They live in the moment. Once they've been taken in by someone with patience and understanding, they learn - sometimes quickly, sometimes not so much - that not all humans are bad. Then they just want to live for "now", making the most out of their new lives. Though I do wonder if, at first at the very least, they turn into the "happy dog" to continue to keep these nice humans from turning against them. I couldn't blame them if they did it.

She reminds me so much of my Rufus. He would sure like playing with her. I prayed to God for my Rufus. I gave Him details about what dog I thought would be best for me, size, shape, coloring, and his disposition. I wanted a doggy that would draw me out, as I was still in deep grief over lost family members. He showed up on my friend's porch, on the coldest night of one of the coldest years. His feet were a little frost bit. He was about five months old. No one claimed him. He was exactly the dog I had prayed for, in every detail, and truly helped me in recovering from deep grief. I am so thankful for him!

My dog was picked up off the streets on a Sunday night. I was in the shelter first thing Monday morning and I saw him before he'd been washed or even had a kennel card made up. My hands were filthy from petting him. He's a 10 month old Pit bull with the same colors... and wags his tail the same way. Loves people, other dogs, even my cat... GREAT dog and he's been with me for a month now. I went to see him every day until they let me take him home... and I brought treats and toys. He follows me everywhere I go.

Tilly Too okay... 1. MOST pits do not lose their ears. I have never seen a pit without ears, let alone earless because their owners cut them off 2. Like the comment above mine has stated, ear docking isn't popular anymore anyway 3. This one IS different because her ears weren't docked, they were viciously ripped off by other dogs through dogfighting.

I just love you guys for seeing past her scars and for loving her, and being so patient with her. One of my girls came from an abusive situation. Scars, skin and bones. She is the most tender, precious girl. I’m so glad we took a chance with her. She needed every bit of love we had to give and she gave it right back. Calista just warms my heart. Bless all of you.

People always say pitbulls are so vicious, but what they don’t realize is that it’s the owner that taught them that. It could be a golden retriever literally trying to kill a person and people would think it’s the owners fault. They see a pit bull trying to kill someone they think it’s the breed.

the_søuth_side lock jaw is a myth please note that ALL terrier breeds were bred to bite and hold. Nothing about it is locked, even Jack Russel Terriers do it. If they were bred to hunt etc they have to hold. A bit education about it isn't hard.

The amount of people keep hating because there happens to be a dog attack and it's a pitbull but the next week is a German Shepherd or a Lab.. People are like there have been attacks from the Pitbull breed and that's it! I adore German Shepherds and golden retrievers & labs each breed is lovely honestly!! But people only focus the negativity towards Pitties which gives me bad feelings! 😕😕 Naturally a pitbull to be harmful motivated by its own brain wanting to maul people is like searching for Ufo's.. There might be some in the outer galaxies but it's something we won't actually see by owning and loving pitbulls at home.. 😊😊

Thank you so much for saving her and giving her a fair chance in life. She sure must have been used as bait in dog fights. Aggressive dogs, trained by unconscionable people tear other pits who are not aggressive. If they survive they are thrown away like garbage or killed. I’m sooo glad another pittbul puppy was saved and is helping more people understand that people are responsible for what happens to Pitbulls. A BIG THANK YOU!!!

I agree, but the arguement is, (a valid arguement): what if you are playing, being a little rough, and something triggers them, and reminds them that their previous purpose in a dog fight is to figh/kill; and that maybe they will be triggered, and then we have all the stories in the news to back it up: it can happen, although all the ones I have met have been just like this dog

LOTFH actually in the 90’s they were named the nanny dog because they were so sweet and good babysitters for kids. And I have a pit bull and he does not have not one bad bone in his body, it was a little dog that attacked him and all he did was sit there and wag his tail the whole time. And chihuahuas are more liking to bite and attack then pit bulls. The only time pit bulls are aggressive is if they are highly protective of there owners or they were trained that way

Pittbulls were specifically bred to hunt wild boar. I can understand your love for pittbulls, but not so much you thinking that they aren't born dangerous, because genetically they are extremely dangerous.
