Such a great video Ricer, another fantastic, and fun edit! I really enjoyed As they were unloading it off the truck, and the "thank you, good job" to your wife, lol! There is no doubt that is a beast of a cooker, and I'm really excited to throw down some chow on it! I cannot wait to see what you cook up on it brother! Again, great job, and cheers! Also, your kid wearing Mountain Dew boxes as snowshoes was GOLD! Haha! and thank you for the shout out buddy!
Hahaha ya there certainly is some good classic scenes in this one!! Thanks for watching and I am fired up to do the Burn Off next and you showed me a lot in your video so I can jump right on it without reading the manual!! hahah !! Wow the 1600 is packed with new features and I can honestly say from what I see this is where the new unbox pellet grill bar is now set!! Pit Boss came to win a championship!! Thanks for watching Darrin and it was my pleasure to give you that shout out!! Talk soon brother!!
Ricer excellent job didn't even have to look at the directions once I think they just need to have you produce how to video's on all their pits got it together with a little help from my 9 yr old granddaughter and my son helped flip it over Thanks again and definitely a big one you named it right
Awesome Bill, I am glad I was able to help out!! Have fun and you certainly can cook a lot of grub in this pit!!! Be ready for a controller update and it is 100% worth doing it if yours does not have the 10 degree increments!! Thanks for watching!!

Hahahah ya never fails as soon as I press record someone tries to bother me!! hahaha Ya Claude this cooker is HUGE and I am excited to burn it in tomorrow!!!!!!! Have a great week and like always thanks for watching brother!!
I am glad they listen and upgraded all the features that was modified on the pit boss austin xl but I don't know if I can spend $1000 but great video thanks
YA the issue is they are only going to get more expensive with the current atmosphere we are dealing with in the world right now! Wait until you see the new Elite!! They listened to me again!! hahaha Thanks for watching!
I had a pit boss at one time and sold it when I got my OKJ rider deluxe. It was nice except it wasn’t upgraded like that 1600 is. I had to remove a grate to open the sear function and it wasn’t tall enough to do beer can chicken. I love that rack hanger they added and the griddle is awesome. And the bar to open the seat plate is a no brainer for me. Can’t wait to see what you smoke on it
Ya Barry Pit Boss really up'd their game for sure on this cooker!! Going to fire it up tomorrow and do the burn off so we will see how it rolls!?!?! Always fun to break in a new pit and see how it handles!! Thanks for watching bro and I appreciate you leaving a comment!! Have a great week!!
Thanks Butch! Ya this one was both fun to film and edit!! Going to fire up Huey for the first time tomorrow, we will see how he does!!! hahaha Thanks for watching brother!!

Heck ya Bill!! This is certainly going to be a fun cooker!! Glad to be back on the Boss again!!! Like always brother thanks for watching!! Hope we can hook up soon and do a fun cook together!!
good video but forgot the part to tighten the leg bolts before putting on the internal parts. also the utensil bolts that goes on the right side shelf.
Why thank you Matt!! I did my best but we had a blast filming this one even if is was only 2 degrees out!! hahaha But if I am going to get doing these in the winter I better buy a good space heater!! hahaha Thanks for watching and have a great week brother!!
It’s crazy yours was perfect. I just received mine and I was missing stuff another part was damaged another was rusted. It was very disappointing after spending so much on it, and customer service wasn’t exactly helpful seeing that they asked if it was something I could repair myself. It’s nice to look at, but next time I’ll buy AMERICAN made.
Ya Rob it certainly is a massive pit!! Tomorrow I am firing it up for the first time to do the Burn Off and I am fired up to get this cooker running!! Always fun to learn a new pit and this thing is loaded with features also!! Like always bro, thanks for watching!!!
Hahaha ya epic scene for sure and he didn't know I came out with the camera and busted him on film!!! hahaha Thanks for watching Troy!! Talk to you soon brother!
Thank you James!!! Ya I enjoy doing them also! A lot of camera work but still fun to film for sure!! Thanks for watching bro and I plan to film the burn off tomorrow!! Have a great week!!
Ya bro I think Pit Boss really stepped up to the plate with this one!?!?!? We will see tomorrow, I plan to do the burn off!!!! Hahaha well I enjoy filming the assemblies but there is a lot of camera work but still fun to do!! Thanks for watching and have a great week!!
Thanks Brad!! Heck ya bro I am pretty impressed with the how huge this pit is!! Some nice options and tomorrow I am going to fire it up!! Thanks for watching bro and I hope you have a great week!!!
Looks like a great cooker Ricer! Can’t wait to see it in action! Remember as I learned from you, your first cook should be chicken in case you mess it up because it’s cheap!
Hahahah ya but Dale I am skipping right up to brisket for the first cook, I got this!! But you stick with chicken!! hahaha Thanks for watching bro and this cooker is Huge and packed with features!!! Have a great week bro!!
Awesome Harley!! Thanks for joining the Dead Broke BBQ family!!! I had a lot of fun doing that video for Rus!! I got a lot of cooks and cookers coming in this year so it is going to be a busy year for sure!! Thanks again and I hope you are having a great week!!
Looks like another well thought out pellet grill. I like that griddle set up as well! LOL at your wife crashing the set. Does she know she is on RU-vid yet 😂
Hahaha ya I told her you asked for it you got it, "Welcome to RU-vidville honey"!! ha ha Pit Boss really raised the bar on the new Pro Series models and I am pretty impressed with all the new features and can't wait until I share more about it!! Thanks for watching Rus and see you Wednesday over on Smoky Ribs!! Have a great week brother!
Heck ya brother and glad you liked it!! Got more coming on this cooker and soon I will be swapping out the controller on it to get the firmware update!! Thanks for watching!!

Awesome video per usual ricer! I had to rewind and show the lady when your wife made her appearance and the “good job” haha she said I’m not that nice to her when she interrupts my videos... That pit boss looks legit! lol oh forward to seeing ya cook on him!
Hahahah ya never fails Brian, some one always has to bud in when I press record!! hahaha Family life!!! ha ha She made the cut because she said oh you never film me so there ya go honey!!! hahaha Ya bro excited to crank this up and I am planning on doing it tomorrow for the initial burn off!! This pit has a lot of features so fingers crossed it lives up to the hype!!! If it run just a little better than my 1100 and with the new features it will certainly be in the running for one of the best Pellet Grills in 2021!! Like always Brian, THANKA for watching dude! Have a great week!!
Heck ya Mike!! I use it all the time bro!!! Plus it wasn't very expensive either!!! Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for joining me last night for Tavern Talk!!! Have a great week Mike!!
Dang the editing was impressive and that was entertaining as anything for an assembly video! Love the bloopers in the whole video and the guest stars hah. Seriously awesome job Ricer and that does look like a beefy well thought out pit!
Thank you Charley!! This certainly was a fun video to film even if it was stupid cold out that day!! ugh!!! ha ha Pit Boss came to play with the Pro Series for sure and this truly is a one stop shop cooker!! Now tomorrow I will see how it preforms because it is Burn Off time and you know I love doing that!!! Like always brother thanks for watching!! Have a great week dude!!
Hahaha hey Tommy I owe it all to you showing me how to do that spin!!! Ya I laughed after I said SQUARE hole but forgot to say it again!?!?!? Then as I was editing I was glad I didn't repeat it because it was funny!! ha ha Thanks for watching Tommy and soon we need to chat about a cook or 2!!! Have a great week brother!

Hey Ricer ol' boy! I saw you over on Russ Jones channel smoky ribs. You guys did a great job making that video! Can't wait for your first cook on the 1600
Thank you Brian!!! Ya we had a lot of fun putting that one together! I certainly was honored when he asked me to do that video for him!! I left like I got trade to another team to go win a championship!!! ha ha I am fired up to get my first cook on this Galoot!! I did the burn off a couple nights ago and it ran pretty smooth!! Thanks for watching brother!!
The whole new Pro Series is awesome no matter what size but ya this cooker is a big galoot!! Thanks for joining the Dead Broke BBQ family!! Have a great day!!
Thanks Kent!! I certainly will name drop brother!! Love to see you get one of these!! Thanks for watching and I hope you have a great week!! Say hi to the family!!
Just subscribed from your video on Russ’s channel.... Great job. Not sure if it’s you or him getting the LSG pellet smoker, cannot wait to see that thing in action as it’s on my radar...Thanks man! 👍👊🇺🇸
Thank you Bobby!! We are both getting a LSG pellet. I am very excited about getting that pit and get some cooks off it!! Still probably a month out but LSG is closing in on getting a few production models ready!! They did tell me that hopefully soon Chris will be doing a walk around on the pit!! Then it shouldn't be long after that!?!? You certainly will know when I get it!! I will post a quick picture or a short when it comes in and then Burn it off!! I appreciate you joining the Dead Broke BBQ family!! Rus is a good friend and I was very honored when he asked me to do that video for him!! Pretty sure he will appear in a couple of my videos once that pit arrives! Have a great weekend!!
Hahahah ya Mike I plan on tomorrow firing it up for its main voyage!!! Huey is just as excited as I am!!! ha ha Like always brother thanks for watching and I hope you have a great week!!
Awesome Gary and welcome to the Dead broke BBQ family!! I appreciate you watching and glad you enjoyed the video on how a wood pellet grill works!! Rus and I had a blast doing it!!
Thanks you so much for joining the Dead Broke BBQ family and I am glad you enjoy my content!! I certainly will check out your channel as well!! Hope you are having a great week!!
I have the PB 1150 Pro PS 2 , I would really like to get the griddle but its unavailable in Canada and that sucks. Many of the accessories that PB makes are not available .
Yes Mike it does have a PID controller but I read that there is a firmware update for it that will provide more options on the smoking temps!!! I can say from running it now that it holds pretty dang good but this current controller took a while to get up to temp. So soon I will be pulling this controller out and getting the update!! Thanks for watching brother!
Love the video! Question though- is the griddle an upgrade you got somewhere else?? I’m confused. Don’t see anywhere that you get a griddle with that model... thanks!
Thanks Skip!! Well I am certainly going to sear something but I think some good ole hamburgers would be fun!!! But I do plan to do some breakfast videos once it warms up so I can do that outside!! Thanks for watching bro!!
Dude! I'm green with envy! I bought the 1500 pro in November and now I want the 1600. However the cost is too high as I would end up divorced! I love the 3 levels and the griddle. Will the griddle fit the 1500 Pro? How was the SMOKE-IT app? I find the range weak with the 1500. My wi-fi is good but the range is only about 15' with this app. I might as well just hang out by the grill.
Hi John!! Ya this thing is pretty big for sure! I am not sure about the griddle but the back of the pipe is squared off so probably not?!?!?! I honestly haven't setup the WiFI on this pit yet because rumor has it that there is going to be a firmware update on it and that means you have to send the controller in to them. Again "rumor" so once I get the word from Pit Boss I will certainly let everyone know in a video!! I did do the burn off on it last night and it ran pretty good for only being 12° out!!! I hope to have that video up by Monday!!! ha ha Yes keep the wife bro, WAY cheaper in the long run!! hahaha Thanks for watching!!
This grill needs two things. #1 who would get a smoker that can’t set at 275 ? It needs the new digital temperature setting. #2 It needs the curved metal plate modification installed beside the temperature probe to prevent the temperature swings. Once both of these are done THEN I’ll run out and buy one.
Ya Jay I agree and rumor has it that they is going to be a firmware update to it and that might give it at least a 270° or 280°. So moving in the right direction!! I just did the Burn Off on it and is held temps pretty good even if it is only 12° out today here. Now I will say it took longer than expected to get up to temp but under the circumstances it did a pretty good job! Thanks for watching and hopefully I get more news as I do more videos using it!!!
My guess it will but Pit Boss is doing a firmware update for these controllers now. Nothing wrong with the Rider!!! I like both brands equally!! This pit is very similar to the DLX but with the PID controller in the Boss now they certainly came to win the box store race!! Thanks for watching Troy!!
Awesome video. I have been debating upgrading from my 820 deluxe. I have delayed it because I heard their controller issues. You seen anything? I love this one and the laradeo.
Well they all rust eventually but as long as you keep them clean and covered after use it will take a while to rust. Mine are treated like cars because they are kept in the garage. But they will not rust up like a char broil. Thanks for watching!
William it is just like buying a car, the next year they have a new model and a new feature but it has the same purpose at the end!! $899 is what I have seen so far, not bad for the options and the size!! Thanks for watching bro!!
Hahahaha ya I might have to ask her to cook up some eggs seeing that she complained about not letting her be on film!!??!! hahaha Never fails bro as soon as I press record someone has to interrupt me!! hahaha Thanks for watching brother and I hope you have a fantastic week Dash!!
Hey everyone I pick up my PB1600 last week and have cooked on it a few times. I'm not sure if I want to keep it for almost $1000. I have noticed that there is big temp different on the grill vs the system temp probe. I had it set to 250 and the main grill was not getting above 210. I also asked PB about the upgrade on the controller they said it not getting an update anytime soon. I don't know if anyone else has one or the same issues. I'm thinking of one of the other brands.
I have heard they are getting close to the firmware update. I have had the same issue but around 30 degrees. I can manage that and once they get this update going I am certainly sending this controller in. Now I can say it has ran pretty efficient but I want more temp settings and get it to hang closer to what I set it at. There is always a difference in every cooker from the main probe to the grate temp so knowing that difference is the most important step. The best and most accurate cooker I have right now is the Pellet Pro 1190, it is in the single digits but that pit costs more than the 1600. I did a 2 brisket and 3 racks of ribs cook yesterday on the 1600 and I just ran the temp at 300 and I was able to cook around 270. IMO I would hang on to it until you are on the last day of returning it. Because this pit will be the go to for most once they get these few they released early adjusted. Thanks for the info brother!!
@@DeadBrokeBBQ Thank you for your reply, yes I know the difference with the main probe and actual grill temp I have had an old Louisiana cs700 grill. Well is good to know I'm not the only one with the problems with it. I was hoping it was not a defective unit. Thanks for sharing the news about the update, PB didn't share with me anything except there prewritten stuff. It's a good chunk of $$ to spend on something that's not up to par but I will give it some more time since I have 90 days to return it. Thank you again for your help and I am new to your channel and definitely liking the videos you have up! Have a great day.
So u are correct. Lowes was the only place. I'm currently on my way home after a 650 mile trip from. Ny.... 2 .... Ohio. But I got got one. Keep up the good work on the awsome updates. Tks agaon
I would certainly buy either the 1150 or the 1600 over the DLX. These new pro series models are a lot better than the DLX. I hope OK Joe comes out with e Gen 2 someday soon. But that controller is not a PID and it just doesn’t run as good as the new PB models.
Ya Ric it certainly is huge!! Excited to do the burn off on this monster to see how it runs!! Thanks for watching bro and I appreciate you dropping a comment!! Have a great week brother!!
Nope I will run it for a bit and then send in the controller for the update. I figured it wouldn't have it in one this one yet. All good!! I just need to know what temp it is running at really and I can get a couple cooks off it!!! Thanks for watching!!
Hahah that is the first one I could find and I said oh ya this looks retro!! hahaha Thanks for watching and what is your first name, you always comment so it is time we get on a first name basis!! hahaha

Howdy Ricer. I feel like a idiot, I was looking for how to send you a food/ cook picture for Sundays live but can't find it. Hopefully you will see this before it's too late for me to send you a picture, actually 2 pictures for the live. 👍 So send the email or whatever it is, thanks.
@@DeadBrokeBBQ so I tried sending the pics, not sure if I did it correctly. Let me know if you received, I tried twice. If it didn't come through I'll have to get help getting it done from one of my customers, she's my " tech support " , I'm such a caveman. 🧔🔥
