You can call Pit Boss and they will email you a address to send your controller to and they will flash it to update the firmware so you will have 10 degree incremental temperature adjust from 200F-300F and 25 degrees of temp adjust above 300F
@@greatwhitenorth3717 you can Google pit boss phone number and ask but I think it is about a 2 week turn around. There are a few videos on the controller removal so search it on RU-vid.
Thanks! I was pretty set on this model once I saw that the Wi-Fi/Bluetooth feature. Also, we have a pretty big family and the larger cooking area is a must. My brother had the Rancher 1000 XL already and it seemed like a good, solid unit. Once I saw this one in person, compared to the Traegers in the same price range, it was a no brainer for me.
Your defuser plate isn’t set in properly. The 2 slits on the left should be locked into the plate below it. Then the sear lever will operate straight rather then on the angle it’s on in the video. Thanks for the review.
Bought this unit about a month ago. The cooking real estate is massive. Two things I don’t like. The upper rack is in the way of grilling. Removed it problem solved. The smoke it app sucks. For me anyway might play with it later. Bring on the fun in the sun😉🥃🇺🇸
Also Pit Boss has an update to the firmware of the Pro 1150 controller so all you have to do is call Pit Boss and they will email you the address to send it and they will update and ship your controller back with 10 degree incremental temperature adjust from 200F - 300F and 25 degrees of temp adjust above 300F
Got one….frickin awesome! Yes…loose the upper rack and remove the great in the pellet hopper for more capacity! Smoke it app works nice! I do Tri Tips and Ribeyes all the time and my first Brisket last week! Crowd pleaser right there!
The handle for opening the sear plate looks like it's angled down. Do you have the plate set up right on the left side of the smoker so that it's angled down? I had the same problem when I first put mine together and it turns out I didn't have that plate set up right.
@@mikesauro83 waiting for my controller to be shipped back, should be here by Friday. Going to do some pineapple soy glazed pork belly bites and a brisket for the weekend and then a couple chickens during the week .
Run an external temp probe in the grill i took mine back because mine was set at 350 holding temp anf my external probes 2 inches away from the internal probe of the unit was 120 degreese off. Js the 1150 wont hold temp at all
Had my first issue the other day. After 20 minutes, I threw the insulated blanket on and it came up really quick. It was -2° C here with the windchill. Other than that, it's been great. Did a roast at 225°, took it off and turned the temperature up to 450° to sear, and it only took 6 minutes.
@@mcs26 I just baked some chicken breasts again last night. First time, it took 17 mins and last night it was 20. Mind you, I put on the insulated blanket. Is it colder where you're at?
I’m in cleveland, but I have the 1600. I haven’t used it on really cold days yet though. I wonder if the 1600 just had more issues getting up to temperature
Call Pitboss and theyll send you a new updated control module for free that allows you to raise the temp in 10 increments like 260 270 280 etc. Theyll just ask you where did you purchase it and the serial number
It seems with the problems they're having with the controllers they would install the updated version. I'm hesitant on pulling the trigger on purchasing the pit boss for this reason .
