spot that won’t care about the tint I promise there’s a shop somewhere in Texas that will pass it 🤙🏽
It’s not legal here, but I’ve never had trouble. As long as you’re not being an idiot the cops really don’t care about window tint. It’s usually an extra ticket if they pull you over for something else. lol
You have a muffler on there? Or just straight pipe? I love the sound of a straight pipe Cummins but I also don’t want to deal with a drone when pulling a trailer
Plus its hotter than a mofo here in summer., I am probably going to take the rear window tint off and redo it with 5 percent instead of the see thru tint on there now.
@@DownhillWelder300 100% lol. I’ve realized If you have more than 3 problems in quick order. Unrelated. Truck is most likely a lemon. I’m so invested in mine I’m stuck with it. Maybe after I replace every part on the truck. It will run for 6 months before I have to do it again.
I’m surprised you’re the first person to ask about them. My family and my wife’s family are all JI Case fans. Between the two families, we own around 50 tractors. My wife’s family currently still farms with nothing but ji case horsepower. My mom actually worked at a case dealership when i was younger.
I really enjoy watching your videos and really love the truck and the setup that you have. I am putting a flatbed on mine soon. Do you have any info/pics of how you mounted to the bed to the truck?
Awesome! When you have a free moment can you send me a pic of what the mounts you built look like on the truck? looking for an idea of a very strong mount to tow gooseneck and on the bumper pull and I just don’t want the bed to be the weak link. Or any weak links for that matter.
I built brackets that mount under the retainer for the sun visors. They work great and can be removed without ever knowing a radio was mounted up there.
That’s awesome cause I was just curious out here it’s mostly all three distribution high pressure and transmission you guys burning on all tdw or you guys still using mueller cause you were saying 7018 for procedure figure it was for in service pipe
@@DownhillWelder300 I have a 06 g56 3500 Cummins I bought new and still love it it’s a White Sport Laramie it been flawless but I love your dually as well. Stay safe my Cummins man 👍🇺🇸✌️
I have to say that bed with the matching bodylines is perfect. I love it when the time is taken to do the matching body line into the aftermarket bed(i just started watching this, not sure if u built or bought the bed - yet). It looks sooo much better when its smoothed out like that and not just a sharp corner starting the bed.👍🏻👌🏻🛠️🔧🔩🦺🗜️⛓️🚧⚠️
