Johnny Kane caught up with Jaden Ivey, who helped propel the Pistons to their second win in a row, a 128-122 overtime victory over the Trailblazers, with 26 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, including going 7-7 from 3-point range.
Finally getting to see this young core getting meaningful minutes together is what a lot of us have been waiting for - so better late than never. Go Pistons!
Got to say, Johnny Kane is getting really comfortable and great at his craft in the last couple years. He's really been able to accumulate himself well with the Tigers and Pistons culture
Surprise look what happens when you play Jaden at the 1 and Cade at the 2, they fit great. All that talk about “they can’t fit together” yet we never tried what we did today until more than halfway into the season. Where you trade Cade clowns at now? Also Killian waived and Sasser gets those minutes. Hallelujah!
Cade has no business running point, it's got to be Ivey, Sasser, doesn't matter. Keep Cade playing off ball, it opens it up for him to do his thing anyway.
Here, you dudes go with this fictitious narrative. Cade was the primary ball handler, and him and Ivey played great off each other. This game was indicative of Cade and Ivey not being held back by out of control jackers in Bojan and Burks. Many of you dudes are so delusional or just stupid that you can have clear visual evidence of your error and still come back saying the same bullshit. Just admit you were wrong. Cade is the point, and Ivey is the scorer as it should be.
@@ethankinnunen4839the only way this works is if Ivey is the main point guard and Cade is the secondary playmaker like Booker. Long term Ivey needs to be the man. He puts so much pressure on the defense. He still needs to clean up some sloppy play but I like where he is headed.
This reminds me of when the lions were 1-6 every 1 called for dc job then out of darkness came light and we all see were that went this team finally has some players that can compliment each other
Our Team Chemistry is building now they starting to learn how to play together & Congratulations J.I. Your Hard work and determination to improve is showing much success for the rest of the season and future
Amazing shooting from 3 but he couldn’t score a layup to save his life and was missing too many free throws in crunch time. Back to back game and he played more minutes than anyone so can’t fault him at all but he’s really going to be great, he and Sasser play great together
He should have been asking Marcus Sasser. He was the hero this game, Ivey was giving it away and Duren and Sasser were covering for him. Those six turnovers were the reason for falling behind and constant missed layups down the stretch when they weren’t covered by Duren putting it back in were as good as another turnover going the other way. People will get enamored with the 7/7 from three, which was great for them but 1/13 FG a part from it and not going back to Sasser who had the hot hand was poor decision making at best and bad leadership at worst.
If still isn’t an excuse. They were up by 23 against “one of the worst teams in history”, after a close win in LA, with half the roster gone, with Cade still on injury watch. Trailblazers just had two days off at home, 2 g leaguers which surprisingly didn’t do bad today. Also grant had more foul shots then Ivey had regular shots. Really no excuse
Burks chucks up shots JR Smith style out of turn. Not gonna ever miss him. He has one of the worst career records no matter what team he plays for. I likeBogey, but Bogey can't defend the perimeter, and we need that more than his scoring. Holding on to guys that don't fit is what losing franchises do. We actually ripped several band aids off and we will play better because of it.
I’ll disagree. Pistons were missing a lot of players too. The young guys showed the talent and resilience. This is a good win. Yes Portland was short handed too. But we weren’t at full strength either.
