@@gerhardspadinger6176 World titles? I mean he lived in Europe. A rider like Mick Doohan, for example, had to do everything just to get a ride in Europe. And then he won 5 on the trot (injury stopped him getting two earlier ones). Off the top of my head I would say Hailwood, Surtees, Read and Sheene were a level above Joey. He was clearly the best at the TT though and a hero for his humanitarian work. But overall, it's the Italians that win GOAT status. Agostini and Rossi, 1 and 2.

Für mich der größte überhaupt: ich sah ihn 1976 auf dem Nürburgring siegen, unvergeßlich ! For me the greatest man on bikes. I saw him winning 1976 on the Nürburgring, unforgettable !

I was lucky enough to see him race on the MV in his last season 1977 at Cadwell park in Lincolnshire UK , The bike sounded amazing back then, i believe he is also a very accomplished mushroom grower in Italy

J’ai eu la chance de voir Ago en course , au GP de France ( castellet ) ensuite bien plus tard aux coupes Moto Légende il m’a dédicacé son bouquin « la fureur de vaincre » ancien bouquin gardé dans ma bibli moto, depuis fort longtemps ! Un homme disponible , sympathique , peut être pas le plus grand de tous , car difficile de comparer des époques différentes ( Mike the Bike, Rossi) mais certainement l’un des plus grands pilotes de tous les temps ….et le plus titré pour l’éternité ✌️

1967, als man in Hoggene donnerstags,freitags noch ungestört ins Fahrerlager gehen konnte, zeigte mir ein sympathischer Italiener die MV Agusta von Agostini! Erst viel später, als im "Motorrad" ein Photo von Agostini OHNE Helm abgebildet war, erkannte ich, wer der freundliche Erklärer war.

La MV un bruit de F1, j’ai 68 ans et j’ai été un fan inconditionnel de AGOSTINI dans les années 70 j’ai vécu les plus belles années maintenant avec ROSSI qui est devenu mon idole avec AGO. Maintenant avec la retraite de Rossi c’est un gros point ????

1972, 200 Miglia di Imola. Box aperti, Agostini accanto a noi prima di partire con la MV 750. Via della corsa, spariscono tutte le moto verso la Tosa e guardate che non c'erano varianti, né quella di Senna al curvone e nemmeno quella bassa prima della partenza. Lo speaker: "Agostini è in testa alla Tosa, Agostini è in testa alle Acque Minerali, Agostini è primo alla Rivazza..." Attimi di silenzio incredibili, rumori lontani delle moto in gruppo e subito dopo lo speaker: "Signori: Giacomo Agostini!" e lo abbiamo visto sfrecciare davanti alle Ducati di Smart (che vinse) e Spaggiari, accucciato e inclinato verso il curvone, con un boato che solo la folla, davanti a quell'immagine, riuscì a sovrastare! Purtroppo presto la MV si ruppe, ma che tempi! Cari giovani, senza nulla togliere alle meravigliose gare di oggi, non sapete che emozioni vi siete perse!

😆😅 Your comment made me smile. I was lucky enough to be in his company in 2019. I managed to get my bikes and my Ago replica helmets signed by him. He is very charismatic, modest and obliging with his fans. I have followed his career from 9 years old, and can't believe he is in his 81st year.
