I personally find this movie very interesting. Because it gives Captain Jack's character a chance to develop. I mean the previous villians were hilarious and even in a way likeable. Blackbeard was a calm devil. There are several scenes in this movie depicting his goodness, his fears, his anger and desperation.

The mermaids werent evil, they were just defending their home from pirates who intend to exploit them. They were feral indeed, but not evil. And Syrena is the most humane of all the mermaids.
I absolutely LOVE how accurate the mermaids are in this movie! I wish we got more depictions like this in other mermaid media, and not the watered-down Disney version. Give me the cannibalistic beauties!

And even if he would be alive - their character journeys have ended. There is not much to tell that wouldnt either be pointless oder invalidate their journey. Now if u just wanna see a dude and a mermaid make out and fuck than i am sure u will find material on the internet. In any othercase i have no idea what kind of story u would want to tell about them.
