Anyone teaching a hitter to swing down on a baseball probably shouldn’t be in player development. The pitcher is throwing from a 8-10 inch tall mound. This means the baseball is approaching the strike zone on a downward plane as the force of gravity takes effect . If my swing is also on a downward plane, instead of on the samepath as the pitch, in order to make good contact, I have to be almost exact on my swing timing at the moment of impact!
