@@gudysuman9704 for Aluminzing, please contact Rass Optical Coating or Hind HiVac in Bangalore. In Delhi, you can contact Prince Optical Works. I will be putting more vendor details on my blog soon
Hi Irfan. Colour won't make any difference. Fresh beeswax is usually in light yellow colour. Mine one in video is around 20 years old! Over the period it's colour has darkened.
Reflection ke liye mirror aluminzing karana chahiye. Uske liye 3 contacts maine apne blog pe diye hain. Please check. astrokhan.wordpress.com/atm-sites-and-links/
Please add more rosin. You can also boil it for long to evaporate turpentine in it. Adding rosin or boiling It depends on how soft you pitch already is. You need to experiment it. So add only small quantities at a time
Very nice and informative video. Just a little question: Will the bubbles in the pitch harm the polishing process? and the rosin that you are using as a pitch it is called beroza or baroja as well?
Thanks Irfan. Few bubbles here and there will not harm the polishing process. And yes, the rosin is also called beroza baroja in some places. Hope you also had a chance to look at my blog astrokhan.wordpress.com/ for the entire telescope making process.
@@astrokhan Yes an excellent blog I must say. We in Pakistan have similar circumstances than you guys in India. A lot of material online is written with US perspective and we simply don't have those raw materials or supplies available. Hats off for such a detailed blog, it must have been quite a journey for you to accomplish this.
@@astrokhan and I forgot to make a request 🙂. If possible, enable comments on your blog. It might help a lot of folks who have questions for you! Thank you!
@@irfanrashid2114 I tried to see that option but seem wordpress by design doesn't allow comments on the normal pages however it allows comments on the blog pages. You have given me an idea to write a FAQ page to accommodate the common questions. Will work on that. For any specific question, I have given my email on about page.
It's not recommended as if you encounter any issues during the polishing, you can not go back to fine grinding again. So better, always have grinding tool and pitch lap base separate.
Khan bhai one question.. do we need to heat the mirror while making pitch lap. As the heated pitch contact may get the glass shattered with its thermal shock.
Satya bhai. Yes it is advisable to warm the glass tool before pouring the pitch on it. You can either pour some hot water over the tool or use a infrared lamp to warm it.
Ask any nearby dentist in your area about their vendors/dealers who supply dental stone. Buy "dental stone" and not "dental plaster". You can however make the base using white cement
Beeswax is added to make cutting of the pitch easy. For mirror blanks, I have given details on my blog. Please check astrokhan.wordpress.com/atm-sites-and-links/
Within a minute you open the dam or side strip. In any case if it gets hard, you can keep the entire lap in a warm (not boiling) water to soften the pitch
