Good call on podcastone being total scammer middleman bulshit that takes a cut of all your commercials, they probably have absolutely nothing to do with the production of the broadcast oh, you just owe them money
Got to meet him in the late nineties. One of the nicest, most down to earth human beings you'd ever want to meet. Installed a chandelier in his home and the man personally served my boss and I sandwiches and sodas. He was so nice and understanding at my awe and hero worship and spoke to me at length about wrestling and life in general. He'd have been well within his rights and understandable if he had told me to just shut up and do the job I was hired to do but he didn't. Uncut, uncensored and unapologetically raw, straight up and honest. I wish I could have spent more time with him. RIP Roddy
It's sad he had so many things in the works before he passed movies food products websites podcasts I would have loved to see all that happen for him R.I.P MR.PIPER
Hot Rod I miss you more than words could explain you were a straight up mans man no nonsense tell it like it is Something that is sorely missed today A true original. The Original Bad Ass
Harry Smith got pissed about this. I doubt jake would lie as he would have seen back stage stuff. And I know davy boy ain't around to defend himself I understand that. But if it happened that way then Davy boy was messed up in the head
Dude, listening to Jake talk about his life and all the shit he went through in life, it really shows how strong of a person Jake had to be outside the ring, and its mind blowing
you can always tell how tough a person was in his fomatable years by how comfortable he is showing his softer more refined side later in life. not one of his animal mother friends would even consider disrespecting his gentle nature now. roddy can be himself now that he spent his life jumping from the top rope. his voice is sorely missed. rip roddy i love you man.
2 of my favorites. As McMahon brought in new talent I started resenting them in the gimmick days. Jake the Snake was a different story. I liked him instantly. I would even get upset when when the WWF stars in the territory when I started watching would lose to new guys. Jake was different, even as a heel I just liked him. Roddy was the top heel when I started watching WWF and I was never a fan of him as a wrestler. However after Kayfabe died and I saw him in interviews I ended up loving piper for the man he is (no homo). Great podcast host and guest.
Jake is such a Heel then you hear his backstory and its all the makings of what goes into somebody being a POS. Like he said he assimilated/conformed to all the bad traits around him. If there was a villain/Heel prototype it would be Jake.
Miss this guy, thanks for uploading these podcasts. This was a good episode. Dark, but good. Wish they’d had more time together to tell some more road stories.
Jake is exaggerating so much during this interview. #1: Albert never had a 26' foot retic that weighted 375lbs. #2: As of this VERY second, there's no snakes over 25' in the US and none at that weight. Even notorious power feeder - retic breeders like Jay @ Prehistoric Pets don't have snakes that size. Source: Ask anyone in the industry
Could listen to these 2 chat for hours! Thank goodness this was recorded for future generations to hear since Roddy is no longer here. Just wish they had more conversations for us to listen to and they had gotten to work together in the WWF more. It would have been a great feud.
