this is literally the best cake you will ever eat. The recipe below is and 8X8 or 9 inch round. Double it for a 9X13
Ingredients:
1 package yellow cake mix
i package 3.4 oz instant pistachio pudding mix
4 eggs room temperature
1 cup club soda
1/2 cup canola oil
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
For the filling
1 box instant pistachio pudding made as directed
For the icing
1 cup heavy whipping cream
3/4 cup cold milk
1 package instant pistachio pudding mix
2 tsp confectioner sugar
chopped walnuts for garnish

Been making this cake for years, only difference being that I mix the pudding with Cool Whip for the icing. Definitely going to have to try making it like this!

Thanks. Mother has been making this for years and it's been excellent. Now I wanted to do something different. It was a big hit. Especially the frosting recipe with the confectioner sugar. 🤭🤭secret-I add a teaspoon of almond extract and sub ginger ale instead of club soda.

I have been searching for a good recipe for pistachio cake for St. Patrick's Day and none appealed to me until this one. I just finished making it with 2 changes: for the filling I used 1.5 cups cold milk instead of 2 as on package directions because I prefer a firmer filling. And I added 1/2 cup roasted/unsalted pistachios to the cake batter AND 1/2 cup pistachios in the filling. I decorated the frosted cake top with a design of whole pistachios. UPDATE: The cake was very moist and tasty. I only wish the pistachio flavor was stronger.

Ok I make the midori cake.i deCided to give this a go I made it like the midori cake but I added Club soda and walnuts. It seems a bit soupy I hope I didnt ruin it by adding the soda I use 1 cup yogurt instead of of half cup of oil and half cup pln.yogurt.i use 4 eggs midori pudding mix.the midori bundt I use confect.sugar and melon liquor for the I iceing its mixed over grest6 and as it cools u poor on top and add remaining to the bundt hole in the center and it absorbs it in a day or 2.maki g it very moist and amazingly good

The towel trick is great. I have done that and I also bought strips that do this when I saw them on sale😀 my cakes always take longer to cook when I use either method. Making this cake right now. Can't wait to taste it

I made it in a bunt pan & used only one ☝️ box of pudding mix. Six boxes is too expensive for my blood 😆 that’s about a $20 cake when it’s done. I dusted it with powdered sugar. Turned out good ! 😋🤙

I made the frosting with 8oz cream cheese, 1/2 cup butter and 2 cups powdered sugar. After I creamed those together, I added 1 pack of pistachio pudding to 1/2 cup whole milk and stirred it up VERY well until the mix was completely dissolved (otherwise it could get gritty)... Then I added it to the cream cheese mix. In a separate bowl I whipped one cup of heavy whipping cream with a tiny bit of almond extract then folded it into the cream cheese mix.... Holy cow was it delicious!! And it held up great in the fridge! Thanks for the cake recipe, it was awesome!

I would make 2 separate cakes in that 9x13 and eliminate the steps of cutting and risking the cake might break on the process.

I have watched hundrets of cake videos but I do have to say that while people in Amerika make good cake they lack asthetics. They don't take care to make them beautiful. Most are just slapped together with sloppy runny frosting. Make this with proper buttercream frosting. (Your pudding mix and real butter ) and you will get a frosting you can work with. Then take the piping bag with a star nozzle and decorate in 12 sections ( slices).you will get a cake where the eye wants to eat too.

Pistachio cake is a thing in my culture too but damn it's so good. This recipe is very similar! We call it ''Bolo di pistacho'' but it's a bit expensive to make because pistachios are pricey. Wish there was instant pistachio filling or pudding where I live, that would save a lot of time.

This cake is from the 70’s it’s actually called a watergate cake. I think instead of club soda the original recipe calls for 7 up.
