I love my Pistons man. I wasn’t alive during the Bad Boys era, wasn’t old enough to remember the 2004 Pistons, but I’m excited to watch Cade and the young crew get us some rings. We’re beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Go Pistons! Detroit Basketballll
That was the greatest fight song in pro sports at the time. Still gives me goosebumps and chills, loved the way our Bad Boys defended our city's honor!🔥
I played high school ball during the Bad Boys era. Greatest Defensive Team of ALL TIME. They literally forced Michael "Jackass" Jordan to learn PASS THE BALL. Basketball is BORING, now.
They had a song before that in the early years, that went "The Pistons are Young, Strong, and coming on, the Pistons are coming on"! And there was one in the Bad Boys days, called "DOWN AT THE PALACE"! It said, "we don't need a Magic, Jordan or a Bird, when got you Isiah, Vinnie and a Worm, DOWN AT THE PALACE, dancing in the seats, Vinnie and Bad Boys are playing , yeah the PISTONS CAN'T BE BEAT"!
P-p-pump it up (Pistons) P-p-pump it up (D-D-Detroit Pistons) P-p-pump it up (P-P-Pistons) P-p-pump it up Do it Detroit, keep the crowd roarin' From New York, Chicago to Portland Pump it Pistons this jam for you Show the world what the real Bad Boys can do We swept the Lakers in four Now we're back to take the title once more 'Cause we're bad (and by bad but good??) Hammer time so let's make it understood They wanna get beat, victory is sweet The score don't lie and the refs don't cheat We're the Pistons, yeah we love comp Bring on the best and watch 'em get stomped By the World Champions, number one In Detroit we get the job done With a slam dunk, we're playing to win And after this year we're gonna do it again (Chorus) Jump ball, tip to Isiah Superstar, under par, all around playa Fake the pass, give it the dance Finger roll, count it for two How does he do it? Only god knows Vinnie Johnson, the Microwave Heats up the J, he'll burn you for days Laimbeer with a money back guarantee A killer in the paint, hit man for three The Spider, the glider, Salley on the slam Stop him with the shot block, knock it to the next man Dumars droppin' the bomb Star Wars, a three-point alarm Aguirre's on fire, Rodman on D Edwards in the center, throwing down for me With a slam dunk, you know you can't touch this Back to back, you're about to get dusted (Chorus)
It is a shame, with old this Bad Boys repeated chanting, it's been lost on how good the Pistons were beyond the brutal defense. Dumars and Thomas both could play the point position, Edwards, Lambeer, Salley, Rodman, and Mahorn all had game inside. The bench was four men deep, so they could always have fresh legs to run your a** off late in the game. Chuck Daily collected a unique squad and sold them on a set of tactics that should have won them three straight NBA titles.
