I love that Ryan is now making "voices" to amplify the dumb things . He done it in Wandavision with Mariah's "they don't know what you give up" and here with Carly "speeches".
@Manucho he's been doing it for a while, glad people are realizing, I remember in Captain marvel Ryan made a funny voice and said "nobody can keep her down" and smiling like this "😀" It was hilarious lol
I love that both pointed out that Sam's speech really doesn't do a whole lot. Don't get me wrong, it's great and I teared up a bit the first time I watched it, but lots of people in the world say "do better" without saying how.
That part cracks me up. At the same time I also think that’s always the out for people wanting to maintain the status quo. It would be genuinely absurd to ask Captain America to solve the logistics of that issue. It happens all the time but for whatever reason with regard to paying college athletes. Like you can’t argue the case until you’ve figured out how to also cover the cost of the varsity badminton team.
@@HitcherWitcher11 oh for sure, Sam is in no way responsible or should be expected to solve social issues, but it's so funny to me that his big passionate speech really doesn't say anything worthwhile, other than calling out that the senators have no idea how their decisions affect people. The Flagsmashers are clearly terrorists who needed to be stopped, and saying "do better" does nothing.
Funny thing I noticed is that people don’t talk much about how odd it is that Sam and Bucky decided to trust Zemo, the guy who mind controlled Bucky and killed King T’Chaka, instead of working with John and Lemar. If Sam and Bucky had set aside their anger and pride and worked with John and Lemar, maybe they would have successfully dealt with the Flag Smasher situation. The fact that they trusted a murderer who broke the Avengers apart over a fellow soldier with 3 Medals of Honor all because John isn’t Steve is just kind of petty and dangerously irresponsible, basically all the mess and trail of blood in Madripoor is on their hands for letting Zemo out.
It's a draw for me this time. I agree with a lot of Ryan's points. I absolutely hated how the show was constantly pushing the "Karli has a good heart, she's just misguided" narrative. She repeatedly murders innocent people without batting an eye and that's still not evil enough? It felt to me like we were supposed to root for her just because she is a pretty young girl. I bet if her character was an ugly fat bald guy in his fifties and did the exact same things, no one would be pushing that narrative. And as much as I love Honest Trailers, what do they mean by "Avengers no one really cares about"? As far as I know, Bucky has the second biggest army of screaming fangirls in the MCU (after Loki of course) :-)
Yeah, I feel like Bucky was popular on both fronts. I liked him because if the mystery. You know he did a lot of dirt when Hydra had him. Only thing I didn't like about the character was how he seemed weaker as a good guy, lol
IIRC she only kills three people via an explosion in which they were collateral damage. That’s it. I see people often talk like she slaughtered a full town. She is clearly young, possibly not even 20, and she’s just been kicked out of her home and forced to live in an unsanitary camp where her mother figure just died due to the GRC refusing to offer aid to the camps after forcing people into them. Hence, her blowing up a building in an attempt to threaten the GRC into being fucking useful. So she’s young, had to deal with half of humanity dying then returning after five years, being kicked from her home and forced into a camp, watching her mother figure die, taking a serum which amplifies her emotions, and then as she begins to understand Sam she thinks he betrayed her. She’s going to be a bit unstable. To me, she wasn’t exactly a sympathetic character. She was a tragic character whose fall to her anger and grief could have been avoided. That’s why Sam calls out the actions of the Senators. The laziness in their decisions led her down that path.
@@mr.stuffdoer8483 what do you mean colateral damage? It's not even like she didn't knew they were there, she 1000% killed them on purpose. And then she almost killed a lot of people in the finale, who only survived because of Bucky, Sam and Walker. They even attacked Walker when he was pulling the police truck and trying to save those people She might have a sad backstory, but that doesn't help us sympathize with her when she's indiscriminately killing people without any sign of remorse whatsoever
@@mr.stuffdoer8483 You're writing as if murdering 3 people isn't a big deal. How about you try that and tell the judge at court "Your honor it was only 3 people, You're pretending like it's a whole thing when it was really just 3 people" and see how that works for you?
"If you noticed my face..." I'm not sure you knew that Wyatt Russell, the actor who plays John Walker (a.k.a US Agent), is Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russel's son. Hence Honest Trailers' reference to Kurt Russell and to "Goldie's Spawn".
"John Walker doesn't seem like such a bad guy... but he's SUCH A BAD GUY... but not that bad kinda... but NOT GREAT." He really hit the nail on the head on that one.
Hey man, woundering if you've seen the Critical Drinker's video on The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, its a short video where he gives his thoughts on the series and pointing out what doesn't make sense. I think its weird what Disney is doing, in Wanda Vision she traps everyone in the city but in the end they want you to simpatize with her by saying "they dont know what you sacrificed for them" and in this show they want you to simpatize with the girl that's doing all this terrible stuff
The Karly bit is soooooo true. A weakness of the scenario for sure. I did enjoy the show, but I gotta say I think WandaVision is a little bit better, but it is just my modest opinion. Thanks for the video, man. As always, your reactions are awesome. p.s. SAM'S ON A BOAT 😂😂😂
Captain America (Steve) notable enemies: Red Skull and Nazis, Loki, Ultron, Winter Soldier, Zemo, Crossbones, Thanos, etc. Captain America (Sam) notable enemies: *angry teenager* , fake captain america, french guy and bank guy edit: I also add the bank guy
This was a hard one, but I'm going to give this one to Pitch meetings. Also every time you do either marvel or Star wars you also have a awesome t-shirt on that resembles it.
Yeah man, I gotta be honest, I think the Flag Smashers really let the show down. I would have preferred to see Zemo use the blip to his advantage to escape prison, and he could've been the main villain etc. And I'm glad Ryan pointed out the fact that they did this whole name change gimmick, but kept the Winter Solider name for Bucky. Weird.
I was reading on the name change. Apparently they may focus more on Becky if they do a season 2 and that could truly show he's become the White Wolf. We'll see if it happens.
I was going to watch this show because Winter Soldier is my favorite character out of the MCU, but I really don't like preachy messages, so I'll just enjoy the Pitch Meeting 😎
I suggest you watch it - Sebastian Stan is great as Bucky trying to quash the Winter Soldier inside. Some of the story elements are a bit oversimplified, but I didn't see it as preachy.
I just realized that Karli is a super soldier so she must have survived since Cap took three bullets on his stomach yet he remains standing which means that Karli could still be alive and being kept secret until... she’ll probably recruited in a new team.
What scene did he take three bullets? In Winter Soldier he’s shot once in the gut and it basically incapacitated him. Karli got shot three times in the gut/chest.
I thought Honest Trailers was going to win until Ryan brought his A game. I’m with you on this. I can’t pick one either. Hopefully the Loki show will top both of the others.
Pitch Meeting did a much better job than Honest Trailers of accurately acknowledging both the strengths and the flaws of FaWS. Much of the Honest Trailer was funny and insightful (per usual) but the early parts of the trailer were much too spiteful; I was genuinely surprised when they used the word "enjoyable" at the 3:51 mark. A note about the plot, the Flagsmashers, John Walker, etc. Remember how Dr. Erskine described the Super Soldier Serum in CA: FA. "Good becomes great; bad becomes worse." Whether by accident or on-purpose, all of their behaviors reflected that. John Walker was an outstanding soldier (three Medals of Honor would IRL be historic) and when Sgt. Maj. Hoskins was killed, Walker's instincts were to kill the enemy. The Flagsmashers - particularly Karli - may have had good intentions at first, but they also had some fanatical tendencies; amplify those with the serum, and many innocent bystanders were bound to suffer. P.S. If I got Lamarr Hoskins's rank wrong, please let me know. Also, I'm relatively new to RU-vid and I don't know how to edit. If, uh, it's not too much trouble, if anyone has some advise... :)
WTH Honest Trailers! Bucky was my favorite character ever since The First Avenger. When it turned out he was the Winter Soldier, I literally screamed "NOOOOO!!". He stayed my favorite throughout the saga. When he was the first one dusted, I screamed "BUCKYYYYY!" Fortunately there were other screaming women. I have no idea why that is. 😜
For me, this was a tie. If I'm forced to chose only one...🤔🤔🤔🤔 I CAN'T!!!! It's a tie. They were both great and it's too hard to pick just one as the best! 🤣😂🤣
The Falcon and the Wolf? Captain America and the Winter Wolf? I do think PM was a little funnier because in this case, Producer guy was all of us about a great many things.... Calling Karli misunderstood even though she was a straight up terrorist, the fact that all of them have kills to their reputation... especially Zemo and "Winter Soldier!" And that Carter is the Power Broker... And the fact that absolutely no one bought that John Walker was likable... so many things!! But you are right that both of them (HT and PM) were good! I also really enjoyed the "Sam's on a Boat" bit! Funny! I do hope, though, that the Skrull Invasion is met with the Dark Avengers in the movies! You think they'll make those movies? Maybe 2 or 3 at least? They don't have to do Wolverine's son Daken... but maybe they could do X23? Looking forward to the next video! These are great fun!! Thanks!
Sorry if I already asked this, but have you seen Agents of Shield? Most of the people on youtube seem to have ignored it/ stopped watching during the first season and I'd be interested in your opinion on it (if youve seen it). If you havent you might want to watch it, It takes a while to find its place but its quite incredible :).
I have seen it, but stopped watching before season 4. I need to het back to it. I did see any episode later in the series where they went back in time and I was so lost 🤣😂
@@OnMyMindEntertainment Haha, yeah the time travel part of the series is quite confusing if youre missing the 3 seasons inbetween :,D. Also if you liked it so far, you should definetly continue, season 4 blows everything before it out of the water ;)
What I find absolutely disappointing is the fact that they updated the title for Falcon (even though I still maintain that it should’ve been Captain Falcon instead of Captain America) but didn’t even bother with Bucky even though his whole story is about shedding his Winter Soldier identity and building his own. We were introduced to Bucky as The White Wolf in Black Panther’s end credits and they couldn’t be bothered with it. I am honestly sad for him and angry at the writers.
There were so many cuts in the show which is why Karli isn’t so sympathetic. If they put everything maybe we get to sympathize with Karli but the final cut makes me happy she is “dead”.
Nobody mentions how the new Captain looks like the old guy from Up "Sam's sister's parents' boat?" Couldn't he just say "his parents boat?" You know, they filmed the first half of the series BEFORE Vivid but had to stop filming and then rewrite the second half because the original plan was to release a virus and cause a pandemic to wipe out most of humanity Covid kind of nixed that plotline
jaby said that a possible reason for cutting sam's scene with the old man was that the reaction was not good. Since his acting was bad, they decided to cut the reaction
I loved falcon and the winter soldier. I considered it better than wandavision. Honestly, wandavision stopped being interesting after a while. Even going into it, I was kind of just watching it out of obligation to the mcu and because I heard something about quicksilver being in it and mephisto probably being in it. And even though wandavision was original, it wasn't that good imo. I mean, it was good, but not as good as most people make it out to be just because it has an original concept. Original doesn't automatically mean great. I feel like tfatws had characters I liked more, a more interesting "villain", better action, and a better message. I also hate how wandavision was setting up being different from anything in the mcu, yet still ended in a not-so-good fight
I totally disagree. This is one of the worst things marvel has ever done. There is no good villain. Karli and Sharon are probably some of the worst characters in the history of TV.
Everyone's got their opinion. Sharon was cool to me. The direction they were going with Karli felt odd. Overall in enjoyed this much more. But to be fair, both shows are vastly different. WandaVision was more about big story and character reveals, FATWS was more a continuation of what we had been getting from Cap: WS and CW and to me a true continuation from Endgame.
Honest Trailers and Pitch Meeting had completely opposite idea about the bad guys. Honest Trailer was basically saying they're good people and compared them to military dudes, as if killing innocent people and enemy soldiers are exactly the same. whilst Ryan George was saying why do we even care about this people.
@@OnMyMindEntertainment wasn't the funniest pitch meeting, but it felt good to see the collaboration. I'm not sure why they did that movie, but now I want to see Money Plane.
Maybe if they want to give Bucky a new name than "Winter Soldier," as it is an insult to him trying to escape that life, how about someone give him a shotgun arm and give him the super hero name "Buck Shot."
Pretty sure that's a reference to Lonely Island's "Im on a Boat" bro. You could spend a month reacting to songs by The Lonely Island. Im on a Boat is cool but the dramatic build up between "My Dick in a Box" and "Motherlover" is remarkable. You not heard of Lonely Island man? Its just like if Andy Samberg just did whatever he wants coz its Andy Samberg and all his famous freinds doin whatever they want...
@@stevensheard4885 That guy was trying to kill John just 30 sec ago, before running away and actually a part of group of terrorists and still somehow responsible for killing Lamar.
We don't normally see what John experienced with other hero's. At the end of the day we want to see hero's defeating villains and we definitely got that here.
Honestly, after these series, I look forward to more wanda, vision, and loki. But these 2... The falcon is now a crappier Captain America who fights against racism which... cool, but I think Thanos is a more entertaining villain than racism. Also, bucky went from a killing machine to some dude with a metal arm. I get that the dora milage are tough and all, but they're side characters. If side characters can rip him a new one, maybe they should be the main characters instead, since they're... you know, capable.
The entire point is that Sam isn’t fighting racism, he’s becoming Captain America regardless of the racists who’ll hate him for it. Bucky doesn’t WANT to be a killing machine anymore, plus the Wakandans wouldn’t be able to match him if they hadn’t built the failsafe into the arm. Or if they didn’t have their spears.
Honest Trailer wins this time, imo. I like it because they pointed out: - how Karli was written killing people to make her less sympathetic - how the military is seen as a legitimate killing force in the MCU Honestly, I think that was a missed opportunity for Ryan, especially since these are points specifically about the writing.
Man, I thought the new cap looks like an eighty-year old cosplaying as Captain America. I mean, look how that mask compresses his face! Was Kathleen Kennedy the casting director here?!
I loved everything about the show except for Karli and her group of clowns. She's straight up evil the entire show and the writers want us to feel bad for her? C'mon
